Build Your Own LEGO-Like Whataburger and Fries

Whataburger: I’ve never been. I imagine I’d like it because I love almost all fast food restaurants. They’re one of life’s guilty pleasures. And to immortalize their allegedly iconic burger, Whataburger’s online gift shop is selling a modular plastic BRXLZ Buildable Burger and Fries kit so you can display their food without worrying about attracting insects or vermin. The 994-piece BRXLZ (don’t call it LEGO) set has all the pieces necessary to construct a cheeseburger, fries, and food tray.

Will it last even longer than a preservative-laden McDonald’s hamburger? That remains to be seen, although my money is on the Quarter Pounder. I mean, even plastic breaks down eventually. Obviously, my wife would probably make her burger without the onions because she doesn’t like raw onions, only cooked onions. Me? I’ll eat onions any way I can get them, including off the floor. I’m not proud or embarrassed; just a little gross.

Giant Inflatable Cheeseburger Sprinkler: Waterburger

Summer is upon us, and you know what that means: making your kids play outside so they stop wrecking the house and driving you crazy. And to aid you on your mission of prolonged sanity comes this giant cheeseburger water sprinkler. Available on Amazon (affiliate link), the inflatable burger will provide hours of backyard fun while you get a little peace and quiet indoors, presumably with the patio door locked.

The burger includes stakes to keep it in place and the sprinkler on top spins around as it sprays, so there’s no escaping its watery wrath. And why would I want to? It’s hot out and my air conditioning broke last summer.

You know, I have fond memories of running through the sprinkler as a child. I also have fond memories of running through the sprinkler as an adult, as recently as last weekend. You’re never too old for some sprinkler and slip ‘n slide action – that’s my motto. It’s important to stay young at heart because God knows the rest of my body is already giving out on me.

McDonald’s Korea just launched a limited-edition Big Mac-inspired stackable lunchbox!

If you think about it, a burger is a stackable product too… so it wasn’t going to be long before someone drew the parallel and made a burger-shaped stackable tiffin box!

It seems like that brainwave came to McDonald’s Korea, which just unveiled the limited-edition lunchbox inspired by their iconic burger. The lunchbox comes with vertically stackable containers, celebrating the traditional Korean ‘dosirak’, a portioned lunchbox quite similar to the Japanese bento box. Its circular, vertically stackable shape allows it to perfectly mirror the stackable design of a burger, with orange containers with artwork on the side resembling patties leaves, and sauces, while the lid on top comes with a sesame seed pattern to complete the visual experience!

The lunchbox sports two containers that lock together using clasps, with a sesame-bun cover on the top and two fold-out handles to carry the box around. The two containers have separate lids of their own too, helping retain heat while ensuring that liquids or gravies don’t leak out during transit.

For a limited time, Korean patrons of the global fast-food giant can get their hands on this quirky lunchbox for ₩7,500 KRW (approximately $7 USD) upon purchase of a Big Mac or a Big Mac Bacon. I’m lovin’ it!

Burger Socks: Hold the Lettuce Between Your Toes

Hungry? How about a delicious, juicy cheeseburger? That sounds yummy to me. What if I told you somebody’s stinky feet had been touching your sandwich? You’d have second thoughts about cramming it into your mouth for sure. So while these cheeseburger socks are cute, they’re definitely not fit for consumption.

Rainbow Socks makes this this whimsical and colorful set of printed socks that look like a burger when folded up and stacked. In fact, you’re looking at a double cheeseburger, fully-loaded with two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. Wait a second. That’s the Big Mac song. Actually, the burger socks come with tomatoes too, something McDonald’s wouldn’t try until the McDLT.

Of course, they come packaged in an appropriate burger style container too. You can grab two pairs of the burger socks over on Amazon for $19.99. Would you like fries with that?

McDonald’s Quarter Pounder Candles: I’m Lightin’ It

McDonald’s isn’t exactly known for the best food, but it is certainly one of the most consistent places to grab a quick bite on the road – and sometimes you just crave the textures and salty seasonings of their burgers and fries. If you enjoy the occasional Mickey D’s burger like I do, then check out this unusual item from the McDonald’s gift shop. It’s a pack of candles that smell just like a Quarter Pounder.

