One of the standout features of the organizer is its compact yet highly functional design. Created to optimize small desk spaces, this organizer boasts a unique jigsaw puzzle structure with customizable sections, allowing users to arrange their desk tools in shapes that fit their needs. This flexibility transforms an ordinary desk into a more personalized, clutter-free environment, enhancing both productivity and creativity.

And as every desk warrior knows, coffee is an essential part of a productive workday. Daizo has thoughtfully integrated a built-in coaster, ensuring your coffee or drink has a designated spot while protecting your desk from spills. Moreover, the Daizo Desk organizer encourages healthy work habits. Maintaining an ergonomic setup and keeping your workspace clean, can prevent common issues like poor posture, eye strain, and general discomfort that often arise from cluttered, disorganized desks.

Many professionals today face challenges in keeping their workspaces organized. Limited desk space, combined with the need to store essential items, often results in clutter that hinders productivity. Daizo addresses this problem head-on with a product that is not only compact but also aesthetically pleasing. Unlike other desk organizers, which often sacrifice functionality or design, Daizo strikes a perfect balance between both.

In addition to keeping your desk in order, the Daizo Desk Organizer makes a positive impact on the environment. By using recycled plastic from bottle caps and crafting it into something both beautiful and practical, Daizo contributes to reducing landfill waste. But sustainability doesn’t end there, at the end of its life, the organizer can be recycled again, supporting the circular economy and further minimizing its carbon footprint. Daizo desk organizer is an investment in a healthier planet and a more organized, productive workspace.

Paper saddlebag hangs over the edge to keep your desk organized

We only have a very finite desk space, constrained by the available area in our rooms or offices. We can always stack up desk organizers or have drawers beneath to make up for it, but those can only go so far. One underutilized area of our desks is often the sides, and there will always be at least two free edges even if you have a corner table. Taking advantage of that unused space, this rather unusual desk organizer hangs a saddlebag on the side of your table, providing not only a place to put pens and notebooks inside, but even a spot for your phone or drink on top. Best of all, it’s made of a sustainable material that looks more like luxurious leather than paper.

Designer: Tilla Goldberg for Richard Lampert

You’d normally hear of saddlebags only in relation to horses or even camels, but our work desks are just as much beasts of burden as these animals. And just like on those, the SALTO dangles off to the side to provide more storage than our overcrowded desks can already accommodate. It’s deep and spacious enough for notebooks, pens, cables, or even headphones, just about anything you want to keep out of sight but still within easy reach.

It even has enough room for a power strip, which is probably the last thing you’d think of putting inside. The bag’s design actually creates a simple loop at the bottom for the strip’s cable to pass through, becoming the only location where it snakes its way to a power outlet. It’s an unusual but effective cable management system, letting those wires all drop off to the side and disappear into the abyss that is the SALTO bag.

There is one odd and potentially problematic part of the saddlebag’s design, at least in the way it’s being advertised. The half-circle tray that sits on top becomes a place for more important items you’ll always want to have access to, like your phone or a glass of water. The latter, however, might be a cause for concern, considering how the weight of the bag’s contents could very well be heavy enough to pull that tray off the table. You can probably imagine the disaster if that drink spills inside, especially if there’s a power strip there as well.

The SALTO is also a very sustainable design that’s surprisingly made of paper. Technically, it’s a type of washable vegan paper that’s being used as a leather alternative, which explains its fabric-like texture and composition. It definitely looks elegant and stylish, especially when hanging from a minimalist desk that has all its clutter cleared and dumped into this bag.

How to save desk space with this organizer disguised as a file binder

If our floor space is already at a premium, our desk space is even more so. As the number of objects on our work tables grows, our space for keeping them in place becomes increasingly smaller. It’s no wonder why there’s an overabundance of desk organizers in the market, but these, too, occupy precious space that could otherwise be used for more important tools or accessories. For convenience, most organizers are laid out horizontally, but that’s definitely not the only design available. If saving space is more important than instant access, this desk organizer might actually be more effective, especially since it can put tools and other objects out of sight and out of mind when you don’t need them.

Designer: Nakabayashi

You might have plenty of stationery, supplies, and tools, but chances are that you’ll only ever use a select handful of these most of the time. You might find a bit of comfort in seeing them all the time, but they only eat up space all the time as well. Organizers, by their nature, can at least keep them tidy and in their proper places, but they also create visual clutter that could affect our subconscious minds. You could stash them away in drawers, but you’d be out of luck if your minimalist desk does have any.

