Liu Bolin is an artist who camouflages himself to blend almost seamlessly into various backgrounds in the city. You have to have some serious peepers to be able to spot the dude. To be honest, I’m not really buying the whole ‘artist’ thing. I think Liu over here is a hardcore sorcerer. And YOU KNOW how I feel about sorcery — burn him at the stake! Jk jk, I don’t even know what that means. But for real, Liu? Just teach me some of your spells and I won’t tell anyone your secret.

Mario and Luigi as Ghostbusters: Who Ya Gonna Call?
I think we finally have a worthy idea for the next Ghostbusters film, based on this work of fine geek art. Imagine Mario and Luigi Ghostbusting and saving Peach from Boo in the haunted castle.
This awesome painting is the work of artist joehavasy who makes all kinds of cool geek art. Being a fan of both Super Mario games and Ghostbusters, this mash-up makes complete sense to me – and I for one, would love to see a live-action version of this painting on the big screen. It took over a month to paint and measures 20 x 30″. It’s painted on a piece of birch wood with a wooden frame backing it.
The beam of light was painted with a fluorescent paint that even gives off a glow in darker rooms and Boo’s tongue has some gloss medium on it so that it actually looks wet as well. This painting will cost you $1,200(USD). That’s a whole lot of gold coins, but I still think it’s totally worth it.
Darth Vader Riding a Tauntaun, That is All.
Need some classy geek art to decorate your place with? Try this awesome Darth Vader riding a Tauntaun painting. It’s like the Dark Lord is in the Imperial cavalry, mounted on his noble Tauntaun steed. In the desert. With a red cape. Makes perfect sense to me.
Actually, this image is a reinterpretation of Jacques Luis David’s classic Napoleon Crossing the Alps. This original piece of acrylic art on canvas was created by Etsy seller SteGentileNerdArt - who has lots of other amazing geek art to help geek up your walls.
This original painting measures 60cm x 80cm (~24″ x 31.5″) and will cost you $659(USD). Sure, that’s expensive, but it’s totally worth it to have Vader riding a Tauntaun on your wall.
Korean Artist Creates Wistful Portraits Using Wire Mesh
Wire mesh brings images of mosquitoes trying to get inside the bedroom and our vain attempts to stop them to try doing so. However, Korean artist Seung Mo Park decided to use wire mesh for a completely different purpose.
He has created a series of beautiful portraits and art objects by ...

Artist Uses Milk & Human Body As Canvas (NSFW)
Painter Alexa Meade has teamed up with model Sheila Vand to create a series of gorgeous living paintings called “MILK: what will you make of me?”. Meade is already known for painting directly on bodies to make 3D paintings, but this series adds a new interesting element to the mix. Vand’s body is not only covered in paint, but submerged in a canvas of milk. The end result makes it seem as though the subject is actually being painted on a flat surface. You can see more artwork and behind the scenes photos at Alex // Sheila.
Final Fantasy IV Demon Wall Art: Painting Like a Boss (Battle)
Aside from shows like iam8bit, galleries and museums are rarely places to find cool gamer art. But it doesn’t take long over on Etsy to turn up a wide variety of impressive artworks for fans of all sorts of video games. At the moment, I’ve got my eye set on this awesome original painting, inspired by Final Fantasy IV.
This original acrylic was painted by John Moriarty and depicts a scene in which Edge, Rosa, Cecil, Rydia and Kain go up against the evil Demon Wall. The painting has so much depth thanks to the effective use of light and shadow, that I thought the demon was about to pop out of my computer screen and crush me. So I can only imagine how great this would look hanging on a wall with proper illumination.
For $475(USD), you get the original 16 x 20″ painting in a rustic gold frame. Since it’s an original, it’s a one-of-a-kind piece, so if you want it, get on over to Etsy now and claim it before it’s gone. If that’s too much Gil for you, grab the 8.5 x 11″ print for $15.
Movie Character Dolls Repainted To Look More Realistic
Unfortunately many action figures and collectable dolls leave a lot to be desired. Mainly in the face department where it causes one to question how this model got the go ahead for mass production. That… does NOT look like Johnny Depp. In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s just Ken in a store bought Jack Sparrow costume. Artist Noel Cruz repaints the faces of dolls to look more like the real deal. He’s done character dolls from many series like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Twilight, and even real-life people like Marilyn Monroe, Angelina Jolie, and Steve Carrell. All of them are truly impressive and worth a look. What’s not impressive but still worth a look? This hangnail I got. It’s gnarly! Do you think it’s infected?

This Horse Is A Painter
This is Justin. He’s a horse. A horse with a person-name. He’s also a horse with person abilities: he paints. The purebred Friesian has his own studio and gallery featuring his work. His paintings are for sale at his website with prices ranging from $150 to $2500. Wow, it’s stories like this that remind me of how inept I am. Plus, broke. I mean, what the heck’s he gonna do with all that money, anyway? Buy a car? Because if so, then I totally support him and I take back everything I said. I would LOVE to see a horse driving a car. That would be hilarioooouuuuus!
Here are some of Justin’s pieces. Pieces that you and I can’t afford:
Handimals: Hands Painted Like Animals
Handimals is a series of animal hand paintings. The work was done by artist Guido Daniele who did an amazing job tricking my eyeballs into believing that those things are actually animals and NOT hand paintings. In fact, I still don’t believe it. They just look so real. Each work takes up to 4 hours to complete which just goes to show, Guido over here is just as dedicated as he is talented. Double whammy!
Be sure to check out the rest of Guido’s work at his website. FYI the link’s a little NSFW on account of nekkid TTs so tell your boss you’ll BRB and GTFO before you click it.
