Kingston hits back with a new line of microSD UHS-I cards, the Industrial Temperature microSD UHS-I. Available in four different storage capacities: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, these tiny cards come with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, FAT32 format (8GB-32GB models), exFAT format (64GB model) and an industrial operational temperature of -40-degree C to 85-degree C making them perfect for harsh environments.

Furthermore, these cards are tested to be waterproof, temperature proof, shock/vibration proof and X-ray proof, so you can rest assured your photos, videos and other important files will be protected.

Performance-wise, the Industrial Temperature microSD UHS-I cards can deliver read/write speeds of up to 90/20 MB/s (8GB model) and 90/45 MB/s (16GB-64GB models), respectively. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Product Page]

CES 2016: Kingston Showed 1TB SSD Drives and Encrypted USBs

Kingston and HyperX also had their time to shine during CES 2016 in Las Vegas, the world’s biggest technology fair. Among several news, they announced new 1TB SSD drives and professionally encrypted USB drives, with even a new version of the HyperX Cloud headset which is exclusive for the Xbox One. Kingston had many great news for technology enthusiasts throughout CES 2016 in Las Vegas. The tech giant, best known for its PC components and drives, introduced many new versions of what might be their best products, the SSD drives. The new KC400 solid state unit from the SSDNow family is meant for entrepreneurship and business, and is up to 15 times faster than a regular hard drive. This drive is special for featuring data protection and SmartECC to avoid data loss (at the users’ hands or a third party) and the smartrefresh protection for all kind of writing errors. The KC400 will come in several sizes, including 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and the glorious 1TB drive, more than anyone could possibly need.

Besides these new gadgets, Kingston also introduced their new USB Data Traveler 2000, which will be available in the first quarter of 2016, with hardware based encryption with NIP (coded) through a physical keypad featured straight on the pendrive itself. The Data Traveler 2000 can do complete AES encryption of data of 256 bits based on the XTS mode on hardware. In order to bring additional security to this device, it’s auto lock function activates as soon as the unit is removed from its host device, while the encryption key and password delete themselves after 10 failed attempts to introduce a proper pass. It comes in three sizes, featuring 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.

There were also some products for the gamers, with the HyperX line announcing a new entry in the HyperX CloudX series, with a  whole revision of the Hyper X Cloud II headphones which were a huge hit among the gaming community. These new headphones are exclusive for the Xbox One gaming console by Microsoft, and they can be connected straight to the 3.5mm jack in every recent Xbox One controller. Historically, the Cloud II has always been about providing the best possible experience to the “PC Gaming Master Race”, but now they are also coming to gaming consoles so everyone can join in the fun and see just how cool these headsets are.

It’s thanks to these new concepts and an exclusivity arrangement with Microsoft and the Xbox Division that the new HyperX CloudX Pro Gaming will be available at the end of the second quarter of 2016 exclusively for Xbox One consoles.

The HyperX CloudX come with 53mm controllers, control for volume, and uses padded “memory foam” for the ears for the perfect fit. It comes with a microphone that the user can mount if they need it, a portable hard case, and many custom details for a better finish and a more professional look.

Here we have a new line of enterprise SSDs from Kingston, the SSDNow KC400. Available in four different storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, these slim 2.5-inch SSDs (7mm thick) are built with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a quad-core, 8-channel Phison PS3110-S10 controller, SmartECC & SmartRefresh functions and an MTBF of 1 million hours.

In terms of performance, the SSDNow KC400 can deliver read/write speeds of up 550/450 MB/s (128GB model), 550/540 MB/s (256GB model) and 550/530 MB/s (512GB and 1TB models), respectively. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Product Page]

Kingston has introduced a new line of USB 3.1 flash drives namely the HyperX Savage. Available in three different storage capacities including 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, these plug and play USB flash drives boast a sleek black casing that is accented with the signature HyperX logo in metallic red and come with a USB 3.1 connection interface (backwards compatible: USB 3.0 and USB 2.0).

Supporting Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 (SP1), Vista (SP2), Mac OS X 10.8.x or later, Linux 2.6.x or later and Chrome OS operating systems, these high-speed USB flash drives promise to deliver read/write speeds of up to 350/180 MB/s (64GB model) and 350/250 MB/s (128GB & 256GB models), respectively. Available in three different storage capacities: 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, these slim 2.5-inch 5mm thick SSDs (w/ spacers for 7mm and 9.5mm thickness) are equipped with TLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a quad-core, 8-channel Phison S10 controller and a MTBF of 1 million hours.

In terms of performance, the SSDNow UV300 SSDs promise to deliver read/write speeds of up to 550/350 MB/s (120GB model), 550/490 MB/s (240GB model) and 550/510 MB/s (480GB model), respectively. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Kingston]
