HTC Teases A White HTC Windows Phone 8X

It looks like HTC has plans to launch a new white version of their HTC Windows Phone 8X smartphone, as the following photo was posted on Twitter by HTC with the phrase ‘Sometimes you just need to tune it all out. Let us help.’.

We suspect that HTC will announce the white version of their HTC Windows Phone 8x at Mobile World Congress later this month and the device is expected to come with the same specifications as the existing model.

Windows Phone 7.8 Update Bug Hits Nokia Lumia Devices

Microsoft released the Windows Phone 7.8 software update recently, and Nokia started rolling out the updates to its Lumia Windows Phone handsets last week, and now it would appear that some Lumia devices are experiencing a bug after the update.

 

According to the guys over at WMPoweruser, who have updated a number of their Nokia Lumia devices to Windows Phone 7.8, there appears to be a bug with Live Tiles on their devices which leaves the tiles stuck.

Windows Phone users unable to download apps, receiving error code 805a0193

Thumbs twitching, in an attempt to get on that new Spotify beta? You might have had a frustrating morning. Multiple users are reporting that when trying to purchase or download apps on their Windows Phone they are instead receiving error code 805a0193. As handy as the code is, there's no further information about what is causing the problem. Unlike previous issues that seemed more localized, this current instance appears pretty widespread with reports coming from the US, and France amongst others. Are you affected? Let us know in the comments. In the meantime we've contacted Microsoft to see what's up.

Spotify now available on Windows Phone 8

It's true, folks: Spotify is finally available as a free download on Windows Phone 8, which should come as a happy surprise for users who have been sorely missing the perks of the music streaming service on their brand new devices. Until now, the app was only available for legacy Windows Phone users, but it's finally made its way to WP8. If you don't see it available in your phone's store, hang on for a few hours; the app just barely started rolling out, so it may take a little while to reach everyone.

Nokia Flame 4G Turns up on T-Mobile Roadmap

If you’re a T-Mobile customer who is looking for a new phone running Windows 8, a roadmap for the company shows a new device is inbound. A leaked screenshot has turned up today that shows April 24 listed for the launch of a device called the Nokia Flame 4G.

According to a recent report by research firm strategy analytics, Microsoft’s Windows Phone became the third most popular smartphone platform in the US in the fourth quarter of 2012, and apparently took the third place from BlackBerry.

Nokia Lumia 710 On T-Mobile Will Not Get Windows Phone 7.8 Update

Nokia recently announced that the Windows Phone 7.8 software update would be rolled out shortly to a number of their Lumia smartphones, one of those devices listed was the Nokia Lumia 710.

Now it would appear that not all versions of the Nokia Lumia 710 will be getting the Windows Phone 7.8 software update, as T-Mobile have announced that the Lumia 710 on their network will not be updated to Windows Phone 7.8 you can see their statement below.

Nokia Lumia With 41 Megapixel Camera Coming At MWC 2013 (Rumor)

Last year at Mobile World Congress Nokia introduced their PureView 808 smartphone, which ran Symbian, and Nokia have previoulsy said that they would launch a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 device with their PureView camera technology.

We have been hearing rumors over the last few week that Nokia will be announcing a Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphone with their PureView technology at this months Mobile World Congress.

UK mobile carrier Vodafone is now offering the latest Windows Phone 8 smartphones on their network, there are a total of five different Windows Phone 8 handsets available from HTC and Nokia.

The five Windows Phone 8 handsets now available on Vodafone include, the HTC Windows Phone 8S and 8X, as well as the Nokia Lumia 620, Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.

Huawei 4Afrika Windows Phone 8 Handset Announced

Microsoft and Huawei have announced a new Windows Phone smartphone that is designed specifically for Africa, the handset is called the Huawei 4Afrika and it will come with Windows Phone 8.

The Huawei 4Afrika features a 4 inch LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and is powered by a dual core 1.2GHz processor, the device also comes with 512MB of RAM.
