Dark Souls: Remastered for Nintendo Switch Finally Gets a Release Date
Dark Souls fans who have a Nintendo Switch have been waiting for a port of this classic game for a long time, and finally it’s nearly here. After being delayed from its initial May release, now have a real date for Dark Souls: Remastered on the Switch, which will arrive on October 19th, along with a companion amiibo figure.
This is great news because as of now Nintendo Switch users don’t have a game in which you die every 2 minutes. Really, this game should have arrived by now, but sometimes these delays happen. It could be due to the developer just wanting to make the game better, or bug fixes that take a while, etc. In this case, it likely took longer than expected to adapt the game to the Switch’s controls, since this is a very difficult game with some complex control issues. The PS4, PC and Xbox remastered version all launched as scheduled back in May after all.
Anyway, your time is almost here Switch users. The Nintendo version has 1080p resolution when docked in TV mode and 720p when you are playing the handheld version. The frame rate is clocked at 30 fps, and the game will support 1 to 6 players in online mode. Also, DLC will be included in this remaster. Have fun, Switch fans. This is a great game, even if you will die 10,000 times playing it.

Fan Recreates Dark Souls in LEGO Worlds
Over the years, the Dark Souls franchise has gained a pretty big following. One Dark Souls fan is obsessed enough that he has recreated Firelink Shrine as a scene within LEGO Worlds. Yes, it is as awesome as it sounds. If you’ve never played LEGO Worlds, it’s a big building game where you play with and collect digital bricks, and more.
MythicMarty says that the geometry and combat were within the capabilities of LEGO Worlds, but the user interface and sound effects were overlaid on the video in After Effects. I really love what he has done here and I would love to play this game. This is just so well done. All of the details here are just awesome.
Can you please make this happen LEGO? I just never realized how cute the Dark Souls world would be in LEGO form. This must have taken a long time to make. Well, if I can’t play the game, at least I can enjoy this awesome video.

Dark Souls Coming to Nintendo Switch This May
Usually when I think of Nintendo, I think of cartoony games like Super Mario Bros. and Splatoon, so when I hear about a more adult and darker title coming to a Nintendo system, it sounds weird to me. Nevertheless, a very cool and very dark game is on it’s way to Nintendo consoles. A remastered version of From Software’s genre-defining classic Dark Souls is coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 25th. It’s also headed to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Dark Souls first launched in 2011, and the updated game will run at up to 1080p resolution at 60 fps, add general visual and performance enhancements, and include the Artorias of the Abyss DLC. You have to explore a very deadly world filled with strange monsters and you will die often, which is part of its charm. The game’s combat can be difficult. It’s all about patience as you refine your skills and advance.
This will be the first time the series has come to a Nintendo Platform. How well it will do on Nintendo is anyone’s guess, but at least Nintendo fans now have the option of picking this up.
Get ready to see YOU DIED often, Nintendo fans.

The Lord of the Rings, Aragorn’s Ring
“One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.” Okay, right franchise this time, but the wrong ring. I could have chosen to include the super famous One Ring, but I decided to go with something that looks a bit more like an engagement ring. This is the ring Aragorn gave to his betrothed beauty, Arwen. If that doesn’t scream romance, I don’t know what does.
Harry Potter Golden Snitch Engagement Ring
Remember when Harry Potter caught the Golden Snitch during his very first year at Hogwarts? Back before all the Voldemort drama? And remember when Harry got that same snitch years later from Dumbledore and it held the resurrection stone? Who would have guessed that so much would happen to poor Harry in those short years? Anyway, the golden snitch makes for some great jewelry, and I love its design implemented on this pretty little ring.

Beauty and the Beast Inspired Engagement Ring
“A tale as old as time, a song as old as rhyme…” Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorite animated movies, and it’s becoming one of my favorite live-action musicals as well. Everything about it is so magical. And this Beauty and the Beast inspired ring is magical as well. Just look at that gorgeous rose design. I can’t get enough of it.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Air Nomad Engagement Ring
“My first girlfriend turned into the moon.” Hopefully, your girlfriend doesn’t turn into the moon, after she sees this amazing Avatar: The Last Airbender ring. If your girlfriend is into something that shows off her nerdiness in a slightly more subtle way, this is the ring for her!

Top 10 Dark Souls T-Shirts
Dark Souls is one of the most popular video game series of the past few years, and it’s also one of the toughest. Reminiscent of old-school games of the past, it’s challenging, brutal, punishing, and often unforgiving. In fact, the game’s slogan, is “prepare to die.” You will die over and over again, but for some reason, you’ll feel compelled to keep playing. This series is seriously addicting, even though it’s also incredibly frustrating. The satisfaction you’ll get from finally beating a boss you’ve been struggling with, feels absolutely amazing.
If you haven’t played any Dark Souls games, or its spinoff, Bloodborne, you’ll want to do yourself a favor and play them! If you’re already a fan, or know a fan, you’ll want to check out these top ten Dark Souls T-Shirts!