It’s for cases like these that this rather ingenious organizer design comes in handy. From the outside and when they’re closed, they look like regular, nondescript file binders. Open them up, however, and you’ll see plenty of space for almost any kind of tool or supply. Simply pull one out using the typical ring hole, open it up, and you’ll have access to whatever you need to get the job done. It’s only a few steps more compared to reaching out for an open desk organizer but not much more compared to pulling out tools from a drawer.

Despite their obvious associations with desk or office supplies, these Lifestyle Tool File organizers can really hold anything you can think of, including baby products or an emergency kit. When you don’t need access to these objects, you can simply file them away on a shelf or something similar. You might even be tempted to go wild with a library of binders full of tools and accessories for any occasion.

These file binders come in A4 and B5 sizes to really drive home the illusion. Made from hard paperboard, the organizers also offer a more sustainable solution to the growing number of plastic products sitting on your desk. Unless you group a dozen or so together, they also take up little horizontal desk space, making them ideal for more space-constrained setups. For even more restricted spaces, there’s also a tall box that unfolds to reveal a few container pockets in the same vein, allowing people to maximize the space they have without having to say goodbye to their favorite tools.

Wav is a handsome desk tray that proudly puts your stationery on display

It’s too easy for clean and tidy desks to turn into a messy nightmare if things don’t have a proper place for them to call home. Desk organizers come in all shapes and sizes, though most of them take the form of trays or containers with drawers. There are a few exceptions, of course, such as pen holders that show only half of your writing implements or book stands that display some of your notes or reading materials. Granted, most of the time, you’d probably want your stationery to be out of sight and out of mind, which is why you’d want to stow them away in containers anyway. Sometimes, however, you probably want to flaunt your stuff and also have them within easy reach, so this desk organizer not only makes it possible to have the best of both worlds while also becoming something you’d want to show off as well.

Designer: Bao Loi

Keeping a desk tidy and presentable can be quite a challenge, which is probably why some people mentally freeze up when faced with the task. There are just so many ways to go, depending on the stationery, tools, and containers you have. There has also never been a shortage of accessories and organizers for that purpose, some with complicated gimmicks and fancy embellishments to stand out from the crowd.

The Wav, in contrast, is a simple single-piece wooden tray that uses its unique shape both for function and form. The inclined surfaces make sure that things only slide or roll on one side, and the angle they make with the crests stops them from actually falling off. With an open surface without borders, the Wav makes it easy to remove what’s on display and put them back again. No need to worry about pulling drawers, removing lids, or even guessing which section holds which items.

The curved troughs are perfect for stopping pens and pencils from rolling off, but the tray can really hold anything that fits its surfaces, from cards to keys to even a small remote control. It can’t hold everything, of course, but it lets you exercise your decision-making muscles in picking which things you need to be within arm’s reach all the time. There will always be plenty of things on your desk that need a place to stay, even for a little while, and the Wav offers a simple yet elegant abode for that purpose.

Even when empty, the tray doesn’t waste space since it also stands as a handsome desk decor. Made from real wood and finished with natural oil that gives it a slightly matte texture, the Wav desk tray stands as a proud example of how you don’t need to go overboard just to have a functional yet beautiful tool on your desk.

Free up space with this modular hanging desk rack

Let your stuff hang around without making a mess with this genius organizer set.

Just as with living spaces, desk space is a limited resource that is almost impossible to expand once it has been made, at least horizontally. That’s why modular desks are so popular because they often let you upsize or downsize, depending on your need. Modular desk accessories are also en vogue, especially the ones that can perform multiple functions, but those inevitably run you out of space as well. It sometimes almost feels like a waste to devote some of that precious space to things that won’t stay there for a long time, like papers you need to file, the book you’re reading, or even the cables you need to charge your phone. That’s why this organizer rack is pretty smart in utilizing a part of a table that is often taken for granted or even ignored, the edge.

Many productivity gurus advocate having a proper place on your desk, even for more “transient” objects that come and go. Some have a tray, a literal inbox, or even a basket, but those often take up precious space that could be used for more permanent things. They’re also a “one size fits all” kind of thing, so you can’t really use them for anything else or even arrange their parts unless you opted for a modular bin. The Hanging Desk Organizer Set solves all those problems by hanging over the edge of your desk and giving you the freedom to rearrange it to suit your needs.

Intuitive Organizing

As with many seemingly magical modular systems, the secret to the rack’s trick is magnets, very strong magnets. The rack itself is made from sturdy steel and doesn’t actually have any distinct markings on its own. It looks like a square root or radical symbol, where its short flap sticks to the edge of your desk without screws or magnets. The V-shaped space is where you can place things like magazines, letters, files and folders, and more. You can even hang your book over the highest edge as a makeshift bookmark in case you need to quickly pause what you were reading.