The set of six candles comes in beef patty, cheese, hamburger bun, pickle, cheese, and onion scents. While you could burn them individually (mmm, there’s nothing like the fresh scent of burning onions!) they’re really designed to be burned simultaneously. The resulting fragrance should approximate the scent of a Quarter Pounder with cheese. Or if you’re in Europe, a Royale with cheese. Of course, you could just go buy a Quarter Pounder, but it won’t last 25 hours like these candles will. Or maybe it will, if you can resist the temptation of eating it.

If you’re simply craving this aroma, the candles will be available in limited quantities from the Golden Arches Unltd. store any day now.

LEGO Food Stands Look Good Enough to Eat

For every awesome LEGO kit you can buy, there are dozens more that creative LEGO builders come up with that you can’t. At least not yet. Here’s one such set that’s currently seeking support over on the LEGO Ideas website.

Clearly inspired by buildings like LA’s iconic Tail of the Pup and the Bluth’s Banana stand from Arrested Development, LEGO builder FrostBricks came up with this awesome set of food shacks that look like giant-size fast food. The set envisions a chain of restaurants from the “Fabulous Fernando Brothers,” who serve up tasty treats to LEGO minifigs.

There’s a cheeseburger joint, a milkshake stand, and a french fry restaurant which is making me crave some Mickey D’s fries right now. The kit would include tiny food accessories for minifigs to feast on, and each stand would have fully detailed interiors.

If you like these as much as I do, show your support with a vote over on the LEGO Ideas website, and hopefully we’ll be enjoying them as official LEGO kits sometime in the future. In the meantime, I’m heading out to get a burger and fries for lunch now.

Mcdonald’s Hong Kong Serves up Justice League Themed Meals

It looks like McDonald’s Hong Kong is rolling out a line of Justice League character themed meals. I can only guess that the Joker is involved and this is their goal.

The image here shows the Batman Diner Double Beef with Squeezy Cheesy Fries. At least the burger isn’t black. Glad they didn’t take the Dark Knight thing literally.

You can check out a review here. Spoiler alert: You have to put the squeezy cheese on the fries yourself. Well, I guess you have to do something to burn off some of these calories.

Have Yourself a Cheesy Valentine’s With Some Cheeseburger Red Wine

Cheeseburger Wibne

What’s wrong with having cheeseburgers on your Valentine’s date this year? Times are tough and fancy dinners are out of the question in this bad economy, especially if you’re already holding down two jobs to make ends meet. But while you can do away with the five-course meal, don’t do away with the wine, because a good nightcap sometimes makes all the difference.

There’s only one drink you can turn to after a meal of cheeseburgers, and that’s Rootstock Cellars‘ Cheeseburger Red wine. Its flavor was designed to complement a post-burger palate and is described as “smooth and jammy, bursting with red fruit that so perfectly compliment a slight char.”

Each bottle is priced at $12.99.

Cheeseburger Bedding: Hold the Pillows, Hold the Lettuce

If you have been dying to get between two buns and sleep in a non-greasy cheeseburger bed, this is the bedding for you. It comes from Davidelfin of Madrid. It looks like a cheeseburger, but thankfully doesn’t smell like one.
cheeseburger bed

In fact it’s a double cheeseburger, which is even better. This duvet will cost you €90 – €130 (~$117 – $170USD) depending on the size of your bed. For that price, you get two square sesame seed bun pillow covers too.

Of course this is just going to make you hungry at bed time. Still, I wouldn’t kick it out of my bed for dropping sesame seeds.

WTF Of The Day: World’s Largest Cheeseburger

attachment

There’s something about broken records that makes us laugh, the whole idea of surpassing our own limits just for trivial things is just lovely. And if we can feed people in the process it’s even better.

The fact that someone tracks the records for largest burger in the world is ...
