Star Trek Klingon Bat’leth Multi-Tool: Pocket Space, The Final Frontier

Because Star Trek is just as determined as Star Wars to have every product made available with their own theme, here is an officially licensed Klingon Bat’leth 6-in-1 multi-tool. The tool, available on Amazon (affiliate link), features a bottle opener, three different hex wrenches, a flat head screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, a cord cutter, and a butterfly wrench. Unfortunately, an award-winning forehead is not included.

Will I be replacing my everyday-carry multi-tool with this one? I’m not sure; my current multi-tool is a 10-in-1, so that’s four more tools I wouldn’t be carrying. Plus, that one has pliers, and pliers are one of the tools I use most often. That and the tweezers. I get a lot of splinters because I don’t believe in shoes.

I do love the form factor. You know, I actually tried building my own full-scale bat’leth weapon last summer but abandoned the project when I realized there was slim to little chance it would end without me losing fingers. At least I’m realistic.

Guy Forges Klingon Bat’leth, Earns Much Honor

If you are a fan of the Awe Me channel, then you already know that for their series Man at Arms, master swordsmith and renowned propmaster, Tony Swatton, forges cool weapons and then takes them into the field to try them out. This week, Tony has created yet another epic weapon – Worf’s Klingon Bat’leth.

He had gotten his hands on a cheap Chinese copy of a Klingon Bat’Leth, but he wasn’t happy with it, so he decided to make his own. And it isn’t as simple as cutting a piece of metal into shape and then swinging it at your enemies. This weapon was so sharp that Tony says it “almost cut his head off.” So he put on a chainmail cowl, a welding jacket and a leather apron to protect himself while working with it. Check out the build in the video clip below, and be sure to wait around until about 3:44 in to see it in action.

In the end, it is a thing of beauty and deadly sharp. It’s definitely not a toy. This thing will slice and dice you whether a Klingon is wielding it or not.

I hear ya. If it can’t kill, why would I want that? Well, if you are in a fight and lose your Bat’leth and your opponent and you are rolling around on the ground in hand to hand combat, just rip this small version off your neck and take his eye out. Aside from that, you can give this small version to your action figure and let him disembowel some other figure.

Sadly it has already sold on Etsy, but if you ask its creator, Starbright Silver, maybe she can make you another one. It seems like it would come in pretty handy as a weapon of last resort.
