There’s no denying that super heroes are super cool. However, nothing beats having something– or someone — that’s truly your own, though. So if you’ve been longing for a super hero to call your own, then it’s time to design your own superhero by getting this kit. It contains everything you’ll need to create your own custom comic book, including: cardboard stencils, a blank comic book, an activity book, tracing sheets, and project activity sheets.

Superman’s Terrible Twos Were Terrible

I can recall thinking when my son was first born that raising kids was a snap. He slept a lot and all I really needed to do was give him a bottle, change his diaper, and try to not get peed on while doing it. People started telling me, “Wait until he turns two.” I got this I thought. At two, kids seem to go insane, it’s as if the part of their brain that controls normality turns off for a year or so.

The kids turn into raving lunatics that will love you one second and bash you in the head with a DVD player the next. If a normal kid is this hard to deal with at two, what would raising Superman be like? He could already lift a car by two, you certainly don’t want to try and pick him up mid-tantrum when you have refused to buy him ice cream.

My son gave me some looks that could kill back in the day, especially when I wanted him to eat vegetables. Superman could literally kill you with a glance of his heat vision. 7 Marvel Superheroes With Their Own Comic Book Cereals

Not that we need any more advertising and brand placing in our lives, but this idea of using Marvel Superheroes (and one lovable movie villain) like Iron Man, Thor, Captain American, Loki, Hulk, Groot and Deadpool on cereals boxes is incredibly cool.

The combination of Bamboota and Elliot Fernandez brought together this wonderful project, taking a very needed spin on the boxes of morning cereals.

Iron Man (Iron Bran)

Comes along with Pepper Potts, the mandarin, a lot of money and also a potential drinking problem, not to mention the Nick Fury eye patch.

Loki (Loki Charms)

Comes along with a depress Thor and also one awesome staff among other things.And speaking of his bashing brother…

Thor (Honey Nut Thorrios)

Comes along with his Avenger friends, including the useless Black Widow and Hawkeye. Ther Mjolnir as well, if you’re worthy of picking it up.

Deadpool (Deadpools)

 

As expected from the Merc with a Mouth, this box comes with things that go Boom!

Hulk (Gamma Snacks)

 

If you get these gamma snacks, you’ll also receive a Loki with a black eye, one solemn Nick Fury and maybe Gamma radiation, which usually isn’t a good thing.

The Best Improvised Comic Book Ever Made

An exquisite corpse is when a collection of words or images is collectively assembled as each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed.

It’s great for passing the time when the internet is down, and it works extremely well when it’s not just writing lines but actually drawing pictures and creating an improvised comic book, although there has to be some talent for that. Good thing this came up at the Rose City Comic Con.

And there’s one rule that didn’t make the picture: The final artist gets to see all the panels made before him, so he can wrap things up nicely and logically, more or less.

First Superman Comic Sells for $3.2 million on eBay

A comic book has sold at auction and has set a record for the most ever paid for a comic. The comic in question is the debut of Superman in Action Comics No. 1 from 1938. A copy of that comic that had been sitting in a cedar chest for decades sold via eBay recently.

The rare comic was a 9.0 out of 10 and sold for a whopping $3,207,852(USD), breaking the previous record of $2.1 million. That previous record holder was a similar quality copy of the same comic book. Action comics No. 1 sold for ten cents. Only about 100 to 150 copies of the issue are believed to be in existance, with only a few in top condition.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale are going to The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which is dedicated to finding cures for and improving the lives of those with spinal cord injuries.

Comic Book Vending Machine Trades Coins for Geeky Reading Materials

I am a sucker for vending machines that dispense things that you don’t expect to find in a vending machine. One of my all time favorites was the vending machine that would sell you hot French fries. A teen named Chris Romberger has come up with what may be the second coolest vending machine I have ever seen.

The teen’s machine has all sorts of comic books inside for you to purchase. The 19-year old teen has Down Syndrome and autism and worked with a job coach to open his business. The business is called Comic Man.

Inside the machine are a wide assortment of single edition comics. It’s unclear exactly how many issues the machine has sold since it opened. All we know is that it sold “several issues” in the first few weeks it was open. The teen keeps the machine stocked and is considering opening more in other locations.

There is something about the colors in the older comic books that today’s comics just don’t have. They were bright and vibrant and just jumped off the page in a way that today’s do not. Maybe it was the ink that they used. Anyway, this amazing Batman tattoo captures this spot on.

This super detailed, full-color tattoo by British artist Ian Hopkins truly brings the classic Batman comic books to life. This is pre-Dark Knight Batman, when the colors were alive and stunning.

This tattoo won him a prize at the Titanic Ink Tattoo Convention in Southampton, UK and took him 40 hours of work to complete. Amazing job, Ian!

The Royal Baby’s Birth Immortalized…In Comic Form

The birth of the royal baby was something that was followed avidly by fans all across the globe. When he was presented to the world, cameras flashed and various news outlets were flooded with news (or, according to others, non-news) about Prince George.

And then came the comic.
