Casio’s vintage Pac-Man edition watch is just quirky enough to be a great memorabilia!

Who can forget the sound of the Pack-Man chomping down on the pellets (or cookies) while avoiding the colored ghosts? Hours would feel like minutes playing the title in the good ol’ childhood days. Even to date, the arcade game is legendary in terms of how it influenced our lives and shaped the era of the gaming industry as a whole. To bring back nostalgic memories of the golden times where arcade games were all the rage, Casio has joined forces with Bandai Namco to create a timepiece that’s got a lot of history associated with it. In fact, Casio has revived the memories of their own classic watch from 1978 which was worn by Ellen Ripley and other characters in the movie Alien, back then. Yes, I’m talking about the F-100 digital watch that’s now got a Pak-Man influence in a big way thanks to this collaboration!

It’s like a match made in heaven where two classics fuse to bring a modern-day timepiece to life in a playful design inspired by the world of arcade gaming. I bet you nerds are going to drool all over the Casio A100WEPC Pac-Man edition watch with the golden dial emulating the game cabinet and the Illuminator text (right below the old school time display) resembling the Pac-Man’s pixelated font! The same theme follows down to the classic matte black stainless steel strap which has the Pack-Man’s in-game motifs etched on it. One can’t help but notice the ghosts chasing the Pack-Man and vice-versa when the hero gobbles down the fruits to turn them blue for a feast. Not surprisingly, the case back follows suit with the classic in-game screen etched into the stainless steel covering.

This special edition Casio watch comes with an equally iconic packaging with all the game logos, characters and gameplay perfectly emulated on all sides. Thus far, there is no word on the availability of the Casio A100WEPC Pac-Man edition watch, but the product page does mention the pricing to be 12,100 Japanese Yen (approximately $113). Nonetheless, watch collectors who are big-time Pack-Man fans will want to add this to their collection ultimately when it arrives!

Casio G-SHOCK Avengers Watch Collection: Time Assemble!

If you feel like you need more Avengers in your life after Endgame, Casio has your back. I mean your wrist. As long as you are in China anyway. I’m not sure why this isn’t happening in the US. Hey, we love the Avengers here.

The official Casio G-SHOCK Avengers Collection consists of three custom Avengers-themed G-SHOCK timepieces, each inspired by the most iconic superheroes of the team like Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. The top three, baby!

Each watch has the colors synonymous to the character but they also have printed details on the straps too, and a character logo engraved on the case back. And each has custom packaging too. Captain America and Iron Man are the GA-110 model each in their own respective colors, while Spidey is based on the DW-5600 model.

The Casio G-Shock Avengers Collection can be found at G-Shock Store Shanghai and G-Shock Store Beijing where Cap and Iron Man go for 1,590 yuan each (~$230 USD), while Spidey sells for 1,190 yuan (~$172 USD). These watches look damn good. This is likely to be a highly collectible line of watches, so if you can get one imported from China, you should go for it.

CASIO G-SHOCK Gundam Collection Puts a Mech on Your Wrist

Gundam fans have some sweet new collectables, and they look amazing. This collection of Gundam-themed G-SHOCK watches from CASIO are made to celebrate Gundam’s 40th anniversary. Can you believe the mech franchise been around for four decades?

There are four watches in the series, each with colors and designs inspired by Gundam, including RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06S Char’s Zaku II, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee.

Aside from good looks, each of these watches comes with a “Haro” storage container with the RX-78-2 Gundam, RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee in Green Haro while Char’s Zaku in Zaku Red Haro storage. In case you didn’t know, “Haro” is the ball-like robot that can transform from ball to robot.

The Casio G-SHOCK x Gundam Collection will be available on CASIO’s China ecommerce store on Taobao in mid-2019. The RX-78-2 is 1,390 yuan (~$207 USD), Char’s Zaku II is 1,090 yuan ($163 USD), RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is 1,090 yuan (~$163 USD) and the Banshee is 1,690 yuan (~$252 USD).

Aside from looking way cooler, these watches are pretty much the same G-SHOCKs you know already, with all the same features and functionality.

This Casio G-Shock Watch Transforms into Optimus Prime

Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy has teamed up with Casio to make a very cool watch and watch holder combo. Casio Japan has introduced this special edition G-Shock x Transformers DW-6900TF and it is amazing. This set is being released to celebrate 35 years of G-Shock and the 35th anniversary of Transformers in 2019.

You get a watch with Optimus Prime’s color scheme of red and blue, along with a transformable Optimus Prime figure that doubles as a watch holder. I mean, just look at how cool this thing is. The watch displays in either “pedestal” mode or in robot form. Or you can wear it. The G-Shock 5600 or 6900 also fits in the watch holder too.

The G-Shock x Transformers DW-6900TF-SET will be officially available on December 8, 2018 for 29,000 yen before tax (~$257 USD). I’m hoping they offer some other Transformers watch sets as well. This one is really damn cool. I wouldn’t mind having a few of these lined up on my desk.

The bad news? Well, sadly this is a Japan-only deal. I know. I’m depressed too. Why do they always get me so excited and then pull the Japan-exclusive crap on me? It’s so mean. It’s abuse really. America deserves this too you know.
