Guessing Game # 15

What is this? Hair…maybe, but definitely not on your face! I am in a Christmassy-giving mood already, so this much hint will suffice.

YD regulars, you know the rules…new folks – this is just a fun game where you have to guess what the product is by looking at this preview. Details are inside. No prizes for guessing but just loads of admiration and love!

Thabto Moustache Door Mat is a quality natural coir doormat. It is sure to add a ‘tache’ of character to your doorstep. Real gentlemen (& of course ladies) wipe their feet before entering any decent establishment. What better way to do so than on these wonderful whiskers?

Dressing Up The MacBook

The thing with buying Apple products is that you can’t dress them up in just any old accessories. Whatever you use has to be of top-notch quality, befitting the Jobs legacy. For example, the new MacBook Pro with its shimmy new features deserves a sleeve from the Carga Sleeve Collection. Basically these hand-assembled sleeves are done in small batches using single-piece vegetable tanned leather. Elastic and leather closures add a dash of panache.

The Sleeves are designed for the Apple portable range:

  • 13″ MacBook Pro and MacBook Air
  • 15″ MacBook Pro
  • The Sleeves are unpadded / unlined leather, offering scratch resistance while maintaining a slim, elegant profile.
  • The ‘old-school’ envelope look and high quality leather provide an understated counterpoint to high-tech devices.
  • No chemicals were used to treat the bag.
  • Carga Leather MacBook 15″ Sleeve is available @ YD Store $215.00 Special Price: $193.00
  • Carga Leather MacBook 13” sleeve is available @ YD Store $205.00 Special Price $184.00

Globetrotting From Home

My first introduction to the world of maps was this magnificent wooden globe, placed in my father’s office. The times when it became impossible to understand the trade-winds route or memorize the landmarks and seas, I’d turn to this globe for help and learn it all up in a jiffy. Times have changed now and affording one of those antique globes is just a far fetched dream. However a contemporary and kitsch take on the maps is here in the form of the Color Maps. They come in four sweet themes: Midnight, Chocolate, City Lights and Pop Color Maps.

Destroying Violence Through Peace

The grenade, revolver and the nunchucks are instruments of violence and destruction. Playing on the maxim of the pen being mightier than the sword, a selection of notebooks bearing this symbolic gesture encourages us to convert violence to a tool of peace. Our creativity and knowledge expressed through words and sketches are the best means to get our points across, not through force and/or violence.

I have always been a fan of fridge magnets; it is one of the sleekest ways to stay in touch with family via notes and even be in the loop with latest family happenings. As an avid collector I try and pick up unique ones from different parts of the world, and if you’re my kinda collector then I am sure you will enjoy this showcase of three very quirky and different magnets. The Keyboards And Coasters Story

The first thing that I added to my workstation, when I became a serious online writer, was a set of coasters. Coffee mugs, water bottle and last minute sandwich plates have a knack of leaving a stain and messing up a perfectly clean table-top. Hence to maintain the sanctity of my sacred space, a coaster became a must. If you are as finicky about keeping your desk as spotless as me, then the Keyboard Coasters is a quirky solution that I recommend. Perhaps it’s that geek-quotient of keyboard design that is striking, nevertheless, it’s worth a try.

Package includes a set of 4 coasters: 2 black coasters and 2 white coasters

Backup Power Portable

I consider apps as a necessary evil, I need them to be productive and at the same time they drain my iPhone at the most unexpected times. A power backup or portable recharger has become a compulsion for people like me. However design sensibilities often keep me away from dodgy chargers that juice up the iPhone and iPod but at the cost of ugly looks. When I spied the clever Plug Battery Charger, I was totally tickled by its take on the plug! Sweet!
