iRig HD 2 Musical Instrument Interface Ready to Rock
Musicians rejoice! IK Multimedia just dropped a big update to their iRig HD interface, making it the best way yet to connect musical instruments to your iOS device, PC or Mac. The iRig HD 2 lets you connect guitars, basses, and other instruments to digital devices, and lets you record, tweak and tune sounds to your heart’s content.
The latest version of the iRig HD not only has a 1/4″ Hi-Z input jack, and outputs for Lightning or USB devices, but it’s got a headphone jack with level control, and a 1/4″ output you can hook up to an external amplifier. That port lets you either directly pass through or apply any effects in real time. It’s also got a clip on back that makes it easy to hang on a microphone stand.
The iRig HD 2 samples sounds at a high-resolution 96kHz sample rate to preserve optimal quality, and has a 24-bit D/A converter. IK also includes a copy of AmpliTube 4 for Mac & PC ($149 value) as well as the unlocked version of AmpliTube for iOS ($19.99 value). These apps allow you to add all kinds of realistic effects to your music, from simulating specific amplifier acoustic profiles, to stomp box effects like reverb, wahwah, chorus, flanger, and more.
Of course, you can use other music software with iRig HD 2 as well, like Garage Band, Cubase or Logic Pro. iRig HD2 interface is available now for just $99(USD), and is a must have for any musician’s toolkit.
