Back to the Future is a classic. It’s packed with humor, adventure, great characters (Great Scott!), and has a fun time-twisting plot. But beyond the questionable time travel, there are other things in the movie which might be just as implausible.
For instance, there’s that scene at the beginning where Marty gets blown away by that giant speaker. Then later on, Doc Brown acts as a conductor for a lightning bolt. Both of these seem like the could have caused significant bodily harm, and ended the story right there.
In the interest of science, Jake Rober of VSauce3 decided not only to explore the movie’s time travel paradoxes, but put the aforementioned scenes to the test to see how they would have really turned out. Hit play below, and find out for yourself.
The video is part of the channel’s fun, mythbusting series Could You Survive the Movies? which is available through YouTube Premium. However, the BTTF episode and Could You Survive Men in Black? are both available for free at the moment.
