Wall Saver

A floating bookshelf can be a great storage solution and minimal accent to any wall, but not every wall is prepared to hold the supports that the shelf rests on. This design, called OPEN, is a shelving system that achieves the same floating aesthetic without the need for wall mounts. The shelving boards dangle on super-thin but strong fishing line that mounts to the ceiling. Better yet, the shelves can be adjusted without having to remove and replace hardware.

Love this bookshelf. It’s a wall mounted gutted piano! Sick. It would not be an exaggeration to say that I just spent about 15 minutes on Craigslist seeing how much an old baby grand piano would cost and trying to figure out how I could move one. It’s genius, gut an old piano leaving just the keys and frame, then mount it on your wall to get that distinctive piano shape as a bookshelf. (via pianissimo)

The Pixel Cat Shelf is the purrrfect place to display all of your cat memorabilia. This handmade feline shelf measures about 2 feet tall and it loves cookies (cats like cookies?) While I personally am not sure I’d want a cat shelf, I do like the pixel style which allows for a lot of nooks and crannies to put things on. And by the way, poor “crannies”, this word never gets used solo like “nooks” does, what’s up with that? At $235 each, you’d better really really like cats (or crannies!) to buy this shelf.
