Contemporary collapsible colander

Everything about the RMDLO Colander is creative, from its name to the product itself. Designed by Ran Merkazy, an ex-employee at Dyson, the colander can A. open out into a full scale perforated bowl used for draining or steaming, B. collapse into a flat strip that can be stored in drawers, or hung to dry, and C. warp, allowing you to bend it as you drain out water and then pour the contents out into a vessel big or small.

Named after its inspiration, the Armadillo, the RMDLO colander has a mechanism we’ve seen before in the Pangolin Backpack and the Suli Lamp, but never before in kitchenware. The flexible foldable shape allows you to use the RMDLO with other vessels of any sizes. The colander bends to accommodate the size of the other container, while the handle stops it from slipping in (when used to steam veggies). Aside from being the embodiment of sleek, functional, and delightful, the RMDLO colander is also dishwasher safe and BPA-free!

Collapsible Bike Helmet Won’t Collapse Your Head

This collapsible bike helmet is pretty awesome. It might get people to wear a helmet that would normally never wear one. The Closca Fuga Black collapsible helmet offers a nice alternative to the typical helmet since it will easily fit in a bag and it even looks kinda cool. Kinda. It’s still a bike helmet after all.

It consists of is three circular shell components that fold down and nest inside one other so that it doesn’t take up much space. That makes it much easier to take with you and stow in a bag. The helmet has passed certification in Europe, Canada and the United States, so it also protects just like any other helmet.

Bike in a Bag

One of the biggest problems with a bike is its portability. Ironic?! Right. You can’t carry the conventionally designed cycles in trains easily. It takes more than just some bend and shift to fold bikes and which is why we have a very new direction to the design with the Kit Bike. Designed to be a bike in a bag, the wheels and parts completely dismantle and pack into a backpack!

Features:

  • Built from simple twist joints and hollow tubes all mounted from one side.
  • Consists of simple twist joints that lock with aluminum hollow tubes using a specially designed key.
  • When not in use, the bike can be stowed in a stylish leather bag that is divided into 3 sections to store the 2 wheels on either side or the components in between.
  • The design incorporates 21 parts including tires, belt (drive belt), seat, pedals and locking joints.

Collapsible Bike Helmet: Hope It Doesn’t Collapse on Your Head

Let’s face it, helmets are huge. They are a hassle to store and transport when not on your head. Want a bike helmet to protect your head, but prefer something that’s not as bulky as traditional helmets? The Collapsible Helmet collapses, accordion style, when not in use for easy storage.

Designer Michael Rose created this helmet, which is rugged despite the way it looks. When collapsed, this helmet becomes the size of a book so that you can easily put it in a backpack. It uses foldable layers of plastic to make it both safe and small, yet when opened up, it can still absorb shocks.

It was inspired by origami of course, and it’s designed in such a way as to be safe, despite looking fragile.

As long as it doesn’t collapse during an accident, I think we can all love this helmet.

Buckets usually end up taking up a lot of space for something that (while necessary) is used only infrequently. Most of the time you end up using the bucket to store other things in. With the Pack-Away Bucket, you can easily store a bucket anywhere- closet, under the sink, car, RV, anywhere. It’s made of durable silicone in 6 color choices and simply folds down when not in use. Elecom Portable Smartphone Keyboard: Smart, But Expensive

I kind of understand the need for a keyboard with today’s smartphones, but to be honest, you can type pretty quickly with your fingers on your touchscreen, once you get used to it. If you can’t and absolutely need a keyboard to get things done with your phone, then check out Elecom’s collapsible Bluetooth keyboard.

Elecom’s TK-FBP049E (JP) has a sliding mechanism that will split the keyboard in half, and then folds up. A folding cover doubles as a stand for smartphones, in portrait or landscape orientations.

Its single AAA battery will give you 8 months of use, and the keyboard works with any Bluetooth-compatible device. The keyboard is available in either black or white, but it costs ¥14,595 (~$182 USD), which is almost as much as you probably paid for your phone.
