Balenciaga meets Crocs for “interesting” rubber tote bag, phone holder

There are a lot of footwear brands out there not named Nike or Adidas that are pretty interesting and immensely popular. I don’t really know what category Crocs falls under but I do know that no one I personally know would ever publicly admit that they like the brand. I also don’t think I’d be caught wearing a pair as its chunky and hole-y aesthetic is definitely not my style. And yet apparently it continues to be immensely popular as we keep seeing all these Crocs-inpsired products and even collaborations with other high-fashion brands.

Designer: Balenciaga

The latest brand to be hit with the mysterious but still very real Crocs fever is Spanish luxury fashion brand Balenciaga. For their Fall 2022 campaign, they have added a Crocs product – the Crocs Tote Bag. Yes, it’s a tote bag for those who seem to want to bring half of their house while moving around but carrying the unique Crocs design. Not only does it have the classic perforation in the middle of the bag, it is also made out of the same rubber material that the Crocs shoes are made from. It is an open-top tote design with two handles at the top.

If the large tote bag is a bit too much for you, there’s a slightly less-loud and smaller version, a Balenciaga Crocs phone holder. It basically follows the same design as the tote bag but this time it will only fit your smartphone and maybe some bills or calling cards. It has a longer strap so you can just carry it around with you when going around and you don’t need to bring a bag. The large tote is available in pink, green, or black while the phone holder comes in green and black.

The love affair between Balenciaga and Crocs is an ongoing saga as they previously release slide sandals, boots, and even a version of the Crocs with heels. If you’re not a fan of this aesthetic of course you’d be laughing at this partnership. But even if you don’t have any strong feelings about Crocs, you can maybe objectively say this isn’t the best-designed Balenciaga products. Fans of this kind of design though would need to shell out $1,250 for the tote bag and $775 for the phone holder. That may be too much for something that’s meh at best, hilarious at worst.

These crocs designed with a paracord, carabiner and compass double as a survival kit

Crocs have been in the limelight this year, striking partnerships with popular celebrities like Bad Bunny and Justin Bieber that sold like hot cakes worldwide – while also collaborating with names like Beams and Dead x Chinatown. The designer crocs have been eye-popping (for better or worse) and going with the momentum, they’ve struck another partnership to design a pair of crocs worthy of a hip adventurer’s closet. This time around it’s New York-based designer Nicole McLaughlin, known for her upcycling and sustainable fashion crafts, who’s given the classic clog silhouette a makeover, visually and utility-wise. According to her, “A single sentence shouldn’t define an item, we should be finding ways to tell stories through what we create.”

Dubbed the Nicole McLaughlin x Crocs Classic Clog, they are a part of the third and final collaborative release from the Project Greenhouse x Crocs in close quarters with Foot Locker’s innovative division. Pushing the classic clog boundaries, the partnership brings, “comfort to post-rock climbing and the outdoors,” inspiration that’s, “rooted in cozy functionality.” The crocs are in a way an all-in-one survival kit – with add ons like a headlamp, stuff sack, paracord, small bundle of rope, compass, and carabiner. To make sure these things are securely stored during treacherous hikes, there are ankle-high maroon and olive green gaiters that should also double as weather insulators and ankle support. These gaiters have two pockets on the heel for storing small items and one of them even has a zipper for keeping safe your cash or maybe a flintstone.

If need be the accessories on the crocs can be removed at will if they make a too loud appearance when not needed. None of them add to the weight of the crocs which is utterly important during long hikes, and that’s a good thing. The crocs are an overkill, stuffing all the goodies into the small form-factor, and for a price tag of $79.99, they sure are a worthy bargain. Be mindful though, since the crocs are for casual wear only, don’t even think of using them for a professional camping expedition in harsh winter!

This Nike X Crocs collaborative concept doesn’t seem so absurd in 2020

One is literally the biggest sports apparel company in the world, and the other is a viral sensation turned into a fashion faux-pas. It’s unlikely that Nike and Crocs would ever collaborate just because it’s perhaps one of the unholiest of unions, but let’s take a second to appreciate this conceptual ‘what-if’ product from the mind of Kegan McDaniel.

Say hello to probably the most bizarre shoe collab in history. This pair of Nike Air-Jordans X Crocs collaborative clogs surely will make you feel a bunch of things, including, hopefully, a second reckoning. While the idea of footwear co-created by Nike, Jordan, and Crocs may sound absurd at first, these clogs honestly don’t look all that bad. I mean hey, I’d wear them… probably.

The shoes come in the distinctive single-piece design that’s archetypal with the Crocs brand, with a silhouette that seems familiar too. Its details, however, borrow influences directly from the Air Jordan 1, with a perforated toebox and that iconic swoosh that wraps around the back of your foot, becoming the heel-strap.

Honestly, the Nike X Crocs footwear are a bit of an acquired taste. They’ll almost definitely evoke a negative reaction at first sight (sort of like looking at the Yeezy flip flops for the first time), but after a while you’ll definitely warm up to the idea them. After all, it’s 2020. Weirder things have happened.

This design is purely a conceptual piece of work and isn’t affiliated with the Nike, Air Jordans, or the Crocs brand in any way.

KFC Teams up with Crocs to Make the Weirdest Shoes Ever

KFC’s marketing folks have some really strange ideas. Over the years, they’ve made chicken-scented fireplace logs, gravy-scented candles, and a Colonel Sanders bearskin rug. They’re either insane or just mad geniuses, because they’ve got me talking about their brand yet again.

Now, the home of fried chicken is collaborating with casual footwear maker Crocs to produce a pair of KFC-themed shoes.

The KFC Crocs are dressed up to look like the fast food chain’s iconic red-and-white-striped buckets and boxes, with their uppers printed with photorealistic fried chicken. To top it all off, they come with with a pair of charms which look like tiny drumsticks, and actually smell the part. I guess that’s one way to cover up foot odor – with fried chicken. If you don’t want your feet to smell like the Colonel’s original recipe, you can always remove the charms.

To top things off, the company released this totally bonkers promotional video, in which Korean fashion artist MLMA cooked up a pair of one-off chicken shoes with raised platform soles.

If you want a pair of KFC Crocs for some strange reason, you can sign up on the Crocs website to be notified when they’re available. They’re expected this Spring for about $60.

Chewbacca Fur Crocs? Yes, They Exist

chewbacca-crocs-1

In a short while, everything will be Star Wars merchandise. Star Wars tacos? Probably. Star Wars toilet paper? I bet that already exists. I mean, if someone somewhere thought it would be a good idea to make fur-lined Chewbacca Crocs, then what’s not off limits? They come in men and women’s sizes up to 13 and 12 respectively, and each one includes a permanently attached Chewbacca™ badge, and the bottom band matches Chewbacca’s belt. If you’re going to wear the abomination that are Crocs, well, we suppose you might as well do it while displaying your love for Star Wars, which only partly redeems your questionable taste. They’re $60.

Chewbacca Crocs: ChewCroca?

Sorry to all you middle-aged dudes I see wearing Crocs, but your shoes are pretty darned ugly. I wouldn’t be caught dead in them. What you see here may be the only way that Crocs could even approach looking cool, yet even Chewbacca’s fur and bandolier detailing somehow fail to make these ugly shoes hip.

As Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released soon, we are seeing all kinds of new merchandise. Some of it is awesome. Some, not so much.

They are literally two walking carpets. On Crocs shoes. What a crock! Really, it’s like Bigfoot wore these and just never cleaned them out.

These Crocs with a Chewbacca theme come in both kid’s and adult sizes. You can bet that regardless of my opinion, plenty of people will wear them.
