These Octopus Chandeliers Are The Best Kind Of Chandelier

Check out these fun octopus chandeliers by artist Adam Wallacavage. They’re made out of plaster and epoxy resin, then decorated with powders, spray paints, and glitter. Just like a real octopus. Jk, real octopuses are made out of tentacles, water, and squid ink. Everybody knows that.   All images via Beautiful/Decay

Cube Lamp Cast Intricate Shadows

Cube Lamp Cast Intricate Shadows
Intersections is an art installation by Anila Quayyum Agha. It’s made up of a 6 and half foot wooden cube with patterns carved into it and a light that shines through to project intricate designs onto the walls of a 35 by 32 foot room. Shadow sorcery!! For real though, this ain’t your grampa’s making [...]

Chandelier Inside a Lightbulb is the Turducken of Lighting

king edison lamp2 Chandelier Inside a Lightbulb is the Turducken of Lighting
The King Edison Pendant Lamp is a miniature chandelier inside a lightbulb. A mystery wrapped up in an enigma. A ship in a bottle… of lighting. A turducken of illumination. This hanging lamp, designed by Young & Battaglia measures a scant 6″ diameter by a bit over 8″ high and combines the glamor of a King’s chandelier with the simplicity of an edison light bulb.

Get the look of an elegant ornate chandelier in a tiny space. I can picture rows of these hanging over tables at a swanky restaurant or a cluster of them over a funky dining room table. The brass chandelier is inside a clear hand blown glass shade with satin chrome fittings. So small, so beautiful. The other great thing is that it’s way easier to dust than a full size chandelier. Nice lighting, even the bee likes it (WTF?).

Awesome Octopus Chandelier

Awesome Octopus Chandelier
Designer Mason Parker made this stained glass chandelier shaped like an octopus. The tentacles light up but they’re also detachable. Why you’d want to detach a poor innocent stained glass octo’s tentacle is beyond me. You’re a monster! The masterpiece is going for $18,000 which is about 1500 times more money than I have in [...]

Fancy!: A Chandelier Inside A Light Bulb

Young & Battaglia designed the King Edison, a light bulb that has a functional mini-chandelier inside. You can buy your very own fancy-ass chandelight bulb over at Mineheart for just $600. Seriously though, are you people trying to blow my mind with cute and tiny? Because KABOOM! it’s totally working. Now if someone would help me scoop up all this brain matter and maybe call an ambulance, that would be really helpful.

Awesome Chandelier Casts Creepy Forest Shadows All Over Your Room’s Walls

Forms-in-NatureThe above chandelier is a “light sculpture” by designers Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz, from the design firm HildenDiaz. When the light is switched on, it casts creepy, yet awesome shadows of vines or a forest all over your walls. It’s called Forms in Nature, and was “partly inspired by Ernst Haeckel’s (1834-1919) detailed plots from nature.” And although it currently only exists as a one-off unit, there are rumours that the pair is looking into launching a Kickstarter campaign after viral interest generated a large demand for the product. Until they do, however, we don’t know how much it could possibly cost or even when it might ever be available for purchase.

Octopus & Alien Tentacle Chandeliers

Designer Adam Wallacavage brings us this series of Octopus and Alien Tentacle Chandeliers. Definitely the type of thing I imagine King Triton has hanging in his parlor. Not that I… think about King Triton often… I just… NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. Adam uses lamp parts, epoxy clay, and spray paint to create the light fixtures. They’re prettyyyy bad ass. Especially if you’re into octopi, aliens, or chandeliers. If you’re into all of the above? Congratulations! You’ve probably got a very, um, how do I say this? Memorable personality. Let’s just put it like that. I’m saying people think you’re weird.
