The Lycurgus Cup, a 1,600-year-old Roman chalice housed in the British Museum, had baffled scientists ever since the piece was acquired back in the 1950s. When lit from the front the chalice appears as a beautiful jade green. Oddly, when lit from the back it turns a bright blood red. The mystery was solved in 1990 when researchers were able to view broken shards of the cup. That was when they discovered that the Romans had been working with nanotechnology.

Granted, now that Superman is turning 75 this year, the chances of him
taking to social media this late in the game is probably slim. However, a
recent Pew Survey statistic
did indicate that 32% of online seniors over 65 are using social
networking sites -- so, it's not inconceivable that the Man of Steel
just might have some social media skills in his arsenal of super
powers.

I think we all know that inventors are awesome. Even when their inventions don't work, they still show an incredible amount of creativity that many people don't possess. I'm one of those people that can't think that far out of the box to create something (other than art and fiction, that is). This video is a salute to inventors--and it's pretty funny as well.
