Good stationery can really change my productivity quotient for the day and I am sure I am not alone. Writing with a new pen brings out the calligraphy artist inside me and looking at the concrete pen, I am so tempted to start journaling again! The studio that designed this beautiful pen, 22Studio, is proud of their contribution to keeping the tradition of writing on paper alive by sparking inspiration through their products.

The stationery created by 22Studio is no less than art, these are made to last lifelong and passed down as family collectibles through generations. Concrete is used to make this pen because it adds the rich look without making it a shiny or fancy – it is simple but makes a bold statement. The solid pen starts as a liquid mixture of different elements and then it allowed to set like stone. Batman’s entire utility belt… inside a ballpoint pen

Less of a pen and more of a toolkit with a ballpoint refill, Atech’s 9-in-1 Multifunction Tool Pen writes notes, opens bottles, measures items, files nails, fixes gadgets, and does much more. Designed to be an all-round utility tool that slides right into your pocket, this pen comes with a slick, hexagonal body that feels familiar (and doesn’t roll off surfaces) but is made from a hybrid alloy that’s both lightweight and strong, and is fitted with all kinds of surprises.

The 9-in-1 Multifunction Tool Pen comes based off of feedback from thousands of users, and Atech’s own lineup of multitool pens and keychains. It comes fitted with a 0.7mm black ballpoint refill for buttery-smooth writing, but if you’re not the traditional pen-on-paper kind of guy, the design even has its own 0.24in rubber-tipped stylus for drawing, erasing, and writing on your touchscreen devices. A Multifunction Tool Pen wouldn’t be complete without the tools either, would it? The pen even packs both Philips and flathead screwdrivers on the inside, while the pen’s body comes with a spirit level as well as a nail-file integrated into its body. Two scoops on the top and the midsection serve as a box-cutter and a bottle opener respectively… and if you’ve been counting so far, you’ll realize we’re still one tool short. That’s because I didn’t quite mention the fact that the pen’s linear body serves as both a metric and an imperial ruler, with measuring units etched onto two of the 6 hexagonal sizes.

Weighing in at a mere 1.7 ounces (that’s 45 grams for the metric folk), the pen’s equally light and robust. The pen uses a hybrid alloy made from steel, aluminum, copper, and iron to achieve its signature combination of strength and practical weightlessness, and comes with a matte black finish that seems to be a uniting factor in all of Atech’s products, lending it equal parts of classiness and stealthiness… Batman would surely approve.

The all-metal Wingback Mechanical Pen is a delight for the senses!

With details that would absolutely entice any mechanical-design/industrial-design enthusiast, the Wingback Mechanical Pen is a hat-tip to the reliability of products from half a century ago. Long before planned obsolescence was a thing, products were built to last a lifetime. People would own, use, and reuse products for years, passionately maintaining them for future use, and fixing them if something ever broke. It’s rare to see that sort of passion in today’s products, and the Wingback Mechanical Pen is a rare item that embraces that culture of design-for-perpetuity. Machined entirely from brass and stainless steel – and available with custom engraving for every owner – the Wingback presents a wonderful throwback to the days when products were reliable, and pens were designed to last not years, but generations.

With a classic form on the outside and a high-quality refill on the inside, the Wingback is a really reliable writing instrument. Its classic form sports a knurled grip for sheer tactile delight, and a knurled end-cap that you can screw off to access the pen’s refill on the inside. The Wingback comes with a Fisher PR4 pressurized cartridge; a refill that lasts on an average thrice as long as most refills, and comes with a tungsten-carbide tip that gives it incredible smoothness and strength. The Wingback’s outer body is calibrated for a great writing experience too, with a width of 10mm that feels comfortable to hold onto, along with the metallic construction’s weight that gives you confident, reliable strokes. The end-cap can be twisted to deploy and retract the nib, giving you a neat mechanism that your fingers will absolutely fall in love with.

The Wingback comes in two variants, a pristine stainless steel that promises to look exactly the same even as centuries pass, and a lustrous brass, that captures the old-world spirit, and will develop a beautiful patina over time, as unique as you and the thoughts you pen down.

Wingback – A Custom Mechanical Pen That Will Last a Lifetime

Wingback’s latest creation, the Wingback Mechanical Pen, epitomizes their “buy once” philosophy. Machine turned from brass or stainless steel, it has been designed to last for decades, not months and help its owner rediscover the joy of putting pen to paper.

With a wide 10mm (3/8 Inch) diameter and knurled grip, it sits comfortably in the hand to reduce writing fatigue while the satisfying weight of its materials encourages more time to be taken with every pen stroke.

The Details

– A large 10mm (3/8 Inch) diameter allows for a better grip around the pen barrel means you can write more comfortably for longer
– At a compact 117.5mm (4.63 Inch) length, the pen fits neatly in the crook of your hand when writing and is ideal to tuck in your pocket or bag
– Made in the UK and built to last a lifetime
– Personalization of 50 characters available, laser engraved onto the barrel
– A single handed twist allows you to lock the nib in place with our bespoke mechanism
– Precise manufacturing tolerances stop any unwanted nib wobble
– Includes Fisher PR4 pressurized refill – (Refills widely available from Amazon etc)
– Limited edition artist collaborations launching throughout the campaign

Personalization

Wingback team can laser engrave up to 50 characters on the barrel to your specification, enough space for your initials, name or a personal quote to make your pen a little bit extra special.

