Zero Breeze Is a Battery-Powered and Portable Air Conditioner

Enjoying the outdoors is fun in the summer, but sometimes it’s too hot to be comfortable. That’s when you want to have the Zero Breeze nearby. It is a portable air conditioner that measures just 18.3″ x 6.5″ x 3.8″ and weighs just 8.8 pounds. That small form factor delivers enough cooling power to lower the temperature in a 50-foot room.

It cools things down alright.  It can actually get temperatures to as low as 44.6 degrees Fahrenheit in close quarters if you want to be almost frozen. What makes this especially impressive is that it requires no power outlet. The Zero Breeze comes with a battery dock that can keep it running for five hours between charges. Of course, you can plug it in too, if you’ve got access to an outlet.

It works it’s magic using a rotary compressor with Dupont’s R-134a refrigerant, the same coolant used for the air-conditioning systems in automobiles and home systems. Of course, it can be used indoors as well, but you’ll need to hook it up to the included exhaust hose to get rid of hot air through a window.

The Zero Breeze also doubles as a bluetooth speaker, a nightlight, and will even charge your gadgets. What other air conditioner can do that? Pledges to reserve a unit start at $389(USD) on Kickstarter, and the project has already blown through its goal by nearly 400% with over a month to go.

Tajima Seiryo Jacket Cooling System: Chillicoat

I don’t know about you, but where I am, this summer is just too damn hot. If only I had a jetpack type fan that I could mount to myself to shoot cool air up my spine. Wait! It already exists! The Tajima Seiryo Jacket Cooling System is your own personal air supply.

tajima_cooling_1zoom in

This crazy contraption is a strong clip-on three-speed fan, connected to a flexible silicone funnel, to blow a cool curtain of air all over your body. It basically dries sweat before it has time to stick to your clothes. It’s powered by a large 5,500 mAh battery, which should last between 6 hours and 8.5 hours, depending on the speed setting.

It’s so crazy it just might work. Obviously it looks ridiculous, but if it gets hot enough, this thing will cool you down. Maybe just don’t wear it in public. Check out the video to see it in action, along with Tajima’s similarly silly cooling headgear.

Noria Is an Ultra-compact Window Air Conditioner

Window air conditioners are something that many of us use in the summertime. They work great, but the drawback is that they take up a good amount of window space. They are also heavy and awkward to install. Well, the Noria Air Conditioner changes all of that and makes window air conditioning look sleeker too.

noria_airconditioner_1zoom in

This good looking air conditioner measures just 5.8″ x 18.25″ x 5″ inches and weighs 30 pounds. It also slides in and out of its window mount independently. That makes it much more convenient to install or move from one room to another than a typical window AC unit. It also takes up very little window space, and that means more window so you can enjoy the sun.

The Noria Air Conditioner uses a patent-pending design that allows it cram an air conditioner in such a small form.

One unit can cool rooms up to 160 square feet, with two units able to handle spaces up to 330 square feet. A single knob on the front controls everything and an app allows you to make adjustments remotely. You can get one through the Kickstarter campaign with a pledge of at least $299(USD). Further discounts are available if you order two or more Norias at the same time.

ASUS ROG GX700 Gaming Laptop Has Water-Cooling Dock: Bubble Butt

It used to be that when you said “laptop dock,” all it meant was additional ports and connectivity options. Then came PCI-E adapters that let you use desktop graphics cards with laptops, one of the latest examples being Alienware’s Graphics Amplifier. Now we have ASUS’ GX700, a gaming laptop with a huge water-cooling dock.

The dock will let you overclock the GX700’s currently unspecified Intel Skylake CPU for better performance. The laptop also has the world’s first NVIDIA G-Sync compatible 17″ 4K display, but that’s just a footnote to its bombastic attachment.

Here’s The Verge’s brief eyes-on of the GX700 at the 2015 IFA:

Here’s another one from NewGadgets in case you wanted to see the 4K screen powered up.

You can see more shots of the GX700 on The Verge. Aside from its specs, ASUS is also keeping its lips sealed about the GX700’s price and release date. It most likely won’t be cheap, which kinda makes you wonder why someone who could afford this shouldn’t just get separate laptop and desktop PCs to get the best of both worlds.

Solar Powered Car Ventilator

solar power car ventilator Solar Powered Car Ventilator
Usually the sun makes your car much hotter but with the Kulcar Solar Powered Car Ventilator Solar Powered Car Ventilator the sun can make your car cooler. The Kulcar fits into most any roll down window (note that it will work much better with straight windows as opposed to ones with a slight curve to the top) with the solar panel going outside the car and the fan on the inside.

A rubber strip completes the seal and keeps bugs and small critters out of your vehicle while it’s parked. Since it’s solar powered, it requires no additional power or wires. Just set it up and cool down. Here’s what it looks like inside the car:
kulcar inside Solar Powered Car Ventilator
The Kulcar works by expelling hot air from the vehicle. Since it’s mounted on the top of your car and hot air rises (physics!), the air that is ventilated out is the hottest and your car cools down. Kulcar promised to cool your car by at least 18 degrees F and up to 68 degrees. It replaces the air in your entire vehicle every 90 seconds which not only cools your car down but also eliminates many odors or off-gassing that can occur when dashboards and other parts are exposed to extreme heat.

Silent Power PC Uses Copper Foam For Cooling Instead Of Noisy Fans

silent-power-pc-2

Have you ever turned off all the electronics in your room? Notice just how much quieter everything is? Despite being able to tune these droning sounds out after a while, they’re quite real and it’s only once they’re completely gone that we realize how loud they were. If you manage to get your hands on a Silent Power PC, however, you’ll have that much less white noise to deal with. Its salient feature is its use of an innovative copper foam to dissipate heat, instead of the traditional fans. Since the foam presents such a high surface area and copper is so conductive, the PC never reaches excessive temperatures during regular use. The lowest end setup you can get comes with an Intel quad-core i7-4785T 2.2 GHz processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 500 GB hard drive and should cost around $935. The company’s plan is to be on the market in 2015, after they’ve reached their crowdfunding goals. A post on their blog, however, suggests that Paypal is putting up some roadblocks and have seized their account pending clarifications on their business model. This is standard practice for Paypal, unfortunately, so hopefully the company will clear that up soon and resume work on bringing this innovative PC to market.

Helmet with Built in Fan

The only thing worse than getting bonked on the head by falling objects is having a little sweat on the brow while it happens. Seriously, nothing is worse! Nothing. So keep your head both safe and cool with the Kuchofuku Air-Conditioned Helmet. This helmet has what looks like a dangling fan in a bag over the back of the neck. The battery powered fan can cool your head by up to 44 degrees, allegedly.
helmet with fan Helmet with Built in Fan
Coming from Japan (if you couldn’t tell by the Japanese writing!), I’m guessing that this helmet probably doesn’t exactly meet US safety standards. And despite the “air conditioned” in the name, I’m fairly certain it’s just a fan in there (can anyone read Japanese? leave a comment!) But if you’re in a hardhat required situation where there’s little chance of anything actually falling on your head, then stay cool.
