Legend of Zelda Lon Lon Milk Candles Restore Light, Not Health

Etsy store Blankoo fermented some milk from the Lon Lon Ranch and ended up with… candles. Nah, these cute scented canldes are made from beeswax and come in two sizes – 3.5″ and 6.5″ – and three labels: violet, blue and yellow.

The big candles come in fresh linen, French macaroon and gardenia scents, while the smaller ones have fresh linen, vanilla or holiday spice scents.

Grab some empty bottles and head to Blankoo’s Etsy store to order the candles. The small ones sell for $15 (USD) while the big ones go for $24.

The Melting Toht candle looks like your regular old candle-in-the-shape-of-a-man-with-his-mouth-open candle at first glance. But light it up and you’ll see that it will slowly transform into Gestapo agent Toht from Raiders of the Lost Arc from that unforgettable scene towards the end of the movie.

Gummi Bear Candle Melts to Reveal Its Skeletal Insides

First, it was a cat. Now it’s gummi bears. But these huge 3-pound gummi bear candles are not what they seem. They’re undeniably cute, cuddly even if they weren’t made from wax.

But the horror sets in once it starts burning…

Aside from the usual puddle of wax that you expect, the candle burns to reveal the gummi bear’s skeletal innards, with ghastly sharp teeth and outstretched claws.

All the better to scratch you with, perhaps.

It’ll take a while before the true nature of these giant gummi bears are revealed though, as each one burns up to a hundred hours. The Gummi Bear Skeleton candles are currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where a minimum pledge of $50(USD) will get you one of your very own.

With these ghastly candles, you’ll be able to hit two birds with one stone. First of all, they’re candles, so when the power’s out, just light ‘em up for some much-needed illumination. Second of all, the design is just perfect for Halloween: bloody zombies with bulging eyes and disfigured faces that ups the creepy factor at your place.

And as they melt–boy, oh boy, they’ll look even creepier than they already are. The candles are handmade and you can get them from Stexe’s Etsy shop for $15 each. Creepy doesn’t come cheap.

Gummi Bear Skeleton Candle Reveals the Horror Within After You Light it Up

When they’re unlit, these gummi bear candles look adorable, but we wouldn’t recommend giving them to a child unless you want to give them nightmares. When the flame’s a-burning, the colorful wax melts to reveal the bear’s ghastly skeleton. It’ll take some time before the entire skeleton is revealed though, as the 3-pound candle can burn for approximately a hundred hours.

The Gummi Bear Skeleton candle will be available in a variety of colors once its Kickstarter campaign draws to an end. Want one of your very own? Pledge at least $40 and you’ll have it shipped sometime this November.

Scented Sculptures

There’s little to not like about a candle, especially if it smells good… but, if there is one gripe, it’s that most are limited (aesthetically) to the following: country, hippy, tribal, or just plain cheesy! For the design-minded, the NAO series of scented candles look as good as they smell. Each unique transparent glass vase is hand blown by expert craftsmen before wax & fragrance by a renowned perfumer in Grasse, France are added. Some simple, others futuristic… they’re meant to last as a sculptural object well beyond the lifespan of the candle itself.

Batman Candle Shadowcaster Lets you Call the Caped Crusader

Sometimes I think too much when I am watching a movie. All I could think when the Bat Signal is glowing on the roof of the police department is what would happen if the crooks took out the power. Batman would be sitting at home watching TV with no idea the city needed him.

I think I have found the backup plan with these 3D printed candle attachments. All you need for this to work is a wax candle to stick the little pegs into. Once you light the candle, the bat symbol shadow will appear on the wall.

This would be the perfect way to call Batman to help you in a power outage. There are different shaped signals available and a company called GeekHex makes them. At $35 each, they’re pretty pricey though. You could probably make your own with duct tape, a toothpick, and a sharp knife.
