A century has sailed by since the historic, ultra-luxurious, giant steamship ‘Royal Mail Steamer’ RMS Titanic, which was originally considered to be ‘unsinkable’ met its catastrophic end in the North Atlantic in the early hours of 15th April 1912, plunging 2-miles to the ocean floor after sideswiping an iceberg during its maiden voyage. And in the decades since her demise that led to the loss of over 1500 lives, Titanic has inspired numerous books, notable films, and countless Titanic memorabilia, while continuing to make headlines, thus remaining the object of public fascination and an ensuring legend.
And now in year 2016, this generation of Titanic fans and ultra-elites will get to experience cruising on the luxury liner again, as the Australian billionaire Clive Palmer unveiled blueprints for the successor to the doomed ocean liner, the Titanic II which is described to be less prone to sinking in such a dramatic fashion like the original one. Notably, Titanic II has captured the world’s imagination ever since Professor Palmer announced that his shipping company, Blue Star Line, would recreate the famous ship in honor of the 100 year anniversary of the launch and untimely fate of The Titanic. While every bit as luxurious as her namesake, Titanic II will have every modern amenity along with 21st century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems.
