ZØRE X Gun Lock Aims to Secure Guns Better, Unlock Faster

If you own a gun, safety should be a priority. One of the latest efforts to improve gun safety comes from Israeli startup ZØRE. The ZØRE X gun lock provides access to a firearm using a personalized pin code.

The company claims it will give you fast access to the weapon in any circumstance, even in the dark. It’s like a regular single-dial combination lock, but it can be fixed to a semi-automatic gun. Users can lock the weapon simply by pressing a button on top, which places a custom-made cartridge into the chamber to prevent it being loaded up.

To unlock the gun, users enter a pin code by turning a dial on the side of the attachment. This user-defined pin code can be as short as two numbers, or something a little longer and more complex. It can be unlocked regardless of the dial’s starting point or which direction it is turned, making for the “fastest way” to go from a locked gun to a ready-to-fire weapon. This will keep everyone safe, while still giving you fast access to your weapon. The best of both worlds.

The lock also comes with a Bluetooth LE module to communicate with a companion smartphone app via a Wi-Fi bridge module. This combines with a built-in motion sensor for push notifications, if your gun should be tampered with when it is out of sight. ZØRE is running an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for commercial production of this gun lock, with prices starting at as little as $95 for the ZØRE X gun lock itself.

Giant NERF Gun Will Knock Out Your Soul

I’ve been involved in enough NERF wars to know you want to protect two specific parts of your body… or technically four. You protect your eyes and your balls. Everything else can take a hit with no ill effects. That’s not the case with the world’s largest NERF gun.

worlds_largest_nerf_gun_1zoom in

These giant suction cup darts will knock your soul straight out of your anus. Created by Mark Rober and the guys from Eclectical Engineering, this giant NERF pistol is powered by a paint ball canister designed to handle up to 3000 psi and hurls massive darts out the muzzle using 80 psi bursts.

It can launch pool noodles with plunger tops (these are the darts) at speeds up to 40 mph. I can only imagine the destruction that would happen if you shot your terrified foes with this thing in a neighborhood NERF war. I hope he doesn’t aim for the nads with that thing… or do I?

Playstation VR Aim Controller: Why Couldn’t It Look Like an NES Zapper?

I’m gonna say right off the bat here, that yes, this Playstation VR aim controller is the ugliest peripheral you have ever seen. However, in VR you won’t even have to look at it, since you will be busy with the virtual world you’re playing in. This is Sony’s version of a light gun for their upcoming VR headgear, and will be the peripheral of choice for all of those VR FPS games you will want to play.

aim_controller_1zoom in

This controller offers direct 1 to 1 tracking, so that your virtual weapon is always aimed at the exact same place as your fugly plastic rifle. Sony claims that it will give you the most realistic and precise way to control a rifle in their VR platform. Still, I think Sony could have come up with a better design than a something that looks like PVC pipe bent into a gun shape, with Rudolph’s red nose on the end. At least it is cutting edge technology. The upcoming game Farpoint is one of the first to take advantage of the new controller:

Developer Impulse Gear, says that the rifle controller “allows you to do things in Farpoint that just are not possible in a standard FPS game.” We have no idea what they mean. Perhaps guiding Santa’s sleigh?

DIY Cheese Ball Machine Gun: I’ll Give You a Snack You Won’t Believe

One of YouTube’s star makers NightHawkInLight made a gun that fires cheese balls using an electric leaf blower, several PVC pipes and a large cheese ball container.

diy_cheese_ball_machine_gun_by_nighthawkinlight_1zoom in

It’s a fairly simple toy, but building it isn’t as straightforward as you might think. You have to insert a small wedge or ramp inside the pipe, right after the leaf blower’s mouth and just before the T-section that connects the cheese ball container to the rest of the pipe. The ramp will prevent the powerful blast of air from going up to the container and make it easier to suck the cheese balls out.

I love how YouTuber Christopher Perry dropped by the video’s comments to say they’ve been searching for years for a guide on making this exact same toy. Some people just have their goals sorted out.

Rocket Fishing Rod: The Gun That Catches Fish

Kids often have trouble casting their line into the water when fishing. The Rocket Fishing Rod is designed to make it easy. All they have to do is point where you want your lure and line to go, and fire. See, this is basically a gun that catches fish.

It shoots the lure/bait compartment up to 30 feet, which then deploys when it hits the water. It’s a pretty awesome idea. It makes it easy for kids for cast their line and get fishing quickly.

Of course, you could actually teach your kid how to cast their line too. This does look like a lot of fun though. It combines two cool outdoor sports, shooting things and fishing.

LEGO Black Ops 3 KRM-262 Shotgun: Pumped Up Bricks

LEGO weaponsmith MyDifferentUserName made a life-size replica of the KRM-262, the powerful futuristic shotgun from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. It’s moving parts will one-hit kill you with their awesomeness.

The replica has a folding stock, a pumpable hand grip and plates that move outward to make way for the barrel, which has room for a (LEGO) shell. Fellow LEGO weapon maker Nick Brick designed the model’s complicated reload mechanism.

Belated happy birthday dude!

Double Barrel Paintball Gun Brings 2x the Pain

When playing paintball it’s always good to have a backup pistol for when your primary gun runs out of ammo. I recommend a double-barreled pistol like the Goblin Deuce.

goblin_deuce_1zoom in

It basically doubles your paintball firepower and increases your chances of survival, while increasing the pain that others will suffer. It is also very intimidating to your opponents.

goblin_deuce_2zoom in

The Goblin Deuce Paintball Pistol is actually a redesigned version of their regular pistol called the Solo. It just has twice the barrels. If you have the Solo, Goblin offers a conversion kit that lets you turn it into a double-barrel shooter.

I would not want to face this thing in the paintball arena. That’s gotta hurt.

Working Glock NES Zapper Should Fire Bullet Bills

The original NES Zapper is one of the most iconic video game controllers of all time. At best, it was great fun, and at worst it was a source of frustration. The most damage you could do with one was maybe throw it across the room at your kid brother – until now.

nes_gun_pistol_glock_1zoom in

The guys at Precision Syndicate took a functional Glock pistol, and refinished it to look exactly like the same weapon you used to pick off birds in Duck Hunt.

The weapon looks really cool, though I don’t recommend playing Wild Gunman with it, unless you want a pile of shattered glass in place of your 70″ Samsung.

One of the replica’s best features is its worn out and rusted finish, which Show and Tell Props achieved with the help of Sculpt Noveau coating and patina.

These Chairs Are Made from Real AK-47’s

Are you a crime lord looking for an awesome throne to run your empire from? Of course you are. So many crimes, so few good crime lord thrones. Well, this is a chair fit for Tony Montana or any other modern gangster; a chair made from real AK-47s. I call shotgun. Oh wait, that doesn’t work here. Sorry.

ak_47_chair_1zoom in

These chairs were built by Austrian designer Rainer Weber. The rifles were made non-operational first, then welded together to form the chairs. That’s really disappointing, because imagine a chair that fires in all directions while you sit on it, bouncing around and going deaf. I think they really missed an opportunity here. Oh well.

If you are interested, you will have to contact Rainer for the price. They cost that much. Just figure out the cost of 6 AK-47’s and some animal print, then multiply that by “you can’t afford it” and you will get the figure.
