Researchers at NSW promise a ‘Bionic eye’ by 2013

If researchers at the University of NSW have their way, then come 2013 and no one will have to bear the curse of blindness or low visibility any more. According to a university press release, a team headed by Professors Nigel Lovell and Gregg Suaning have recently completed work on a rare technological marvel: a bionic eye prototype. Costing a whopping $60 million, researchers believe the bionic eye is ready to be implanted into human patients by 2013, latest.
