One speedboat piloted by the world’s most celebrated footballer David Beckham during its cruise down the River Thames, carrying the Olympic torch on the final leg of its journey to the Olympic Park was the 2008 ‘Torchbearer’ Bladerunner BR RIB 35. Now, that very same sleek, futuristic boat built by British yard Ice Marine, and used during the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony will be up for grabs at the Bonhams sale at Mercedes-Benz World Brooklands on December 3rd. This very piece of British sporting history, which comes complete with its original heavy customization appointments, is expected to garner a handsome price of $402,600.

Regarded as one of the world’s best looking and most preeminent yachts custom built by The Feadship De Vries Shipyard back in 1990 for relentless investor and Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen, this Feadship 46.88 m Charade yacht was also host to Bill Gates for his Hawaiian honeymoon in 1994, besides the setting for Giorgio Armani’s star-studded party for few his Hollywood pals.

Steve Jobs Yacht "Venus" controlled by iMacs is all set to sail

Named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty, the exclusively-new yacht ‘Venus’ boasting sleek and minimalist design directly inspired by Apple, is late Steve Jobs’s dream luxury yacht reportedly seen for the first time at shipbuilder Koninklijke De Vries ‘Feadship’s’ facility in the Dutch city of Aalsmeer, just over a year after the Apple founder’s death on 5th October. Controlled by a series of seven, 27-inch iMacs duly set-up in the yacht’s control room, this 230 to 260 feet long yacht, is the result of collaboration of two geniuses of their respective fields; Steve Jobs, renowned for his visionary leadership and innovation, and Philippe Starck, a French product designer renowned as a legend of modern design.

Named after Einstein’s famous theory, this newest mega motor-yacht was actually created with a particular ‘client’ in mind, as the Feadship speculated on how brilliant scientist Albert Einstein might have used a custom Feadship superyacht to spread a message of knowledge and innovation around the world. Interestingly, the legendary scientist Einstein also had a great passion for sailing, and in his lifetime he owned various yachts.
