Ricoh Unveils GR II Silver Edition Digital Compact Camera

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the company, Ricoh has unveiled the new GR II Silver Edition digital compact camera. This exclusive package consists of a silver-color edition of the GR II high-end digital compact camera and an exclusively designed camera case.

Unlike the standard GR II model, the GR II Silver Edition has a stylish, high-grade, silver-color leather-tone finish, a silver finish shutter release button and a silver finish ring cap.

In addition, the lens description are engraved on the front ring using a diamond-cutting process and the GR logo’s color on the camera’s front panel has been changed to white. The Ricoh GR II Silver Edition will be marketed in a limited quantity of 3,200 units worldwide. [Ricoh]

Leica has introduced a new digital compact camera to its line-up, the Leica D-Lux ‘Solid Gray’. Styled in a striking two-tone finish, with elegant silver lens and control elements complementing the sophisticated grey enameled body, this beautifully-designed camera is basically a variation on the current black D-Lux.

Offering the same high-performance specifications of the standard model, the Leica D-Lux ‘Solid Gray’ set will also include a Leica CF D flash in silver finish and a specially made camera carrying strap color-matched to the new styling concept.

Sony has introduced a new full-frame digital compact camera to its line-up, the RX1R II. Sporting a magnesium alloy construction, this palm-sized camera boasts a 42MP full-frame Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor, a Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm f/2 lens, a retractable 0.39″ 2.36m-dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF, a 3.0″ 1,228.8k-dot tilting LCD monitor, Sony’s BIONZ X image processor and built-in WiFi & NFC connectivity.

Other notable features include Variable Optical Low-Pass Filter System, Fast Hybrid AF with 399 Phase-Detect Points, ISO 102400 and Uncompressed 14-bit RAW Format. For video recording, the RX1R II can record 1080p@60fps Full HD video in XAVC S format.

Specs-wise, this travel-friendly camera is equipped with a 16.1MP 1/2.3″ back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, a 25-250mm equivalent zoom lens, a 3.0-inch 921k-dot 180-degree tilting LCD monitor, a secondary shutter button on the front panel and built-in WiFi & Bluetooth connectivity.

Powered by a dedicated rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the Exilim EX-ZR60 can record 1080p Full HD video at 30fps. Sony has unveiled a new digital compact camera called the RX10 II. This high-zooming camera features the world’s first 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with DRAM chip, a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mm (35mm equivalent) f/2.8 lens, a 0.39-inch 2.35k-dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder, a 3.0-inch 1.22k-dot Xtra Fine TFT LCD monitor, Sony’s BIONZ X image processor and built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity.

Other highlights include Super Slow Motion at maximum of 40x – choose shooting frame rates of 960/1000fps, 480/500fps or 240/250fps (NTSC/PAL), Super-High-Speed Shutter of 1/32000 sec. and up to 14fps continuous shooting without blackout. For video recording, the RX10 II can record 2160p 4K video using the XAVC S codec.
