Nokia has released a new software update for a number of its Windows Phone smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 620, Lumia 820 and the Lumia 920, and the update brings a number of new features to the three devices.

Huawei Ascend W2 Windows Phone Handset Leaked

It looks like Huawei has a new Windows Phone 8 smartphone in the works, the Huawei Ascend W2, which you can see in the photo below, and it rumored to come with a 4.3 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

The Huawei Ascend W2 is rumored to be powered by a dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and will also feature 1GB of RAM, and a 2,000 mAh battery.

New Nokia Lumia With HD Display Headed To AT&T (Rumor)

Yesterday we heard that Microsoft would be adding support for full high definition displays to its Windows Phone 8 OS in the future, and now it would appear that we have some details on a new Nokia Lumia device that is headed to AT&T.

According to a recent report by Pocket Now, the Nokia Lumia RM-877, which we presume is the devices codename will come with a HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, I guess we may have to wait a little longer to see a full HD Lumia device from Nokia.

T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 Gets Official, Again

T-Mobile officially announced the new Nokia Lumia 521 back in February, the device has yet to go on sale on the network, and now T-Mobile has announced the handset again, although this time we get to find out when the device will be available.

The T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 will go on sale with the network in May, it will also be available through Microsoft retail stores and from Walmart, as well as T-Mobile retail stores.

Windows Phone 8 To Get 1080p Display Support

Microsoft will apparently be releasing an update for their Windows Phone 8 OS that will add in support for higher resolution displays, Windows Phone 8 currently offers support for WVGA and WXGA resolutions of 720 pixels.

The update will add in support for full high definition displays with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the update will apparently add in support for the latest quad core Qualcomm processors.

White Nokia Lumia 928 Leaked

Yesterday we saw some photos of the new Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon wireless, today we have another photo of the device, this is of the white Nokia Lumia 928 which will also be available with the black version at launch on Verizon.

The Nokia Lumia 928 on Verizon will share similar specifications to the Nokia Lumia 920, which include a 4.5 inch WXGA LCD display that features a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, it is powered by a dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.

SIM Free Nokia Lumia 520 Now Available In The UK

The SIM free version of the Nokia Lumia 520 is now available in the UK, the handset retails for £159.98 including taxes and it comes with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 OS.

The Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4 inch IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and it features a dual core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 Leaked

We have been hearing rumors that the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 would be launching with the carrier this month, and now it looks like we have an actual photo of the handset which you can see below.

The Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 is Verizon’s version of the Nokia Lumia 920, and whilst the specifications for the Nokia Lumia 928 are yet to be confirmed they are expected to be the same as the Lumia 920.

Microsoft showcases Windows Phone middleware partnerships at GDC, we go hands-on (video)

Building on yesterday's announcement that Temple Run and several other games are coming to Windows Phone, Microsoft's been actively courting developers at GDC 2013. To that end, the company's booth showcases several games that highlight cross-platform development and middleware. Now that WP8 and Windows 8 share the same NT kernel, DirectX APIs and tools, it's easier than ever to write games that use the same code base for both platforms. Microsoft is sweetening the deal with a few significant middleware partnerships -- Unity, Marmalade and Havok, to be specific. We talked with Larry Lieberman, Senior Product Manager for Windows Phone development, who was kind enough to explain what these partnerships mean for developers and to give us a tour of the games.
