Visible Crossing

The Smart Crosswalk is a great way to ensure minimum pedestrian accidents when they use the crosswalk. Basically the crosswalk changes to red as soon as someone sets foot on it. The crosswalk is laced with sensors and during poor visibility (or night), it bears a hint of white illumination, making it perfectly visible to both pedestrians and vehicle drivers.

The construction design of Smart Crosswalk includes:

  • Sealed metal box with light elements installed inside, which are set in the cradle, formed in the roadway.
  • Splicers modules from enforced light-transmitting glass with relief on the topside for safe movement and relief on the inner side to improve the light-diffusing qualities of the product.
  • Frames made of metal profile for fixing the whole construction to the pavement.
  • Incoming electrical supply can be organized differently: from the municipal electric network; with the help of light or heat accumulators or by installations that convert kinetic energy into electricity.

Warm Toes In Winter

Winter is far away and so it this concept-to-reality project, notable however is the idea of an alternate solution to keeping shoes dry and warm. Warm Shoestring is a project where shoelaces are made from a specialized fire-resistant material and that plug into an adapter. The adapter regulates the temperature and the string warms up the shoes. Its ideal for countries that experience bitter cold and where shoes take longer to dry up.

This Cup Doesn’t Fly

I love the convenience of a disposable cup, but sometimes you get handed a very shoddy one that tipples over at the slightest breeze. In fact recently at this out door restaurant, they served us our dinks in paper cups and just as I was half way through, the glass blew out with the wind, spilling the drink on the table. If it had the weighted option of the Cup Ring, then I guess no wind or accidental touch would dare to tip it over. So in way, though its not rocket science, Cup Ring is a practical solution to a very plausible problem.
