Minecraft: Wii U Edition Super Mario Mash Up Pack: Super Money Maker
Nintendo is slowly but surely reaching out to other platforms and game developers to stay competitive. One of its latest collaborations was with none other than Minecraft maker Mojang, resulting in a free update to Minecraft: Wii U Edition that adds a ton of Mario-themed goodies.
Arriving on May 17, the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack consists of a pre-made Super Mario-themed world as well as new item textures, skins and music based on classic Mario games.
The pack will also be built into the disc version of the game, which is available for pre-order now and will be released on June 17.
Fake Bob Ross Builds a Super Mario Level
I spent many a summer day watching Bob Ross paint on PBS growing up. He made it look so easy and there were never mistakes, only happy little birds and happy little trees. I always figured Bob was high as a MF when he made his show.
The geeks over at A Dumb Thing dressed a guy up in a giant curly ‘fro wig and set him to painting digitally by building a level in Super Mario Maker, using the Wii U’s controller as his artist’s pallette. It’s awesomely weird, just like the real Joy of Painting show.
This should be a thing with multiple episodes. Fake Bob Ross should teach us all sorts of stuff. I’d totally watch that show.

Hyperkin ProCube Wii U Controller Smashes the Need for Wiimotes
Despite its unorthodox shape and button layout, the GameCube controller has earned a cult following, especially among Smash Bros. fans. Gaming peripheral makers such as Horii and PDP have released Wii U controllers that mimic the GameCube, but those are wired and need to be plugged into a Wii Remote. That’s why Hyperkin came up with the ProCube.
The ProCube is a combination of the GameCube controller and the Wii U Pro Controller. It has that unique layout but it’s also wireless, has Home, + and – buttons, and it works with all games that support the Pro Controller.
Hyperkin sells the ProCube for $30 (USD) each.
