Nokia Sells 4.4 Million Lumia Windows Phone Handsets In Quarter 4 2012

It would appear that things could be looking up for Nokia, and the Lumia range of Windows Phone smartphones, as the company has released some details on how many Lumia devices they sold in quarter 4 of 2012.

Nokia managed to sell a total of 4.4 million Nokia Lumia Windows Phone devices in the last quarter of 2012, and they sold a total of 15.9 million smartphones, which includes the 4.4 million Lumia handsets, 2.2 million Symbian devices and 9.3 million Asha devices.

Nokia Lumia 920 And 820 Launched In India

Nokia has announced that it is launching its latest Windows Phone 8 smartphones in India, the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 920 will be available in India from this Friday.

On top of that Nokia has also announced that they will be launching the Nokia Lumia 620 in India next month, and the Nokia Lumia 920 will retail for INR38,199 which works out at around $698 in India.

Huawei Ascend W1 Windows Phone Headed To O2 UK

Yesterday we saw Huawei’s new Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Huawei Ascend W1, and now Huawei has announced that the device will launch in the UK with mobile carrier O2.

The Huawei Ascend W1 comes with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8, and it features a 4 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, processing is on the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.2GHz dual core processor, there is also an Adreno 305 GPU.

SIM Free Nokia Lumia 620 Lands In The UK January 28th

The SIM free version of the Nokia Lumia 620 recently went up for pre-order in the UK, and now it looks like we have a launch date for the device, it will be available from the 28th of January.

According to the guys over at Clove, they will have the device in stock on January 28th, and it comes with a 3.8-inch TFT screen sporting a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480, and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4, supported by 512mb of RAM.

Huawei has officially announced their latest Windows Phone smartphone, the Huawei Ascend W1, and now we have a video of the device in action from the guys over at WPCentral.

The Huawei Ascend W1 features a 4 inch WVGA display and is powered by a dual core 1.2GHz processor and comes with 512MB of RAM, there is also dual cameras on the device.

Samsung ATIV Odyssey Windows Phone 8 Smartphone For Verizon Announced

US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless has announced that they will be offering the Samsung ATIV Odyssey on their network in the US, and the device is expected to be available with Verizon in the next few weeks.

The Samsung ATIV Odyssey comes with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8, and the device features a 4 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, plus dual cameras.

Windows Phone 8 Devices ‘Coming Soon’ To Sprint

Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 devices are available with the majority of the major mobile carriers in the US, which include AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, and now US carrier Sprint has announced that Windows Phone 8 smartphones are headed to their network shortly.

Sprint have not given any specific details on when the first Windows Phone 8 smartphones will be available in their network, although we suspect we wont have to wait too much longer to find out.

Skype App For Windows Phone Updated

Microsoft has released a new version of their Skype app for their Windows Phone platform, the new version comes with some a number of improvements and bug fixes for Windows Phone 8.

Skype have removed the Windows Phone People Hub integration, according to the release this has been removed due to stability issues, this feature is expected to be available at a later date.

Microsoft Adds 75,000 Apps To Windows Phone Store In 2012

Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store is still quite a way behind Apple’s iOS Store and Google’s Android App store in terms of the amount of applications available to download.

Microsoft has announced that they added a total of 75,000 new applications to the Windows Phone Store in 2012, which has doubled the amount of applications available to 150,000.
