Grab a Tin-foil Hat for You and Your Cat

Do you and your cat believe in conspiracy theories? Like that we never landed on the moon because Stanley Kubrick filmed the whole thing on a soundstage? Or that reptiles run our government? Hmmmm. Okay, let’s not count that second one out just yet. Anyway, if you and your feline pal believe that aliens are controlling your minds, what you need are these  pre-made Tin-Foil Hats for humans and cats from Archie McPhee.

The cat one looks like a cat yarmulke from the year 3000, while the human version looks like something that the workers in the Hershey’s Kisses factory should wear. They’re designed to protect you from government mind-control, alien mind-control, and alien butt probing, to name a few of its uses. Or at least they would protect you from that stuff if they weren’t made out of mylar. Yeah, not even real tin foil. How is this supposed to stop government radio waves from making you do bad stuff?

I guess Archee McPhee is in on the conspiracy, and they don’t want you protected from the evil that is out there. I’m on to you, AM. You’re nothing but a damn company of reptiles in league with the reptile government. As long as I have aluminum foil, I’m safe from you. I can’t cook dinner because it’s all on my head, but at least I’m safe.

Turn Your Cat into a Vegetable with These Wacky Japanese Hats

Cat people, are you looking for a new way to humiliate your kitty? Look no further than these vegetable hats from Japan. These are guaranteed to annoy your cat and make them hate you forever.

The cat hats come in six ridiculous styles, including corn, carrot, white radish, onion, tomato, and eggplant. So if you’ve got more than one cat, you can fix yourself a plate of hostile looking mixed veggies. Mr. Noodles is so going to scratch your eyeballs out in the middle of the night for this.

The cat hats sell for ¥300 each (about $2.80 USD), and can be found in those toy capsule machines in Japan – or you can order a pack of 50 for about $100 if you want to hand out a bunch to your cat-loving friends.

Thor and Captain America Winter Hats Are MARVELously Warm

If there’s one thing I learned from my mother, it’s that 250% of my body heat leaves through my head and I need to put a hat on or I’ll catch a death of cold. That said, I still don’t wear hats in the winter as much as I really should. Maybe I’d wear a hat more often if it looked like one of these.

Avenge the cold this winter with these cozy looking and officially-licensed Thor and Captain America hats. While they’re both likely to keep your head warm, Thor design is definitely the better of the two with its helmet-inspired shape and mighty Mjolnir icon.

Captain America fans will have to settle for a more traditional hunter’s cap, just decked out with the Cap’s shield/logo on their dome. But those ear flaps do sure look warm and fuzzy at least, and if you’re going to be frozen in the ice for 70 years, your head shouldn’t be cold, should it?

Both hats are available exclusively from ThinkGeek, and sell for $24.99(USD) each.

Own This Awesome Light-up Helmet Replica Based on Jamiroquai “Automaton” Video

For the longest time, the coolest headgear out of the world of music had to be Daft Punk’s iconic helmets, and Deadmau5’s light up mouse head. But earlier this year, Jay Kay of Jamiroquai donned a fantastic helmet not just loaded up with colorful LEDs, but motorized pieces which could change form.

Now, the guys over at 10KLumen are showing off an amazing replica build of the helmet, which looks exactly like the one in the Automaton music video. It lights up, changes colors, and even has servos to move the bits of spiky, translucent plastic “hair” into different positions. I especially dig the illuminated “eyebrows.” Check it out in action in the video below:

Here’s the original music video for comparison:

It looks pretty darned close to the one in the music video. People are really going to be amazed if you turn up at dance party or a Halloween costume party wearing this thing.

Best of all, you can buy one of these amazing helmet replicas for yourself for $450(USD), which I don’t think is all that expensive given all of the work that must have gone into engineering this thing.

Atari Introduces a Hat with Speakers

Proving that they are on the bleeding edge of technology, Atari has announced that it’s working on a new line of wearables. The first product in the “Atari Connected Life” line? A Speakerhat, powered by Audiowear. I’ve never seen that before.

The Speakerhat is a baseball cap with embedded high quality speakers in its bill, and a microphone that uses Bluetooth to connect to devices. Atari also promises “a fundamentally new social audio experience” with Multiplayer Mode. This basically lets multiple users listen to a single audio stream via Bluetooth. Ummm, okay. People have been gathering around speakers for years already.

They also announced that they are partnering with NECA, a company that makes collectibles, to introduce a limited edition Blade Runner 2049 Speakerhat this fall. Cool, I guess.

Hats off to Boba Fett with the Boba Bowler

We always thought that Boba Fett was a true man’s man. If he grew up in the Victorian era, he’d be a proper gentleman, and he’d wear this hat.

This Mandalorian bowler hat is made by the the folks at The Blonde Swan, and it’s truly awesome. It’s made from real leather, handcut, stitched, and formed with a curled brim. It’s such a great hat, I bet that it would save you from being eaten by a Sarlacc. At least your head.

The Boba Bowler is available over on The Blond Swan’s Etsy shop for about $600. Now all we need is a backpack with jets.

Deadpool Beanie Will Keep Your Dome Warm While Munching on Quesadillas

Deadpool was the greatest Marvel movie I have seen so far. I really liked the flick. Sure, I’m not a “real” fan of Deadpool since I don’t read the comics, but I think Ryan Reynolds did a great job playing the Merc with a Mouth. Deadpool fans who have cold heads might want this to grab this beanie.

It looks like Deadpool’s mask and they totally missed the boat by not making it a ski mask. It has Deadpool’s eyes on it and is made from red jersey knit cotton/spandex blend. It’s no merino wool, but hey it’s got your favorite merc printed on it.

If you have a big cabeza, note that it measures 20-inches around unstretched – not that most of us have any idea how many inches around our heads are. You can get yours for $19.99(USD) at ThinkGeek and keep your dome warm all winter long.

Ewok Beanie Will Keep Your Yub Nub Warm

It’s not even mid-October yet here in Colorado and already it’s been colder than it got back in my old home state of Texas for most of the winter. This means that things like gloves and hats that I never needed before are now required. My daughter has been wanting a hat to keep her ears warm, and I think this Ewok Kids’ Beanie would be perfect. It’s cute with Wicket’s head on the hat.

ewok-beanie

It has ears and a fuzzy face just like the real, fake creature from Endor. I’d like to know why we haven’t seen Ewoks back on any of the Star Wars flicks since Return of the Jedi. It’s time, I say.

The beanie should be warm with its 100% acrylic construction and fleece lining, but the one downside is that it can’t be machine washed. Get yours for $14.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.