The Abyss Watchers are a memorable boss in the series, as is Knight Artorias, the Abyss Walker. If you’ve conquered theses bosses, this t-shirt should be your reward! It’s simple, stylish, and will show off your love of Dark Souls.
Dark Souls Dank Souls T-Shirt
Hey, uh, I got some dank souls for you…You’ve probably heard the term, “dank memes” recently, and this is a great example of one. Wanna be hip like all the cool kids and keep up with your memes? Wear this t-shirt. (As you can tell from my language, I am not one of the cool kids.)
Dark Souls Adventure Souls T-Shirt
Adventure Time and Dark Souls, two polar opposites of each other. A lighthearted, hilarious cartoon, and a dark, violent, depressing video game, yet somehow, they complement each other nicely. I love this t-shirt a lot, and it’s great for showing off your pride for multiple fandoms.
Dark Souls Anor Londo Archery Club T-Shirt
Getting annoyed by the Anor Londo archers? Happens to the best of us. So why not join their archery club? Of course, you can’t actually, but you can pretend to while wearing this t-shirt. That’s got to ease the irritation at least a little, right?

Dark Souls Mimic Ball T-Shirt
Another shirt featuring two different series, this one is perfect for Dark Souls and Pokemon fans. It’s awesome, I mean, just look at those teeth. Creepy, yet the Pokeball makes it cute somehow. Dark Souls Praise the Sun T-Shirt
“Praise the sun!” This is one of the most widespread, popular lines about Dark Souls. Everyone has heard this line before, and it makes the series immediately recognizable. Solaire of Astora, the character who first utters this line, is a great character, one of the greatest in the entire series.
Dark Souls Git Gud Scrub T-Shirt
Take a look at any online forum related to Dark Souls, and you’ll see this variation of “get good,” everywhere. Dark Souls is notorious for its high difficulty level, and its players are probably some of the most so-called, “hardcore” gamers around. Newbies to the Souls series often have a very difficult time adapting to the level of difficulty, and when they ask for help, many people simply say, “git gud.” It’s a true statement, after all, practice really does make perfect when it comes to this series.
Dark Souls Keep Calm You Died T-Shirt
Hilarious, yet sadly true. Dark Souls is not a series you should stay calm in. Stand around, or walk slowly, and you’ll die for sure. You have to be alert at all times, as enemies can ambush you at any moment. Stay on your toes when playing this series, and don’t keep calm.
Dark Souls The Maiden T-Shirt
The maiden is one of the few friendly characters you’ll encounter, and therefore, you’ll likely grow quite the attachment to her. This t-shirt will show your affection towards this awesome character.
Hopefully, you found some t-shirts you like! Remember, there’s plenty more out there for every Dark Souls fan!
Dark Souls 3 First Person Mod: The Faceless King
So you’ve finished Dark Souls 3 54 times, including a no dodging, no armor, level 1 run where you used a theremin as a controller. While your crotch was filled with fire ants. Now you can do all of that from a fresh perspective, thanks to Zulliethewitch’s first person mod.
The mod appears to work like a charm, except for the fact that your character’s arms are invisible. But hey, at least you get to see what its like to be teabagged by a gigantic tree monster.

Dark Souls – The Board Game: Prepare to Dice
Sun praisers will soon be able to slay bosses without their consoles or PCs, thanks to Steamforged Games’ upcoming officially licensed Dark Souls – The Board Game. Based on its prototype, it does a great job of capturing the Souls series’ combat in a turn-based and tabletop format.
The board game can be played by one to four players. The core game had four character classes, 12 basic monsters or grunts, 5 mid-bosses and 3 bosses. However, because of Steamforged Games’ wildly successful Kickstarter campaign – which has been up for just 2 days as of this writing – the included content has expanded greatly. For instance, there’s now a fifth character class and two bosses.
The board game has two main mechanics that will resonate with Souls players. First is that player characters have only one pool for both stamina (for movement and actions) and health. It’s obviously not the case in the Souls video games, but the end result is familiar. You’ll have to think ahead and plan how risky you want to be on your turn. You can choose to unleash a barrage of attacks, but you might not have enough stamina to evade or withstand the enemy’s assault.
The second mechanic is more obvious. Like several RPG board games, Boss monsters in Dark Souls have a deck of moves. Once this deck is exhausted, the cards will be reactivated in the exact same order, which means you’ll know the boss’ upcoming moves if you were paying attention. Or if he’s killed you 37 million times.
The only thing I don’t like about the game is that the damage players deal is based on dice rolls. There’s no thematic reason for the damage to be that random, and I think it will make encounters drag on. Luckily, this is a board game, so we’re free to come up with house rules. Pledge at least ~$115 (USD) on Kickstarter to receive a copy of the board game as a reward.
