HTC One Max Case Appears Ahead of it’s Launch

HTC One Max is not a mystery anymore. We have seen the device from almost every possible angle and know what it will bring at the table. Obviously, it’s unofficial and the real version might differ but it will be close to what we already know. Now, a manufacturer has released cases for the alleged HTC One Max before its debut. This is not the first time as we’ve seen something like this some time back when a case appeared on Amazon that belonged to iPhone 5C.

Sony Let’s You Charge PlayStation Store Content to Your… Mobile Phone Bill?!

If you enjoy playing games or watching movies on your PS3 or other Sony device, you may be interested to hear that Sony has added a fourth option for adding funds to your PlayStation Store digital wallet. Previously the only options were credit card, prepaid gift card, or PayPal. Now you can charge digital content to your mobile phone bill.

mobile pay

That means using your mobile phone and SMS text messages you can purchase additional items such as games, DLC, movies, and TV shows. You can even charge monthly Music Unlimited subscriptions to your phone bill. Sony says that adding funds to your digital wallet from your phone bill will require the user to reply to an SMS text message and text messaging rates will apply.

All charges will be placed on your mobile phone bill in the next payment cycle. Apparently, some prepaid mobile phone services will also support this payment type. This sounds weird until you think about the fact that some people may not want to trust Sony with their credit card information and a lot of people don’t have PayPal accounts.

Alcatel quietly reveals One Touch Idol S, Idol Mini and Evo 8 HD tablet

DNP Alcatel One Touch Mini, S, Evo 8 HD

Unlike babies that wail when they're born, the three new members of Alcatel's One Touch family have silently slipped into the company's website. The two handsets, the Idol S and the Idol Mini, follow the original trio revealed at CES this year, sharing similar elements despite the difference in size. Both run Android 4.2, can read microSD cards up to 32GB in capacity and support quad-band GSM, as well as some UMTS (3G) bands, depending on the model.

Idol S, the larger of the two weighs 110 grams, has a 4.7-inch 1,280 x 720-pixel screen and DC-HSPA data connectivity. It's powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, has 4GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel rear / 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand, the Idol Mini has a smaller 4.3-inch 854 x 480-pixel display, weighs 96 grams and comes with HSPA+. It's equipped with up to 8GB of internal storage, 512MB of RAM and a 5-megapixel rear / VGA front camera.

Smart Move or Gimmick? This Bar Only Lets Its Facebook Friends in After 9PM

Suppose you’re a bar owner who’s getting tired of dealing with a rowdy crowd of undesirables who do nothing but mess up your interior decor and ruin the mood in the entire place with their antics. What would you do? Hire more bouncers, or implement a digital bouncer-type of system instead?

finnegans facebook

Tony Mannor, the owner of Stockton, California’s Finnegan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, opted to go with the latter. So far, it seems like he made the right decision. The doors are closed to people who aren’t “friends” with the bar’s Facebook page after 9PM. That means patrons have to add the pub in the social media network before they can enter.

Mannor took to YouTube to explain that slots are “limit[ed] to an overall percentage of total occupancy and other factors.” He added that the bar has about 7,500 names on their guest list – with Mannor himself knowing the faces of at least 75% of them.

Plexus Shirt Concept Morphs to the Occasion

Many are on the constant search to find the perfect shirt. Not just any shirt, but the shirt for all occasions – something that can be worn to work and donned for a night out. Of course, you’d still have to layer on cardigans or accessories in order to make the full transformation, but what if I told you there’s a shirt that can literally morph into anything you want it to?

Plexus

Designed by Vernon Chen and Joanne Lim Jin Xuan, the Plexus is made of pixelated, color-changing nano-magnets (is this possible? It might be, in the future.) These tiny components allow each panel to be able open like a louver and provide ventilation too.

It’s a reactive, interactive shirt as it morphs and changes color and design based on its wearer’s surroundings and agenda.

Sounds pretty amazing, right? The big catch is that it’s just a concept design… at least for now.

Nikkei: KDDI plans 220 Mbps cellular network upgrade for summer 2014

Nikkei KDDI prepping smartphone with 220Mbps LTEAdvanced data

Think 150Mbps LTE-Advanced data is quick? KDDI could offer far more bandwidth next year. Nikkei claims that the Japanese carrier plans to upgrade its cellular network to 220 Mbps data as soon as summer 2014. Service would reportedly launch with an Android smartphone, and rely on new wireless technology; it's not clear whether this entails a faster LTE-A variant or something new. KDDI hasn't confirmed the rumor, so we wouldn't consider moving to Japan just yet. If there's any truth to the claims, however, even NTT DoCoMo's upgraded LTE could soon feel downright pokey.
