There’s no denying that super heroes are super cool. However, nothing beats having something– or someone — that’s truly your own, though. So if you’ve been longing for a super hero to call your own, then it’s time to design your own superhero by getting this kit. It contains everything you’ll need to create your own custom comic book, including: cardboard stencils, a blank comic book, an activity book, tracing sheets, and project activity sheets.

You’ll get tips on how to layout and story-board your comic, among other things. As for the characters and storyline– well, I leave that up to you. The Design Your Own Superhero Comic Book kit is available online for £9.99 (about $16.)

Hot Toys has unveiled a fantastically detailed action figure of Gamora that uses an exceptionally accurate reproduction of Zoe from the film.

This 1/6th scale, handpainted collectible has 28 points of articulation and has interchangeable palms for different fighting styles. The statue is so realistic it almost looks like a photo of her standing in costume from the movie.

Comic Book Vending Machine Trades Coins for Geeky Reading Materials

I am a sucker for vending machines that dispense things that you don’t expect to find in a vending machine. One of my all time favorites was the vending machine that would sell you hot French fries. A teen named Chris Romberger has come up with what may be the second coolest vending machine I have ever seen.

The teen’s machine has all sorts of comic books inside for you to purchase. The 19-year old teen has Down Syndrome and autism and worked with a job coach to open his business. The business is called Comic Man.

Inside the machine are a wide assortment of single edition comics. It’s unclear exactly how many issues the machine has sold since it opened. All we know is that it sold “several issues” in the first few weeks it was open. The teen keeps the machine stocked and is considering opening more in other locations.

LEGO Calvin and Hobbes Has Evil Snowmen

Growing up, about the only comics I had anything to do with were Peanuts, The Far Side, and Calvin and Hobbes. I was never really interested in other comic strips or comic books. This slick Calvin and Hobbes LEGO diorama brings back fond memories.

The LEGO set has Calvin and his tiger on a snowmobile zipping through the ice and snow with evil snowmen trying to get them. One of the snowmen has two heads, another looks like an AT-ST walker from The Empire Strikes Back, and there is one with a pitchfork through its head.

The LEGO creation was made for a store display by brick artist Tyler Sky, also known as Bricksky on Flickr. Hobbes looks a bit worried, but Calvin seems happy enough.

That ring for Daniel Maffett happens to be this Batman and Harley Quinn-themed engagement ring that was made by Tom Sayers of Sayers Jewelers.

It looks like your typical diamond ring at first glance. But take a closer look at the details and you’ll be blown away.

“My goal going into this design was to create a ring that was traditionally elegant and sleek but represented my fiancé and I. Comic books are a big part of us and her favorite is obviously Batman and her favorite character is Harley Quinn,” says Daniel. Delivering the ring was the couple’s dog who proudly carried it in a sack of coal to Daniel’s fiancé.

Now that’s getting a proposal–and engagement ring–down right.
