Apple's 2013 edition of its notorious Worldwide Developers Conference is soon to be underway. But, while we wait for Tim Cook & Co. to hit the stage, who better than our own Tim Stevens and Darren Murph to strike up a conversation about what the Cupertino-based company may have in store for us. All signs point to a seventh major revision of iOS, but will we also see the fabled iWatch? How about the long-rumored iRadio music service? The clock's ticking, so join us after the break as we'll be broadcasting live from outside Moscone West, in beautiful San Francisco.

Apple's WWDC 2013 keynote livestream makes appearance on Apple TV

A new channel has just popped up on Apple TV for its WWDC 2013 Keynote, meaning that a livestream of the big event will be available for viewing there -- just like last time. The HD stream will kick off at 10AM Pacific time, and there's a chance you'll see it on Apple's Events page as well, if history repeats itself. You can also catch past extravaganzas at either spot (see the More Coverage link), and naturally, we'll have a full liveblog of our own -- so there's no chance you'll miss any of the fun.

Update: The WWDC 2013 Keynote livestream link has now arrived to Apple's Events page as well (at the source, below), though you'll need to be on Safari 4 with OS X 10.6 or Safari on iOS 4.2 at a minimum to watch it.

It's sure looking like we'll be getting ourselves a seventh version of iOS come Monday morning, but we'd guess Apple has some other surprises in store for the keynote that will kick off WWDC 2013. New laptops? Probably. An updated desktop operating system? Possibly. A television? Unlikely, but hey, anything can happen. We'll be there to help you find out, liveblogging the keynote from start to finish and bringing you all the news as it happens. We'll also be doing a live, streaming broadcast before the keynote to whet your appetite and get you up to speed on what to expect from the day's Apple news. After the event we'll be streaming live again, to give you a video rundown of all the news -- and maybe an early look at the day's new products. Apple puts up '7' banner in advance of WWDC, likely confirms new version of iOS

Well, we were pretty sure that Apple was going to out a new version of iOS next week, and a banner just went up at the Moscone Center in San Francisco (the venue for WWDC) seems to confirm the rumors. As you can see, it shows only the number '7', which all but confirms that we'll be seeing Jony Ive's first iteration of Apple's mobile OS in just a few days. Tune in to our coverage next week to check the accuracy of our deductive powers and find out what other goodies Apple has in store.

Update: Our friends at 9 to 5 Mac have more pics, including photos of an ad with a big 'X' in front of a wave. That should put to rest any hopes for this being the launch of OS XI.

Apple reportedly lands radio service deal with Sony ahead of WWDC

Apple was supposedly waiting for a deal with Sony before it could launch its rumored internet radio service. That roadblock may have just been cleared: AllThingsD claims that Apple has reached an agreement at the last minute, which gives it the all clear to announce the streaming feature at WWDC. Other details aren't immediately available, but previous rumors have suggested that Apple won't deploy the ad-backed service right away; we may end up waiting a few months before we can tune in. If the rumors are true, though, Monday's keynote will be more interesting than we first thought.

It's that special time for Apple devotees: WWDC 2013 is next week, and that means a customary glimpse of where iOS and the Mac are going next. However, we're getting everything but business as usual this year. The crew at 1 Infinite Loop has shaken up its software strategy, putting much of its emphasis on Jony Ive's design chops and tighter collaboration between teams. Is Apple about to deliver major OS refreshes that some say are long overdue? And what about hints of new hardware introductions at the same time? Bloomberg details Apple's rumored radio service, simultaneous iAd revamp

If you believe the rumor mill, Apple is planning to announce ts long-rumored streaming music service as a feature alongside the iOS 7 update during WWDC next week, and now Bloomberg has more details on how it might work. According to the report, the entire thing will be free and ad-supported, Pandora-style. It's expected to include similar features for tracking user's tastes and serving up similar songs, with tight integration to iTunes so they can buy a track if they'd like to keep it. Where a bigger change may be however is on the backend, in how Apple deals with its advertising business. A shift in iAd directed by Eddy Cue and recent hire Todd Teresi is cutting some fees out, giving advertises more flexibility in how they buy placements, and will share radio ad revenue with music labels.

Apple releases WWDC companion app ahead of next week's event

In advance of its rapidly approaching World Wide Developers Conference, Apple's just released a companion iOS app to keep attendees on the up and up. All the usual pertinent bits are included, from handy floor plans for dizzy devs navigating the crush of Moscone West to a sessions calendar that not only allows users to favorite specific events, but also provide feedback. What's more, devs won't have to worry about missing out on a particular session as Apple intends to make those available for viewing through the app. Which means you, too, can take a virtual front row seat to the reportedly "flatter" future Cook and co. have been (wait for it...) cooking up.

Apple reportedly has two labels onboard for radio service, may launch June 10th

Apple's long-rumored internet radio service didn't materialize as quickly as some thought, but we're getting a sudden rush of hints that it may be close at hand. The New York Times and Wall Street Journal both claim that Apple has just signed a music licensing deal with Warner, giving it two out of the big three labels it needs to start streaming -- Universal being the first, Sony being the holdout. Despite lacking one of the necessary deals, Apple is reportedly optimistic that it could unveil the radio feature as soon as WWDC. We're not counting on any music news from Apple execs when they take the stage next week, but it's good to be prepared... you know, just in case.
