Moky Keyboard Doubles as Touchpad: Feather Touch
Last year we heard of Microsoft Research’s prototype keyboard that used infrared sensors to turn the entire area above the keys into a multitouch surface. Now a company called Innopresso is raising funds on Indiegogo for a similar device called the Moky, short for “motion keyboard.”
The biggest differences between the Moky and Microsoft Research’s prototype are that the Moky is more compact, connects via Bluetooth and uses only two infrared sensors (the prototype keyboard had a sensor beneath each key).
To use Moky’s touchpad feature, simply hold the left mouse button just below the spacebar and make a gesture over the keys. It recognizes drag/highlight, tap/click, swipe and pinch gestures. Moky also has a right mouse button, as well as shift, control, copy and paste buttons. You can use Moky with Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices, but the touchpad feature won’t work on iOS.
Here’s a demo of Moky’s working prototype:
Pledge at least $59 (USD) on Indiegogo to receive a Moky keyboard in black and orange or black and blue as a reward. You’ll also get a keyboard cover that doubles as a mobile device stand.

Retreev Compact Grappling Tool Aims at Ninja Wantabes
Growing up, I had a serious Jones for martial arts flicks, especially Bruce Lee movies. I also loved to watch anything with a Ninja on the box cover because Ninjas are awesome. One thing I liked about these guys is that they could whip out a grappling hook and climb over anything. I tried to make a grappling hook out of some twine and an old rusty rake head growing up. It nearly worked, which is to say it let loose after I was a few feet off the ground.
What I needed was the Retreev Compact Grappling Tool.
It’s not made specifically for Ninja use, but I know a ninja tool when I see it. The keychain size hook comes with aluminum and stainless steel spikes and has a magnetic head for grabbing metal items. Sadly, it’s not strong enough for actually holding your weight unless you’re Ant-Man, but it should wonders to get back that Frisbee that landed on the neighbor’s roof.
It would probably make a nice tool for campers in areas where you have to store your food in the air or bears show up and maul you. You can get one at ThinkGeek for $29.99(USD).

Mega Man Fans, Dry Your Tears in These Retro Hand Towels
For some reason Capcom still doesn’t seem to know what to do with Mega Man, except release cool merch based on the series’ past hits, like these hand towels. One has an awesome pattern featuring Rock’s 8-bit form in various poses – please make a t-shirt version of this! – while the other one features a huge E Tank graphic.
Can you imagine if Nintendo did this to one of its popular…oh. Never mind. You can pre-order the towels from NCSX or Otaku Republic for ~$13 (USD).

Death Star Lamp: The Light Side of the Dark Side
I would love to have this Death Star lamp in my home. Can you imagine how awesome this thing would look at night? This custom Death Star lamp was actually made from a globe – which is fitting since this thing is all about destroying planetary structures.
It has green light that simulates the powering up of its weapon as it fires and a “warm glow” underneath. Grand Moff Darken, I mean Tarkin would love this. As would Vader.
The laser can even be positioned in multiple directions or removed for a different look. This is the Star Wars decor you have been looking for. It’s only about $189(USD) from Etsy.
