Literally Twisted Hanger

Mobe, inspired by the mobius strip, is an accessories hanger thoughtfully crafted to be simple, elegant, and highly functional. Though its shape is more complex than the average hanger, its ideal for scarves, ties, and belts. Made from a twisted strip of thin 1.5mm plywood, the design also uses a minimal amount of material.

A Twist on the Hanger

Composed of just two materials, the Bancon hanger features soft padded foam that protects fabric and a wooden, river stone-shaped insert that gives the hanger contour. While it’s larger than your average hanger, the wide form keeps clothes in shape, wrinkle-free, and prevents that annoying shoulder-bump from metal and plastic hangers.

Legend of Zelda Key Hanger: Don’t Forget Your Keys!

It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this. No, not a sword, silly. Your house keys. This clever Zelda key hanger reminds you that you’d better take your keys with you when you walk out the door.

This Zelda key hanger measures 7.25″ x 5.1″ and was made by Etsy seller April Iverson Jessi Stanfil who clearly knows how to grab her keys in style. It’s an awesome geek deal at just $17(USD). It’s available in 1, 2 and 3-hook versions. And it will hang on your wall with no damage to the wall thanks to some 3M picture hangers on the back. That makes it perfect for apartment dwellers – at least those who care about getting their security deposit back.

Grab your keys and head off to save your beloved princess.

‘Bye Bye Laundry’ Hangers Get Rid of the Stink on Your Clothes

Odor-cleansing hangers

Too lazy to do your laundry? Then here’s a bit of good news for you: One day you might not have to do it every day–that is, if British designer Lisa Marie Bengtsson’s Bye Bye Laundry hanger concept catches on. These hangers are made up of a loop that’s attached to a dome encasing oxygen-processed activated charcoal. Instead of washing your clothes, all you’ll have to do is hang them on the loop and let the charcoal do its thing.

These hangers aren’t available commercially yet, and we’re not sure if they ever will be. And while they promise to get rid of the stench on your clothes, they won’t remove stains or bacteria, so you’ll eventually have to wash your clothes after a few wears. But that’s better than having to throw them in the wash after every use, right?

Lisa explains her motivation for coming up with the hangers:

There is a moment between clean and unclean clothes that has got very little attention. Sometimes we throw half-dirty clothes in the laundry basket too often because we don’t know where else to put them.

What do you think? Yay or nay?

Sustainable Hanger Bag

I love this simple and innovative solution to a sustainable carry bag. The H+Bag has a functional edge and combines a carry bag with a hanger. Most often stores give us beautiful, sustainable paper bags to carry our clothes back home. Now if we add a twist to the bag and fashion it as a hanger, wouldn’t that be a great eco-idea! Say, hello to the H+Bag!

Oh Snap!

I love a good hanger design, and here’s one that makes it possible to hang your clothes in a snap! The Snap Hanger consists of two units that fasten together at a single joint to function like scissors, making it possible to quickly and easily slip into narrow-necked shirts without stretching. Hangers can also be combined vertically to save space or taken apart and nested to take on the road.

Cubby: It’s a Coat Hook and a Storage Caddy

I have nothing against coat racks, but sometimes I find myself hating them as I’m hanging up my coat. I mean, why didn’t the people who came up with these racks think of the possibility that people might want a place to put their keys or glasses and other miscellaneous stuff when they step into the house?

Apparently, there are a lot of us, though, because Cubby was born.

Cubby1

Cubby was designed by Stephanie and Bruce Tharp of materious. It’s a coat hook slash cubby hole that gives you the best of both worlds: a huge hook with which to hang your coats and bags, and a tiny round shelf right smack in the middle to hold all of your other stuff. The idea is so ingenious, I wonder why someone else didn’t think of it sooner.

Cubby

Cubby is currently up for funding on Kickstarter. A minimum pledge of $19(USD) will get you your very own Cubby, while $47 buys a 3-pack, and $79 buys a 6-pack. And if you can only fork over $5 or $10, you’ll be treated to a thank-you note (and drawing) from the team’s adorable child named Isla Rey.
