The Strap Extinguisher is a convenient and intuitive twist on the fire extinguisher that can be used with only one hand. When pulling the strap over the body and on the shoulder, the safety pin connecting the strap and nozzle is instantly pulled out so it’s ready to use immediately.
Carried over the shoulder, the user can keep one hand free to guide others or help navigate their way to safety. This paired with intuitive operation make rapid response possible and prevent confusion in time-sensitive emergency situations.
The Strap Extinguisher is a winner of the K-Design Award for the year 2017.

We’ve seen so many concepts tackle the functionality of a fire-extinguisher, helping it perform better, be carried easily, save lives. However, BLEND tackles the fire extinguisher’s aesthetic itself. BLEND aims at giving fire extinguishers a completely new lease of life by integrating them into the home better. Avoiding the “use only in an emergency” image – Blend is a user-friendly extinguisher. Designed by Wooseok KIM, BLEND was made with the harmony of the daily living space in mind, and with the vision of being managed intuitively by any user. Made from a semi-translucent polycarbonate, the internal levels of the fire extinguisher are gauged from a quick glance at the body. BLEND also has the use of a mood light during inactivity – with this added functionality, one can find a fire extinguisher easier in a smoke-filled room.
Additionally, there is a smoke detection sensor enables the user to stay safe in any instance. Truly a funky reimagination of a traditionally seen object, BLEND is a prime example of how to sneak (what was once seen as) hideous safety objects into the house by re-thinking and redesigning for future living.
Did you know that your fire extinguisher has an expiration date? That’s icing on the cake for a product that so few of us actually know how to use in the first place! The Ramifire is a modern, smart extinguisher that’s designed for more than just enhanced ergonomics and intuitive use.
It also pairs wirelessly with your smartphone and features a built-in fire detector. In the event of a fire, it will alert users immediately and help them locate the extinguisher. Better yet, it will alert when it’s time to replace the unit to help ensure you’re always prepared.
Who has time to read instructions when your house or office are going up in flames?! The Senik fire extinguisher was designed with human reaction in mind. Because time is crucial and minds are racing during emergency fire situations, it makes activating and using as easy as can be so you can do less panicking and more extinguishing.
Conceptualized to be a subscription product service, the refillable units are conveniently stored in accessible areas. To access, users must simply punch a yellow button that releases the extinguisher while simultaneously creating an internal chemical reaction that will immediately begin emitting an extinguishing mist.
Its angled body is both ergonomic and ensures the user will direct the spray at the most effective angle. Just in case, simple instructions are located on the side for quick direction on how to use.
The common fire extinguisher requires that you use both hands but what if your other hand is holding an infant, injured, or well… missing! The HAND FireEx takes these scenarios into consideration and provides a way to extinguish fires by using one single hand.
The specialized handle supports the forearm, making it easy to lift. This combined with its unique shape also increase stability while spraying and reduce pressure on the hand aiming at the fire. In emergency situations, users can activate and operate it in one easy motion with just one hand, saving valuable time.
Take one look at your typical fire extinguisher and you’ll agree they’re not all that intuitive to use. Take one look at Firo and you’ll know exactly how to use it!
That’s the beauty behind this innovative reimagining of the household extinguisher. Simply squeeze the trigger. Yes, we should (in theory) teach ourselves to use our available extinguisher but very few of us actually do. Additionally, taking time to read the instructions during an emergency isn’t sensible considering that mere seconds can mean the difference between life and death. Even if you’ve never seen Firo, you’ll know to pull the trigger to safely extinguish small fires. Better yet, it’s super-slim design makes it easy and convenient to keep in a handy place!
Fire Extinguishers are strange products, psychologically speaking. You want them, but you don’t want to have to use them. When you do, you want them to work perfectly. Ideally, though, you wish you wouldn’t have to require them. That creates this strange sort of dynamic in terms of functionality.
Most fire extinguishers don’t get used at all in their life cycle and maybe that’s why they haven’t been designed to the best of their ability. Twist, however, changes that with its new design and functional overhaul. Focusing primarily on the three most important areas of the extinguisher; the hose, the mechanism, and the ergonomics… the Twist creates a new type of extinguisher category that follows the norms of extinguisher design, but essentially creates a product that eliminates any sort of learning curve. The handle, for starters, is located on the top in a way that makes single handed carrying simple. The switch mechanism is easy to understand and implement, and the centrally located switch means left as well as right-handed people can use the extinguisher efficiently. A coiled hose sits on the inside, being hidden from the eye when not in use. When the need arises, one can simply pull the hose outwards and aim with one hand while the other hand supports the extinguisher. Quite a fresh approach, don’t you think??
When you’re camping, all it takes is a few forgotten embers from the campfire to turn your dream getaway into a total nightmare! Each year, tents and campers’ belongings go up in flames because of fire mishaps.
Similar to an integrated indoor fire sprinkler system, the Campinguard was designed to combat these disaster situations. It’s a light, a fire alarm device and an automatic fire extinguishing system in one. If a fire occurs in a tent, the fire detection alarm will sound, the LED lights are turned on and an extinguishing liquid will be dispensed to extinguish the fire. Campers can simply hang it in their tent and rest assured that they and their belongings will be safe and sound!
Campinguard is a 2015 Red Dot Award: Design Concept winner.
Personally, safety is much more important to me than any other instinct. Survival first, fittest later, if you get what I mean. Which is why the Safety iQ Saver Emergency Breath System is something I advocate every home have, even before owning a Fire Extinguisher. The Saver Emergency Breath System is a face-fitting device that purifies dense, smoky air, allowing you to safely reach a secure location, away from danger. More than just being a mask, the Saver is a complete set of air filters that can provide pure, breathable air for 5 minutes, while it takes only 5 seconds to put on. It comes with a nose-clip too, to prevent accidental nasal inhalation of smoke. Its small size means you can literally carry one around in a bag, being prepared for when you may, or someone else may need it in a time of emergency. Isn’t that just wonderfully innovative?
The best place to keep a fire extinguisher is somewhere where you can reach for it quickly. Same goes for wine, so I guess it makes sense that your fire extinguisher should look like a bottle of wine. Plus, this extinguisher in disguise allows you to keep everything aesthetically pleasing. Normally these things stick out like a sore thumb.
Now you don’t have to hide them in cabinets, under the sink, or somewhere else out of sight and that means it is within reach in case of a fire. That’s why The Wine Bottle Fire Extinguisher is so brilliant. It looks just like a standard bottle of red wine.
It’s $149(USD) and comes in a wooden gift box. Your wife will love it because it blends into the environment.
