No Cold Coffee, Only HOT!

Regular YD-ers know about my coffee addiction and how I love my cuppa joe by my side. According to my survey there are two kinda tea/coffee drinkers, ones who love their brew piping hot (or a particular temperature) and ones who prefer tepid. The Nano Heated Mug caters to the former faction; those who love hot beverages at the ideal drinkable temperature.

Insulated mugs and those with wired warmers are quite cumbersome to be honest. They never manage to keep the drink at one consistent temperature for a long duration. This is where the Nano Heated Mug scores big time; it is a mug designed to work wirelessly and holds a beverage to the ideal drinkable temperature for 45 minutes. For example, if I pour in my piping hot coffee, the mug will bring the coffee to the ideal temp (145-155 degrees Fahrenheit) hold it at that steady temperature for 45 minutes at one go! I can take the mug to meetings, on the go … no worries at all!

Of course its not a one time wonder, otherwise that’s a lot of money to spend on a single hot drink! The one-time full charge lasts you for 7 to 8 refills. What this means is that if you drink two cups of coffee / tea a day, then the cup on a full charge will last you for about four days.

The big question is how does this work and what’s in it for you.

  • The Wireless Heated Mug uses the Patented Nano Heat green technology. In 2012 it won the top green Innovations award in Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence.
  • Nano heat technology means no more wires tying you to a heating source. You simply charge your nano mug with the included USB cord in your house, your car or even at your computer.
  • Once charged, disconnect and off you go with a perfectly heated beverage for up to 45 minutes. In a meeting, on a phone call, taking care of the kids, or running errands – your drink will remain at the perfect drinkable temperature throughout.

Details for the mug can be found here. My verdict – get yours NOW!

Superhero Mom Mug is Here to Save the Day

Mother’s Day will be here before you know it and you need something cool to give your mom. Let’s face it, being a parent can be a thankless job, especially when kids hit those teen years.

This painted ceramic mug will tell your mom that you think she is a super hero. It has Superman colors and a ceramic cape on the back. Two bent arms on hips might remind you of that time you got in trouble, and act as the handles for the mug.

The mug holds 15 ounces of drink. The best news is that the mug is dishwasher safe and microwave safe. That means no handwashing and you can nuke your not-so-hot hot chocolate if needed. You can get your mom one for just $12.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.

Attack on Titan Stein Breaches Wall Maria, Won’t Spill your Beer

Fans of Attack on Titan can appreciate this big ceramic beer stein. It shows the moment when the Colossal Titan breaks through Wall Maria and changes history. The titan has his gross, muscular body on the front of your stein as you drink your beer.

I think this is the perfect way to subtly hint you will go Colossal Titan on anyone who spills your beer. The ceramic stein is 4.25-inches in diameter and 8-inches tall and holds about 28 ounces of beer or other drink. The only downside to this thing is that you have to hand wash it.

In my house, hand wash means you swish some water in it after you are done and figure it’s good to go back in the cabinet. If you’re good with that, you can pick one up at ThinkGeek for $24.99(USD).

Star Trek Coffee Mug Reveals the Enterprise when Hot Liquid is Added

I know a bunch of people who can’t function in the morning without a few cups of coffee in their system. If you are one of these folks that needs your hot caffeine, and you happen to love Star Trek, I found your coffee cup. It’s called the Star Trek 20oz Ceramic Heat Change Travel mug and its fit for Captain Kirk himself.

I’m a bit leery of the ceramic bit, that means one drop and you will be buying a new one. I would prefer aluminum, but hey, it has a drawing of the Enterprise that you can only see when hot liquids are inside. Actually, you can see the Enterprise when it’s cold inside too, only it’s a dark blue outline not white. It’s also got a spill-proof lid on the top, just in case the bridge on your starship comes under fire, you wouldn’t want your precious coffee to spill.

You can tell at a glance if your drink is hot or cold depending on what color Enterprise is. You can get your own Enterprise travel mug for $16.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.

Thanos Infinity Gauntlet Mug: Wield All the Power in the Coffeeverse

It’s two cool collectibles in one, a mug and a prop replica. This mug is made from ceramic and is available for pre-order at just $16 from Entertainment Earth. You can pre-order it now and it will ship in May.

This is the best mug ever for Marvel fans. It doesn’t get better than the infinity gauntlet. Now you can feel like the Eternal of Titan himself with every sip of your drink.

8-bit Rise & Shine Mug is only Happy When Hot

Growing up, my uncle had these drinking glasses that had women on them and when you put something cold in them, their bikini tops disappeared. I thought they were the most awesome thing in history in my youth because BEWBS. This coffee cup is sort of like those, only in reverse and without showing any nakey bits.

It’s called the 8-Bit Rise & Shine Heat Mug. When the mug has nothing in it or something cold it has a bleak, black sleepy face. When you put a nice hot liquid in it, the cup turns blue and has a smiley face.

It’s pretty awesome and would be a great way to tell at a glance if your coffee or hot chocolate is cold before taking a test sip. Few things are worse than a mouthful of cold hot chocolate. You can pick one up for $11.99(USD) from ThinkGeek.

3D Arcade Mug Achieves a High Caffeine Score

As a child of the ’80s, I can remember spending a plethora of quarters in the arcade every chance I got. The one thing most of the games seemed to have in common was that joystick with the big red ball on the end. About the worst thing that could happen to an arcade gamer back in the day, other than the machine eating your quarter and not playing, was having a broken joystick.

If you too are a child of the ’80s, or just like arcade games, this is the coffee mug for you. It has the Space Invaders on the outside and the handle is a joystick with a big red ball on the end. Ironically, the original Space Invaders machine didn’t have a joystick at all – it had buttons to move left and right:

The mug has 16-ounce capacity and is made from ceramic. It measures 4.5″ tall and 6″ wide at the handle. Sadly, you can’t microwave it or put it in the dishwasher. The mug will set you back $12.99(USD) at ThinkGeek, or about the same amount you’d pump into an arcade machine in an afternoon.

GameBoy Pokemon Mug: Cup of Charmander

This ceramic mug combines video game nostalgia with your morning coffee. It looks a Game Boy playing Pokémon. Sorry, not a Game Boy – it’s a Nintendo Café Boy, since it delivers caffeine.

Now you can relive your favorite memories of playing Pokémon as a kid, while you drink up and wake yourself for a job that does not involve catching fictional vermin and making them fight.

The screen shows Charmander using a scratch attack against Squirtle. It only plays one scene from one game, but this mug will serve you endless cups of coffee. Some of the other versions are shown above. The mug is only about $12(USD) from Etsy seller SandstormForever. That’s not bad for both a video game and caffeine delivery system.
