If you’ve never heard of the Maersk Line Triple-E, it’s currently the World’s Largest Ship. The vessel measures over 1300-feet-long and 193 feet-wide, and can carry a whopping 18,000 20-foot-long containers of goods. Stood on its end, the Triple-E is 25% taller and almost as wide as New York’s Chrysler building.
Now, you can own this enormous ship in LEGO form – though it is quite a bit smaller than the real deal.
The freshly announced LEGO Maersk Line Triple-E model (#10241) measures about 25″(L) x 8″(H) x 3″(W) when complete, and consists of 1,518 individual LEGO bricks.
The boat model is highly-detailed, complete with rotating gold propellers, twin 8-cylinder engine models, adjustable rudders, moving cranes, detachable lifeboards, and of course lots of little shipping containers. The set also includes a display stand with a fact plaque, as well as the gold coin that has been placed under the mast of Maersk Line ships for good luck.
Keep an eye out on shop.LEGO.com and LEGO Stores in January 2014 to order this awesome model of this modern engineering marvel for $149.99(USD).