Design and Functionality

Over 25 iterations has honed in on this design. A larger diameter barrel means your hand won’t fatigue as quickly as gripping a narrower pen and the knurled barrel provides good purchase for your fingers. The satisfying weight of the pen also acts as a gentle reminder to take more time over your writing and drawing, achieving a neater result.

Materials

The heavier of the two, the brass pen (56g/1.98oz) will develop a unique patina as its surface oxidises and interacts with the natural oils in your hands. This pen will quickly look like a timeless tool, but can easily be polished up to its original lustre.

Slightly lighter than brass, stainless steel pen (50g/1.76 oz) has a harder surface and will not oxidize over time. This means it will maintain its crisp aesthetic indefinitely.

Cartridge

A pen is only as good as the cartridge that you use. That’s why they are working with Fisher Space Pens*. The PR4 refill is a pressurized cartridge with a tungsten carbide tip. It lasts three times longer than alternatives and provides an unparalleled smoothness with every pen stroke.

Engineering

The metal designs are custom made from start to finish and made in the UK using trusted local suppliers. A solid block of stainless steel or brass is CNC machined to produce incredibly precise parts. Each one is individually inspected and tested to ensure it will withstand the test of time. Their manufacturing partner make predominantly aerospace components and have BS EN AS 9100 accreditation.

Specification

The pen is designed to be as compact as possible to fit discreetly into a bag or pocket, but long enough to sit comfortably in the crook of your hand while writing.

– Diameter: Ø10mm / 3/8 Inch
– Height: 117.5mm / 4.63 Inch

Finish

Machined finish to a surface roughness of 0.4 Ra (μm) with a 0.5mm perpendicular diamond knurl around the circumference.

The Pikachu Pen Chooses You!

Poké-maniacs, here’s one more unnecessary item for your vast collection of Pokémon merch – an official Pikachu fountain pen. The limited-edition pen features the classic Pikachu yellow and red color scheme, and will look great as ink hits the paper.

The set is based on the easy-to-use Lamy Safari model fountain pen, and comes with two interchangeable Pikachu poses to snap onto its red clip. It also includes a handsome yellow carrying case, and a weighted Poké Ball stand to keep the pen in when not in use.

This unique pen set was first offered in China last year. It’s now available for the first time in the U.S. via crowdshopping site Drop, where it’s selling for $159. It’s only up for order through 8/24/19, so you’ll want to move fast before they’re gone.

Exam times needs this pen with timer!

Exams are tense and often stressful events; the silence of the hall paired with the frantic sound of scribbling pens on paper can all add up to becoming a fear-inducing experience. These time-sensitive tasks often require you to work right up until the very last second, so efficiency is key. So what you don’t want to be doing is checking your watch every five minutes and wasting valuable time. This is where Timer Cap comes in.

Timer Cap has been designed to come in two forms, a ballpoint pen and a retro-fit addition for pencils. It requires very little interaction with its user only having to set the timer at the start of the exam. Vibrant colors visually indicate the time remaining and once this time is up the user will be alerted with a little ‘clang’.

Designer: Jade Jinwon Heo

“You can manage the exam time and practice taking the exam thoroughly, since you can control time in the timer of Timer Cap, using the spring which is pushed into again, when you pull it upwards manually. Besides, the color of the timer changes every twenty minutes so you can check the time left, visually,” Heo explained.

“Timer Cap consists of two kinds: a cap type to put into a pencil, and a ball-point pen type, so you can use it appropriately, depending on writing supplies to use for the exam or exam practice,” Heo continued.

You Can’t Pay the Iron Price for These Incredible Game of Thrones Pens

If you’re a Game of Thrones fan who loves to write notes and send them by raven, then Italian writing instrument maker Montegrappa has just the perfect pen for you. It is called the Winter is Here edition.

The pen has an extremely intricate exterior that makes it a work of art, carved from pearlized great celluloid and “enveloped by a masterful study in the ancient art of lost wax casting.” It is a beauty that’s for sure.

The Night King and a White Walker are engraved on the pen’s barrel with ice-blue apatite crystals for eyes and on the pen’s cap, and the ice dragon Viserion is carved in precious metal, over a ring of blue-crystalline hand-glazed flames. The dragon wraps around the pen cap and the head with the tongue of ice is the pocket clip.

It is available in your choice of fountain or rollerball, and in sterling silver or solid 18K gold. The silver model is limited to 300 units, while the 18K gold has an ultra limited run of just 7 units.

These pens aren’t cheap, mind you. The sterling silver version is €4,500 (~$5,080 USD) a pop for the fountain and €4,050 (~$5,570 USD) for the rollerball. The gold one will cost you €48,000 (~$54,270 USD) for the fountain, or €51,000 (~$57,680 USD) for the rollerball.
