The iPad Workspace you need
There can’t be work without a work-space. Work is religion to some people, and the work-space needs to reflect the sanctity of that religion. A clean and well designed working environment can make all the difference to your work ethics. Add portability to that and you’re good to deliver your best from anywhere. The Canvas Smart Desk for the iPad Pro and the Surface Pro revolves around the word “Pro”. Designed to make any flat space (or even your lap!) an instant and effective workstation, the smart desk allows you to dock your tablet, a smartphone, and even a paired stylus (The Microsoft Pen or the Apple Pencil).
The Canvas comes in two variants. The Canvas Creator is a more compact desk meant for the serious and swift professional. The Canvas Pro is a larger variant, offering a little extra space for your notepad/coffee/portable-speaker. Admit it. You want one right now! Well, why don’t you go have a look-see!

Mario Canvas Art Makes Me Want to Play Mario Kart
I used to play a lot of Super Mario Bros. back in the day, but it was never one of my favorite games. It was just the game all my friends wanted to play. Mario Kart, on the other hand, I loved and would dominate some bitches. Whether you like Bros. or Kart, this art should be right up your alley.
These are canvas art prints of some of the major characters from the Mario world. The art includes the character none of us dudes wanted to be in Mario Kart – Princess Peach. You can also get Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Yoshi. I always liked Yoshi the best.
Each of the canvases is a 16-inch square and you can get any of them at ThinkGeek for $29.99(USD). These prints would be perfect for a game room or dorm.
Star Wars Canvases: The Art Side of the Force
Any Star Wars fans with a room in a home or office that needs decorating will want to check these out. Star Wars posters have been around for decades now, but this is the first time I have seen any Star Wars canvas prints. These look like real artwork on canvas material, but they do lack frames.
There are four different styles to choose from including a Darth Vader silhouette that has “I find your lack of faith disturbing.” my favorite is the AT-AT kneeling down to look at the AT-ST and it says, “… I am your father.” The other two canvases are travel posters for the beautiful destinations of Hoth and Dagobah.
The square canvas measures 26″ square, while the rectangular designs are 26″(w) x 18″(h). You can get them for $79.99(USD) each at ThinkGeek. I want the whole set!
Canvas is Half Painting, Half Chair
If you think this painting of a chair looks good enough to sit on, you’re in luck because you actually can do just that. The Canvas (designed by YOY) is made to look like a canvas painting but work like a chair. It’s made from a wood frame covered by an elastic fabric. The elastic fabric stretches out so you can sit yourself right in the painting. Bet you can’t do that with the Night Watch (trust me, I tried and am now banned from most major museums).
It’s probably ok to sit on the arms of this one. An image of an armchair is printed right on the fabric. The result is a highly portable seating option that you can easily stow away when not in use. A chair that looks like a work of art. It’s also available in sofa form:
It’s like a spare couch you can store behind your couch, or hang on your wall. You might have to explain how to use it to your guests though. Measures 59″ H x 43.3″ W for the armchair and 51.2″ H x 74.8″ W for the sofa.

Naoki Ono’s Awesome Canvas Furniture Portraits Double as Actual Furniture
What good is a portrait of a chair when your legs are weary and are in need of rest? Tons of good, apparently, if it happens to be one of the portraits by YOY. That’s because aside from being a striking piece of art, each painted seat doubles as an actual piece of furniture.
Stare at it, marvel at its beauty, and then remove it from its frame, prop it against a wall, and take a seat.
‘Canvas’ was unveiled at Salon Satellite at Milan Design Week 2013 earlier this month, where the two-dimensional lightweight furniture is still on display. Obviously the chairs won’t be ideal for long periods of time, but I think they’ll be fine if you just need a moment or two of rest.
‘Canvas’ was designed by spatial designer Naoki Ono, who is the founder of Tokyo-based YOY design studio.

How to Keep Water out of Any Canvas Bag
When it comes to bags and backpacks, the holy grail is a bag that’s completely waterproof, to protect all of your precious gadgets from rain and snow. Check out what Allen Mowery at DIY Photography has come up with. It’s an easy way to make any canvas bag water-resistant.
In order to make your canvas bag bead water, you’ll need two pots (or a double-boiler you don’t care about,) a mixture of paraffin and bee’s wax, and a brush. Water needs to be boiled in one pot. The other pot is going to be placed inside of this with the wax, causing it to melt. Use the brush to coat the bag with wax. Once you’ve covered the entire bag, let it dry. Toss it into an old pillowcase, and then tumble dry for 15 to 30 minutes. Once it’s done, you’ll have a water-resistant bag for a fraction of the price of an off-the-shelf one.
It’s also cool to just buy a cheap waterproof bag, but they are often less versatile and good looking as canvas bags. Waxing bags to keep water out isn’t anything new, and you’ll probably have to periodically refresh the wax coat as it wears, but it’s definitely a nice cheap way to keep your gear from getting soaked.
