T-Mobile is set to launch the all new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition next month. The carrier has just started taking pre-registrations for the device. Introduced last September, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition sports a 10.1-inch 2560 x 1600 touchscreen display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 3GB RAM, dual cameras (2MP front & 8MP rear), GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, an 8220mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 promised plenty, but when we reviewed it, it didn't quite hit all of its marks. Maybe it was the high price when judged against its plastic chassis, or perhaps that our reviewer really wanted a better display than the 1,280 x 800 LCD that was provided. On the upside, the unit's multitasking prowess can't be dissed, but we did gripe that it was still using Ice Cream Sandwich rather than Jelly Bean. Still, we're sure plenty of people purchased this thing, so why not tell us what you liked and more importantly, what you would have changed?
We've known that the Galaxy Note 10.1 was destined for Verizon Wireless as early as CES two months ago, but now Big Red has finally supplied us with details on when and how much. The carrier will begin offering the Note 10.1 this Thursday, and all it will cost you is a mere $600 for the privilege of calling it your very own. To recap, Verizon's version will offer Android 4.1 with cascading Multi-Window support, a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB RAM, 7,000mAh battery and -- naturally -- the carrier's huge logos taking up the most space on the back.
It's no secret that we're big fans of Flipboard here at Engadget, but there's one thing we've been longing for: a tablet-optimized Android version. Until now, running the app on the Nexus 10 (by sideloading the APK) or even the Nexus 7 (officially supported) meant living with a scaled-up phone experience. Today, Flipboard is getting updated in the Play Store to supports a variety of Android tablets such as Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1, the Galaxy Tab series and the Nexus 10. A setting lets you chose between phone and tablet modes, which is useful for mid-size devices like Amazon's Kindle Fire, the Nook and the Nexus 7. Flipboard worked closely with Samsung to optimize the app and take advantage of larger, higher resolution displays. This means more of your favorite tiles, larger story snippets and landscape support (at last). We spent a few hours using Flipboard's new app for Android and came away suitably impressed -- anyone familiar with the iPad version will feel right at home. PR after the break.

A 10.1-inch tablet you can make calls on isn't the fever-dream of an ironic hipster, but a real device you've been able to pick up since the summer. Now, Samsung is launching the promised LTE variant of of its Galaxy Note 10.1 in Korea. Aside from the new modem, the internals are unchanged, which means we should be able to snag a HM5100 and live out our Napoleon Solo fantasies in peace.

Google undoubtedly upset the tablet market almost overnight with the Nexus 10: that record-setting 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, Exynos 5 Dual, Android 4.2 and all-important $399 starting price just tilted price-performance balance in a different direction than we'd seen even a week ago. But how does it stack up against its competition? We've included full details of the devices in a chart after the break; initial appearances suggest that pure performance hounds may like the Nexus 10 the most, although it doesn't have the most diverse options for cellular data or storage. We'll know the real tale of the tape once the Nexus 10 reaches our hands.

We're starting to suspect that Samsung has a thing for special events. The company just asked us to clear our calendars for an evening presentation in New York City on October 24th, teasing that the "Next Big Thing" has arrived. It's easy to make the connection to the Galaxy Note line with a stylus front and center in the teaser, although just what's entailed is left to the imagination: is it a more formal launch for American Galaxy Note II variants? A new tablet beyond the Galaxy Note 10.1? All we know is that we plan to be there to find out.

Now that Samsung has commenced beaming Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA toward deserving Galaxy S III customers, it's announced a raft of other devices set to receive the buttery OS in the near future. On the list are the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Music, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy mini II and Galaxy S Duos. That should bring a bit of extra speed and smoothness to those devices, along with Google Now for search and Samsung's own flourishes from the latest TouchWiz UX. As for the rest of us, there's more than one way to skin a Smartphone -- or avoid skinning one, as the case may be.

After landing on American store shelves just a few short weeks ago, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has officially gone on sale in the Great White North. Priced at $499, the Galaxy Note 10.1 features a 10.1-inch display, a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4 quad processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9-megapixel front shooter for placing video calls. Sadly, the Galaxy Note 10.1 ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but Sammy has promised that it'll be blessed with Jelly Bean "very soon." In addition to its snazzy innards, the Galaxy Note 10.1 includes its signature S-Pen and offers 50GB of free storage from Dropbox for two years. If you think this sounds like all that and a bag of chips plate of poutine, you can purchase the Galaxy Note 10.1 at Staples and other major Canadian retailers.
