‘Beam Me Up, Santa’ Ugly Star Trek Christmas Sweater: Live Long and Presents

Just when you thought the perfect Star Trek ugly Christmas sweater already existed (see: this ‘Trek The Halls’ ugly Christmas sweater), Numskull Designs returns with an even gaudier one in the form of this ‘Beam Me Up, Santa’ sweater. I think we can all agree that pun is a stretch, even for a tacky ugly Christmas sweater. The title of this article too.

The officially licensed Star Trek sweater is 100% knitted and available from Just Geek for $36 in sizes 3XS to 4XL. It was inspired by Star Trek: The Original Series, featuring the likenesses of Captain Kirk and Spock on the front, as well as the Enterprise, Santa and his reindeer, as well as some snowflakes, planets, and meteors. I… don’t remember watching that particular episode.

Sure, the sweater doesn’t make a lot of sense and is basically a garish mashup of Star Trek and Christmas themes, but I already ordered four with rush shipping, hoping they get here in time for my family to wear for our annual Christmas card photo.

Captain Kirk Crew Socks: Sockship Enterprise

James T. Kirk has commanded several versions of the Starship Enterprise, now let him command your feet. Beam these Captain Kirk crew socks onto your feet today. Your sock drawer needs a tough, no-nonsense leader to keep the rest of your socks in line. Kirk is comfortable on your feet and he knows how to handle first contact with the ground and every contact after.

Captain Kirk socks are especially good if your feet have corns Gorns, because he knows how to take care of those too. I like how they have his arms at the side as he clenches his fist like he is going to punch his way out of your shoes. These socks will surely get you the ladies. Green ladies, blue ladies with antenna, tribble ladies, ladies with beaks, ladies with ridged heads, and so much more.

These officially-licensed Star Trek socks are one size fits most (up to men’s size 12). They’ll get you through life’s challenges like the Kobayashi Maru, Tholian webs, aliens turning into piles of salt, and having to sit through Spock playing alien musical instruments.

Other than the Spock socks, these are the best socks ever. They belong in your crew quarters, and on your feet. Grab a pair today at ThinkGeek for $9.99.

Captain Kirk Bookends: Bridge to Library

James T. Kirk. He’s a hero. A legend. He’s captain of the starship Enterprise. And now he wants to hold up your books. Is there anything this man can not do?

He is sitting in his chair looking thoughtful as usual, but ready for action. If anyone tries to mess with your books they are going to get a phaser blast to the face. Make sure you include some Shakespeare and a copy of A Tale of Two Cities. Kirk loves that stuff.

This awesome bookend measures 10-inches tall and is limited to just 500 pieces worldwide. He will cost you $114.99(USD) from Entertainment Earth. He will gladly hold up all of your books, DVDs, or whatever.

Kirk Was Here Cosplay: Captain Baby Daddy

We know that Kirk didn’t discriminate when it came to romancing women, but he especially loved the green-skinned beauties. With that in mind, I present to you the best Star Trek cosplay ever. A pregnant Orion woman with a sign that says Kirk was here.

Being pregnant doesn’t stop women from attending conventions and cosplaying. It probably wouldn’t stop Kirk either if you know what I mean. This smart woman simply made her baby bump a part of her costume. Poor Kirk. One day he is going to get a bunch of kids showing up all at once looking for their daddy. Imagine the child support payments!

Kid Builds Life-Size LEGO Captain Kirk, Should Be Called “Captain Brick”

If you’ve been following Technabob for a while, you might recall Evan Bacon, the teenager who’s built a number of epic LEGO models of superheroes. The 15-year-old has recently expanded his collection of life-size characters, adding Captain James Tiberius Kirk to the mix.

Evan modeled LEGO Kirk after William Shatner’s original character, using over 18,000 individual bricks (glued together to make sure it doesn’t come apart.) While it measures nearly six-feet tall, it weighs just 90 pounds, which dare I say is much less than Shatner ever did as an adult, even when he was in good enough shape to fight the Gorn.

Evan showed off Kirk at this year’s Comicpalooza in Houston, TX. So what’s next for young Evan? He’s currently working on a life-size Wonder Woman, which he plans on bringing to the RTX Convention this July in Austin. If you happen to be in the area, you should check it out.

You’ve got to wonder what Evan’s room looks like at home. Is it filled with these creations? Do they sit at the dinner table? Is he building his own LEGO army?

Pixar-Style Star Trek Characters

Hollywood is always about the remake, and sometimes it’s actually done pretty well, like the the new Star Trek film(s), under the guidance of J.J. Abrams. In the future, don’t be surprised to see it coming in animated kind of from, a-la Pixar style.

Everything looks better when Pixar and Disney ...
