Despite ‘spring cleaning,’ Google CalDAV support still coming to Windows Phone

Still hurting from Google's "spring cleaning" announcement yesterday? Google Reader fans may be out of luck, but Windows Phone users can take heart in knowing that Microsoft made the whitelist for the CalDAV sync interface, which is now shelved to all but developers who get Mountain View's green light.

Early this year, Google announced it would extend support for Exchange ActiveSync on Windows Phone through July 31st, with the implication being that Redmond would build support for CalDAV in the meantime. Luckily Microsoft's work was not for nothing, though -- and this is a big though -- the Windows team won't be adding CalDAV or CarDAV support for users trying to connect a Google account via Mail, Calendar or People apps after January 30th, 2013.

Nokia Lumia 928 Headed To Verizon Next Month

We recently heard about a new Nokia Lumia Windows phone device for Verizon, the Nokia Lumia 928 which showed up in Verizon’s inventory system, and now it looks like the Nokia Lumia 928 will launch on Verizon in April.

The Nokia Lumia 928 will be the Verizon version of the Nokia Lumia 920, although the device will come with an aluminum body and will also feature a xenon and LED flash on the 8 megapixel camera on the handset.

The Nokia Lumia 720 will be available for £294.98 and the Nokia Lumia 520 will be available for £159.98 from UK mobile retailer unlocked mobiles, both devices are now available to pre-order.

Nokia Lumia 520 Turns Up At The FCC

Nokia recently announced its new Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 520 was one of those handsets and it looks like it is getting closer to release in the US as the Nokia Lumia 520 has turned up at the FCC.

The Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4 inch IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and it features a dual core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Nokia Has Sold 2 Million Lumia Devices In China

It looks like Nokia is having some success with its Lumia Windows Phone devices in China, as the company has apparently sold over 2 million Lumia handsets in China, the news has yet to be confirmed by Nokia.

Nokia will also be launching their latest Windows Phone Lumia devices in China shortly which will include the new Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 620, these devices are expected to boost sales of Lumia smartphones in China.

Nokia recently announced a new range of Windows Phone 8 handsets, one of those was the Nokia Lumia 720, which is scheduled to go on sale in the UK next month, and now it would appear that the device is also headed to the US as the device has appeared at the FCC.

The Nokia Lumia 720 features a 4.3 inch CleakBlack display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and processing is in the form of a dual core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

BBC iPlayer For Windows Phone 7.5 And 8 Arriving Soon

The BBC has today announced that they have now signed a deal with Microsoft that will allow them to create a BBC iPlayer for Windows Phone application shortcut for the Windows Phone platform.

The BBC hopes to release its new BBC iPlayer for Windows Phone shortcut application on to the Microsoft Windows Phone Store in the next couple of months, finally allowing owners of Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 and 8 mobile operating system to enjoy the BBC iPlayer programmes.

Microsoft Working On Windows Phone 7.8 Live Tile Bug Update

Microsoft recently released the Windows Phone 7.8 update for older Windows Phone 7.5 devices, and a number of users have reported some issues with the live tiles on their handset since the update.

Microsoft has now acknowledged the issue and have said that they are working on a fix for the problem, the news was announced on Twitter by Microsoft’s Joe Belfoire.

Nokia Lumia 928 Turns Up In Verizon’s Inventory

It looks like there is a new Nokia Windows Phone handset headed to Verizon Wireless, the Nokia Lumia 928, which has apparently turned up in the inventory system of Verizon Wireless.

It is possible that the Nokia Lumia 928 will be Verizon’s version of the Nokia Lumia 920, which is currently available with AT&T in the US, and the handset is expected to share the same specifications as the Nokia Lumia 920.
