Home to a unique perspective of the Melbourne Vista; at the luxury lounge bar Crown’s Club 23, where memories are made and elite retreat to a glamorous evening, an award-winning in-house Australian mixologist Joel Heffernan will now concoct a $12,500 cocktail to break the current world record for the world’s most expensive cocktail held by $8,830 ‘Salvatore’s Legacy’, which was recently developed by world’s acclaimed mixologist Salvatore Calabrese ‘The Maestro’. Set to be claimed as a Guinness world record, the basis of the cocktail will be a bottle of vintage 1858 Croizet cognac, which is already a world record holder for being valued at $157,000. Interestingly, the cocktail will be named ‘Winston’ as in tribute to Britain’s former Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who’s on the eve of D-Day back in 1944 is said to have shared a rare bottle of 1858 Croizet with Allies commander General Dwight Eisenhower. Besides, we have also earlier seen the Asia’s most expensive cocktail, the ‘Jewel of Pangaea’ developed by Singapore club Pangaea and luxury jeweler Mouawad.