Extendable for More Functions

The rack, however, is also like a canvas where you can stick other accessories to provide more ways to hold different kinds of things. The cable holder, for example, magnetically attaches to the edges of the rack itself, and you can position it anywhere to get those pesky wires out of the way. The pin can be used to stick small notes, hang keys and lanyards, or even hold your phone from two ends. There’s also a non-magnetic hook if you really need to hang something heavier. Since these accessories are magnetic, you can even use them outside of the Rack, particularly the pins that can cling to any metallic surface.

The Hook

Magnetic Cable Holder

Magnetic Pin

Magnetic Box

Zero Installation

The rack itself requires no installation and no special surfaces to cling to desks, just a flat and clean edge. It uses special nano micro-suction tape to stick to any flat surface without actually using adhesive. You can remove the rack without worrying about leaving marks, and you can use it again on any table after washing the suction tap to restore its stickiness.

Each piece in this set is made from either steel or aluminum alloy, both durable materials that will last you a lifetime. Their minimalist design and plain colors make them a perfect match for any environment or desk, be it at home or in the office, where sticking things and drilling holes are next to impossible. With this handsome modular rack, you can conveniently live on the edge of productivity by having your stuff live on the edge of your desk, freeing up space so you can get more work done with your most important tools within easy reach.

Nifty desk organizers to create the most efficient desk space for you

In 2020 our lives changed completely, the COVID-19 pandemic transformed what was considered the ‘norm’, and created new norms that molded the way we lived. One of these new norms is the work from home culture, and it has continued well into 2022. We’ve been working from our homes for almost a year now, and although we have adapted to it, it can be quite a bore at times. I, for one, am always looking out for options to make my work-from-home routine more efficient and effective. And I’ve found that adding a desk organizer to my desk setup can amp my productivity immensely! An organizer can transform your desk from an utter mess to a neat and tidy space that will essentially boost your productivity. From a minimal desk organizer that comes with a switch-free mechanism to turn the light on and off to a square organizer system that can adapt to different environments– here’s a collection of interesting, super functional, and productivity-enhancing desk organizers that promise to be the best work-from-home investments of 2022!

1. Nick

When our stationery isn’t organized, our desks feel less like workspaces and more like minefields. One wrong move and those stacks of paper are going down along with the cups you filled with paperclips and thumbtacks. Before you know it, there’s hardly room to get any work done. Desk organizers help take care of the clutter and even add a bit of personality to your workspace. Furniture designer Deniz Aktay designed his own modular desk organizer called Nick that’s carved from wood for a simple and functional workspace accessory.

Why is it noteworthy?

Nick finds its organizational scheme through a system of carved-out slots that provide holding spaces for our stationery items. Carving out the product’s grooves, Aktay created a built-in rail system that additional wooden modules can slide onto to form a multi-level organizer. Defined by its modular design, the components that come with Nick have different sizes for users to configure the overall structure to fit their organizational needs.

What we like

  • Creates individual slots that are just the right size for different stationery items like writing utensils and short erasers

What we dislike

  • It’s aesthetically quite simple

2. Desco

It’s almost difficult to see Desco as an organizer, given how it visually looks disorganized on its own. It utilizes different shapes that seem to be haphazardly thrown together, as well as lines that cut through each other at odd angles.

Why is it noteworthy?

Unlike traditional desk organizers, you almost have to stop and think which items go where because, despite its seemingly random design, each nook and cranny of the Desco actually serves a specific purpose. That large acrylic circle in the middle, for example, has slits that are designed to hold notebooks, while the space going through the pipe shape can hold pens and even rolls of paper. The slanted foot has space for a few sheets of paper, while the acrylic surface of one of the wooden boxes can be used as a tiny wall for sticky notes. There is also plenty of space for all kinds of tools and knick-knacks, including a tray for your phone, earbuds, or smartwatch. There’s even a surface that can be used to keep your favorite mug within arm’s reach.

What we like

  • Despite its jumble of shapes, Desco still adheres to minimalism as far as the surfaces themselves go
  • The transparent acrylic gives an illusion of floating in the air

What we dislike

  • No complaints!

3. Desk Tidy

Award-winning industrial designer, Yohan Lansard, has once again given us a design that we are adding to our “major need!” list. Desk Tidy is both a lamp and a sleek desk organizer (also called desk tidy) for the miscellaneous items that usually cause clutter. The lighting concept is made with machined wood, anodized aluminum, and a diffusing tube.

Why is it noteworthy?

