RIM To Give Developers New BlackBerry Prototypes In May

It looks like RIM is getting closed to the release of its new BlackBerry 10 platform, as according to a recent report, the company will be giving prototype BlackBerry 10 devices to devel0pers in May.

According to Bloomberg, RIM will be giving out 2,000 BlackBerry 10 test devices to developers at RIM’s BlackBerry Jam conference, which takes place in Orlando, Florida in May.

James Cameron Successfully Descends To The Deepest Point On Earth (video)

Last week James Cameron was preparing to his Deepsea Challenger one-man mini submarine to to dive down over 36,000ft, to the deepest point on earth. Well now James Cameron has completed the descent and successfully returned front the bottom of the 7 mile Marianas Trench. Around three times as deep as the resting place of the Titanic.

Apple Offering Royalty Free Liscense On Its New Nano SIM Cards

Apple obviously wants its new nano SIM card to become popular, as it would give the company more room inside its iPhone by using a much smaller and thinner SIM card.

According to a recent report by Foss Patents, Apple has the support of most of the European carriers for its new SIM card standard, but some companies seem to be worried about using the new SIM card as Apple owns the patents to it.

HTC One X With Snapdragon S4 Gets Benchmarked

AT&T’s version of the HTC One X won’t come with the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor that is featured in the international version, instead the device will come with Qualcomm’s dual core Snapdragon S4 processor.

Now it looks like we have the first benchmarks on the S4 version of the HTC One X, thanks to Phonegeek from the Android central forums, which you can see below.

New Max Payne 3 Trailer Intros Games Machine Gun Weapons (video)

Rockstar Games has released a new video trailer this weekend for its upcoming Max Payne 3 game. Which reveals the range of submachine gun weapons that will be available and at your disposal to use whilst playing.

The video after the break includes a glimpse of the Micro 9mm, SAF .40, MPK, M972, and M10 which you will be able to use in Max Payne 3. Together with the return of bullet-time in action sequences, and over-the-shoulder zoom aiming and cover mechanics.

EVE Inferno Expansion Arriving May 22nd (video)

During the EVE Fanfest 2012 its been revealed over the weekend that CCP will be releasing a precursor patch on April 24th in preparation for the release of their latest expansion, EVE Inferno which is expected to be arriving on May 22nd.

CCP has also released a new trailer, announcing the arrival of new missiles and turret effects within EVE. You can watch it after the jump, but art shown is currently work in progress, and may not necessarily be representative of the final product, says CCP.

Permoveh Personal Mobile Vehicle, Allows Sideways Movement (video)

Researchers have unveiled a new style of personal mobile vehicle they have developed called the Permoveh, that will allow users to move in a sideways direct as well as the traditional forward and backward directions.

The sideways directional movement is possible, due to a new style of wheel which has been created by the team. The research team’s leader Masaharu Komori, associate professor of mechanical engineering at Kyoto University,can be seen demonstrating the new design in the video after the jump.

Microsoft And Nokia Launch $24 Million AppCampus Developer Center

Microsoft and Nokia have announced the launch of a new app development center, which will be based in Finland, and will be called the AppCampus, and the two companies are investing $24 million in it.

The AppCampus will launch in May, and it will be managed by Finland’s Aalto University, in an attempt to attract students, developers and entrepreneurs to the Windows Phone platform and also the Symbian platform.
