This Ford F-150 fan-made concept looks arguably better than the original
Anyone else felt like Ford’s response to the Cybertruck fell a little flat? No? Just me? Well, after Ford was absolutely showed up by the guys at Tesla, who dragged the company’s F-150 truck uphill to prove how much sheer power the Cybertruck had, it seemed like Ford was due for a major rebuttal, but here’s what happened. The company unveiled its latest offering, and while on paper, the 2020 F-150 looks like an absolutely capable contender, it still falls into the aesthetic trap of being yet another pickup truck. Now mind you, I believe the Cybertruck’s design is a bit too radical, and there’s definitely a sweet-spot somewhere in between, which trucks like the Nikola Badger fall very close to… but the 2020 Ford F-150 feels like they simply taught an old dog new tricks.
Mo Aoun’s rendition of the 2020 Ford F-150 (which made its way to Behance months before Ford’s official unveil) arguably presents a better visual direction for the pickup. Aoun’s conceptual F-150 embraces the use of blockish forms and straight lines. Curves are judiciously used in the F-150 concept’s design, and when they are, they’re incredibly tight or limited to being radii between two straight lines. Aoun’s concept even embraces the splitting of the car’s blocks by using molded plastic inserts that cover the gap between the truck and the bed, allowing the car to have a two-tone paint-job in the process (in this case, blue and black). Another interesting deviation in Aoun’s design is the flipping of Ford’s box-bracket-shaped headlights to create winged headlights that definitely give the car a different appeal without taking away from its rugged, steadfast character. Overall, Aoun’s F-150 concept does one thing that Ford’s production model doesn’t. It possesses the ability to linger on in the mind.

This armored vehicle is for people who think the Tesla Cybertruck isn’t intense enough
It’s really difficult to imagine what definite post-apocalyptic scenario the ARMORTRUCK concept was designed for because truth be told, it looks like the kind of vehicle that could survive any sort of problem you throw at it. Designed by concept artist Milen Ivanov, who’s body of work involves clients like Rimac, Vilner, Dreamworks, and even the Fast and Furious franchise, the Armortruck looks like the lovechild of a Cybertruck and the Batmobile from Nolan’s Batman, on steroids.
Designed really as more of a conceptual car rather than something that even dreams to be street-legal, the ARMORTRUCK is a hulking 2000 horsepower beast that comes with an aggressive outer design featuring low-poly paneling that’s designed to make you shudder first and admire later. Given how incredibly broad the car is, gullwing doors open vertically allow you to enter and exit the vehicle, primarily because you’d possibly struggle for door-opening space in a parking lot. The car comes equipped with insane off-road tires and fog-lights, and sort of does a hat-tip to the Cybertruck with its linear tail-light. On the inside, the ARMORTRUCK paints a different picture, with luxurious leather and Alcantara seats as well as a touchscreen dashboard. Designed to provide you with comfortable conditions on the inside, regardless of how harsh and brutal the world outside is, the car even has HVAC exhaust fans on the top to keep the car’s interiors cool and comfy at all times, while passersby cower with fear and unquestioningly get out of your way.

This modular Polestar concept opposes every traditional automotive form
We see a lot of concept models of cars and bikes, but very few designers go beyond that in a bid to improve the rest of the automotive sector. Polestar OnTour is a concept trailer that is straight out of the future! It was born out of the need to make loading and unloading a more convenient process in larger trailers or trucks. And trailers, in general, also needed an aesthetic makeover so while the team was onto making the functionality better, they also made the form 10x cooler than the usual trailer that we see on the roads….and it looks nothing like any automotive shape we’ve seen!
This conceptual Polestar is a 10-wheeler modular trailer that can fit the different needs of different industries. It comes with a small-tall container, medium container, and a construction set-up too. The flexible trailer ring makes it easy to load or unload cargo and also change out containers without the effort it would take had it been a traditional trailer. The sloping windshield is something that really stands apart from the stereotypical trailers we see. It looks like it glides on the highway despite the fact that its rectangular, forward-leaning shape can slow down the speed. Because of its versatile containers, it can be used to transport mass shipments in crisis or even serve as an everyday warehouse truck.
The design of the Polestar is sleek and angular but the edges are rounded off – makes it look less like a sharp, evil container on wheels and more like a futuristic tour bus! While Polestar is still a conceptual trailer, it resembles many modern electric automotive vehicles and it would be brilliant to have a large electric trailer so we can reduce the environmental impact of the product transportation and shipping. We all know the amount of Amazon packages we order and it would be cool to see a Polestar trailer pull up at the warehouse instead of the fuel-burning old truck. Volvo, are you listening?