Both a lamp and a desk tidy, the light turns on when the lightbox is positioned vertically and turns off horizontally – simple, neat, and effective. How the lamp turns on and off is very intuitive as well as the paper-clip-inspired shape makes it even more perfect for your desk. The CMF is minimal and durable, the style would work in any desk or office setup without being distracting.

What we like

  • This concept makes it possible to respond to different types of objects

What we dislike

  • It’s still a concept!

4. 2ORDE

2ORDE is designed to create an environment that gives a sense of uniformity to the work desk and, owing to its multiple-use approach, makes finding office supplies convenient.

Why is it noteworthy?

After a host of barnstorming sessions, mockups, and feedback – the designers Junseo Oh, Eojin Roh, and Minjeong Kim arrived at a magnetic board in matte finish. Perfectly stable on its broad base, the 2ORDE is more than just the board. It is provided with a set of colorful sticky notes. These fasten magnetically to a section of the board, leaving the other part for you to detail your to-do with chalk and then paste a functional clock on it to glace at what schedule fits your time.

What we like

  • The sticky notes are erasable; designers claim no matter the pen you use, you can rub it and move on without a speck of doubt
  • The provided pen holder also clings onto the magnetic board and lets you have your pen collection right in focus

What we dislike

  • No complaints!

5. Deskitecture

Deskitecture is a line of architecture-inspired desk appliances that use various structural motifs to form mini cityscapes on your desk.

Why is it noteworthy?

Comprised of several different appliances, Deskitecture is built from different building materials as well. Using basic architecture as the blueprint for each piece, Kim broke their line of desk appliances down to four categories: concrete, wood, brick, and steel. The appliances made from concrete are generally the ones that keep desk objects in place, like writing utensils, books, and pieces of paper.

What we like

  • Unique pieces inspired by architecture
  • Strikes a uniform balance between aesthetics and functionality

What we dislike

  • No complaints!

6. Cyl

Desk organizers are a dime a dozen, but they themselves can actually be a source of headaches when they take over your workspace. No one can perfectly predict how much stuff we’ll accumulate over the years, and traditional organizers aren’t designed to grow with you and your clutter. You can buy more of them, in different designs even, but there’s a limit to how much room you have on the table. In contrast, Cyl uses the age-old stacking trick to free up horizontal space by utilizing often unused vertical space.

Why is it noteworthy?

This desk organizer concept doesn’t discriminate or put limits on what you can put inside. More importantly, you can easily see what’s inside and quickly get them without having to unstack the ones above. In theory, you can stack the containers as high as you can, presuming gravity doesn’t cause them to topple over.

What we like

  • You can easily see what’s inside and quickly get them without having to unstack the ones above
  • Organizers come in different sizes

What we dislike

  • Not the most space-efficient design for your desk

7. MagOrg

Keeping our desks organized is as much a full-time job as our real jobs, and not all desks are designed to help put order to our chaos. Sure, many have drawers, but they only keep things out of sight and out of mind. Desk organizers group stuff together but can sometimes be just as disorganized as the stationery they corral. MagOrg solves this clutter problem with a system that lets you keep all these essential work tools within easy reach while giving each a proper home. And you can even mix and match pieces so you can size down as necessity dictates.

Why is it noteworthy?

MagOrg utilizes magnets to create a modular and customizable organization system where you decide how big or small you want to go. There are three large panels you can combine in different ways, and each one of them has a unique set of features that make them special. One, for example, has elastic bands similar to grid organizers that let you squeeze in notepads, highlighters, and more. Another has built-in wireless charging, where you can rest your phone while you work, confident it won’t die out on you anytime soon.

What we like

  • Features a modular pen/pencil holder
  • Provides a de-cluttered workspace

What we dislike

  • There are similar designs on the market

8. The Quick-Access Organizer

More often than not, the reason why we lose keys, glasses, or even wallets, is because we misplace them by just placing them anywhere when we take them out of our pockets. We develop that bad habit because it sometimes takes too much work to actually drop them in proper storage, like a desk or shelf organizer, partly because the storage box itself doesn’t make it easy to use it. Having to think which item goes where can be a mental burden when it has to be done multiple times a day, and the seconds you lose opening and closing most boxes add up over time.

Why is it noteworthy?

The Quick-Access Organizer tries to smooth out by making the act of organizing your everyday carry tools as effortless as possible. The lid has sections that can fit only some kinds of objects. This makes it easier to know what to put there, so you won’t have to waste precious time making that decision every time. Pretty soon, it will be second nature to put your glasses, AirPods case, or keys in those sections, so they won’t have to end up lost in uncharted territory ever

again.

