Microsoft Reported To be Paying Developers $100,000 To Write Windows Phone Apps

Microsoft is currently offering developers $100 for any application that they publish in the Windows Phone Store by the end of this month, there is a cap of $2,000 on this offer for developers.

It would appear that Microsoft may be paying some developers much more than this to get the developers to create applications for the Windows Phone Store, with rumored payment of $100,000 to entice developers to build apps for the platform.

Quad Core Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 Handset Appears In Benchmarks

A new quad core Nokia Lumia Windows Phone smartphone has turned up in the GFXBench, and it reveals some details about Nokia’s first quad core Windows Phone smartphone.

As yet we do not have a name for the new quad core Nokia Lumia Windows Phone smartphone, there are no details on the exact processor the handset will use, although the benchmarks revealed that the GPU will be an Adreno 305.

Microsofts Andy Lees exits corporate development role, will announce a new job after his holiday

Seven months after Andy Lees became Microsoft's vice president of corporate development, the executive has decided that it's time for a rest. AllThingsD is reporting that the deposed former Windows Phone chief is taking a sabbatical to spend some time with his family in England, but will return to a new, currently undefined, role at Redmond later in the summer. Given that the country is currently suffering through one of its traditional summers, we suggest Mr. Lees packs an umbrella.

Update: Microsoft has contacted us to clarify that Lees is permanently relocating to the UK, but will remain with the company -- at a position that'll be announced once his sabbatical has ended.

Nokia Eos To Be Announced At July 11th Press Event

It looks like we have a date for when Nokia will announce their new camera focused smartphone, the Nokia EOS that we recently saw in some leaked photos as Nokia has sent out press invites for an event in New York on the 11th of July.

The Nokia EOS is a Windows Phone 8 smartphone that will apparently feature the Nokia PureView camera technology that was announced with the Nokia 808 PureView, it could possibly feature the same 41 megapixel camera that was announced in the original Symbian device.

We have been hearing more about the Huawei Ascend W2 over the last few weeks, and have seen a number of leaked photos of the device, and now Huawei has teased a new waterproof Windows Phone 8 smartphone on Facebook.

It looks like this new waterproof Huawei Windows handset will be the new Huawei Ascend W2, which is rumored to come with a 4.3 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Nokia Lumia 925 Launched In The UK

Nokia has announced that their new Nokia Lumia 925 Windows Phone 8 smartphone is now available in the UK, and they also revealed some details on what the various mobile carriers are offering on the device.

Vodafone has an exclusive of a 32GB black Nokia Lumia 925 smartphone, whilst mobile carrier O2 is offering the 16GB white version of the device, it is also available from Three, EE, Phones4U and the Carphone Warehouse.

We just got an email from the guys over at Clove to let us know that they now have the unlocked Nokia Lumia 925 in stock, the handset is available for £480 including taxes and this is for the white version of the device.

The Nokia Lumia 925 comes with Windows Phone 8 and has 4.5 inch WXGA AMOLED display with a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution, the handset comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage, there is also a dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.