What we like

  • The box’s real special talent is how that lid quickly and effortlessly swivels out of the way, revealing the spacious cavern inside
  • This storage box is a minimalist beauty of contrasting and complementing elements

What we dislike

  • No complaints!

9. Cacty

Inspired by the indefinite growing lengths of succulents, Subin Song collaborated with Fountain Studio to design Cacty, a modular desk organizer that can expand and grow to limitless heights.

Why is it noteworthy?

Each module of Cacty can be linked to one another through a slot-and-tab stacking method that creates an endless array of options for organizing. Users can store bulkier items like staplers and tape dispensers in Cacty’s base module, the most central piece of the stacking system, which comes equipped with four slots for additional modules’ tabs to connect. The other modules that come with Cacty fit different organizational needs. For instance, a taller module can contain long writing tools like pens and pencils, along with rulers and scissors. Then, shorter modules can hold office supplies like glue sticks, binder clips, and safety pins.

What we like

  • Cacty’s main appeal is the infinite combinations that can be applied when constructing the modular system
  • Cacty can be constructed into any shape that works for your desktop

What we dislike

  • No complaints!

This ultimate organizer keeps your desk effortlessly tidy, making it the only organizer you will ever need!

If keeping your desks and shelves clutter-free were this easy, you’d probably never lose your keys or wallet ever again.

One of the biggest reasons people procrastinate on tidying up their desks, rooms, or houses is the inertia that’s needed to get the ball rolling, so to speak. The mere thought of the work that’s needed to put everything where it should be could send people into a spiral of excuses to put off or even skip cleaning up altogether. Many productivity gurus recommend reducing the friction in getting started or, better yet, removing the need to organize entirely by making it so easy to put things where they belong the moment you put them down. This effortless tray box does exactly that, leaving you fewer excuses to have your everyday stuff scattered everywhere.

The SQUARE Organizer System can adapt to different environments

SQUARE Organizer Images

Organizing a desk seems to be an easy task, but we know it is not always true for some people. There are those that find it challenging to keep the clutter off their table, so a desk organizer is a suggested solution.

We have seen several desk trays and organizers, but we know more will be designed and introduced. The last one that made an impression was the Lands Collection of Wooden Trays. Today, we’re featuring this Square Organizer System available in different fun colors.

Designer: Lo Kwun Hon (One Object Design Studio)

A Square tray can adapt quickly to any environment. You are free to use it to hold small items on your desk, such as earbuds, keys, paper clips, business cards, or pens. You can use several Square trays at once and arrange them with your own layout. The tray is versatile so you won’t run out of things to do with it as long as you need organizing or decluttering on your desk.

SQUARE Organizer Concept

The Square Organizer can also be considered modular as you can use more than one piece to create a more extensive tray system. This particular concept reminds us of the Lands Wooden Tray, as they have a similar design. The FLIP Calculator from before also had a similar concept. The Square has a series of ridges that can be used to hold different objects, making it effective.

SQUARE Organizer One Object Details

The concept tray design is honest and innovative. You may say it’s just an organizing tray for your work table, but it can inspire you to work. Declutter and organize what you see on your table, and maybe you can finally finish that project or task you’ve been working on since forever. Those trinkets and tools on your desk definitely need a place so perhaps the Square tray system can finally be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

There never seems to be enough space on your desk, so this concept makes use of the underutilized space above it instead.

Stackable containers are nothing new, of course, but they almost always have one kind of limitation or another. Some boxes can stack way up, but you’ll have to remove the ones on top first before you can get the items stored in lower tiers. Others are also fixed in their size, offering only short bins for things like paper clips, pads of paper, keys, and other small objects.

This desk organizer concept doesn’t discriminate or put limits on what you can put inside. More importantly, you can easily see what’s inside and quickly get them without having to unstack the ones above. In theory, you can stack the containers as high as you can, presuming gravity doesn’t cause them to topple over.

The organizers come in different sizes, with the tallest having enough room for pens and markers. The topmost container can be a short dish for keys and coins, or it can just be a wooden cover to quickly place objects you need to just as quickly access later. There are no rules on which can go on top of which, and you can have as many combinations or as many containers as you need or like. Gravity and your own height will be the only limits.

Cyl is designed to be made from metal, painted in different colors to make them look visually attractive. They also stack on top of each other, almost like LEGO blocks, except they’re cylindrical rather than blocky. Circles might not be the most space-efficient compared to squares or rectangles, but they are more interesting and more pleasing to the eyes, giving your subconscious brain one less source of stress.
