Man Turns Old IKEA Desk Into A Star Wars Workbench

Presumably using a healthy dose of The Force, filmmaker Glen Vivaris of the YouTube channel Glen Makes crafted this Star Wars-inspired workbench from an old IKEA desk. Most impressive! For reference, I turned my old IKEA desk into kindling, which I then used to light the sofa at my last bonfire party. Now I know what you’re thinking, and I couldn’t agree more; you should have been there.

In addition to the Star Wars-style greebles on its drawer, the desk features a pop-up power strip, and the wall behind the desk has a suction vent for sucking away harmful soldering fumes. It’s a thermal exhaust port! Glen better hope the Rebel Alliance doesn’t fire any proton torpedoes down that thing.

An impressive workbench, to be sure. Currently, my own workbench is a closet door laid across two uneven towers of cardboard boxes. I keep telling myself it’s only temporary, but I’ve been telling myself that since I moved in three years ago, so at this point, I’m really just lying to myself.

This Disemboweled Tsum Tsum Tauntaun Is Adorable

Do you like disemboweled Tauntauns? Good, because Disney is releasing ten new Hoth-themed plush toys that include Leia, 2-1B, a Wampa, Luke, Han, and even a Tauntaun. Yes, a Tauntaun Tsum Tsum. That is way too much fun to say.

tauntaun_tsum_tsums_3

The best part is that the Tauntaun is a carrier that you can open up and stuff your Tsum Tsums into. You know, to save their fuzzy lives from the cold. Yes, this thing is equal parts weird and adorable. I think the final verdict has to be that it is indeed awesome.

We don’t have any info about prices yet, but they should all be available at Disney Store retail locations and online on December 20th, just in time for last minute Christmas gifts.

Hoth Bedroom Mansion Is a Great Way to Spend $15 million

It would be great to be rich. You could have all the exotic cars you want, and your mansion could be filled with awesome themed rooms. If you have about $15 million lying around, you might want to drop that dough on this awesome California mansion.

Inside there are a bunch of themed rooms from a dining hall that looks straight out of Game of Thrones to a pirate room with a ship bed. The coolest room in the house is the Empire Strikes Back themed bedroom shown above, complete with a T-47 airspeeeder bed.

The Battle of Hoth Ring

Wear the Battle of Hoth on just one finger in honor of all the brave rebels that fell on that cold day. This awesome ring depicts the fateful battle from The Empire Strikes Back in silhouette form.

The ring shows the ships and vehicles of both the rebels and the empire facing off against one another. It comes in a range of sizes and can even be engraved with the message of your choice. It’s simple, elegant and stylish.

Prices start at $159.99(USD) which isn’t bad considering you are getting an entire battle on one ring. This ring makes a great gift for any Star Wars fan for any occasion.

Rudolph the Red Nosed LEGO AT-AT

LEGO builder Tyler Sky is back, and this time instead of a Pink Landspeeder, he has delivered Rudolph the red nosed AT-AT. Now, how could any rebel tangle up the legs of something so cute and make it fall down?

This is a part of The VanDusen Botanical Garden’s is having their annual ‘Festival Of Lights’ exhibit in Vancouver, B.C. from December 10 to January 4. As part of this show, the Vancouver Lego Club (VLC) has put together a “HOTH FOR THE HOLIDAYS” display for The BC/Yukon Make A Wish Foundation, of which Rudy is a small part.

Rudolph has got to be the star of the show as far as I’m concerned. If this Rudolph AT-AT is guiding Santa’s sleigh, just imagine the size of it! Check out more images here.

Hoth Wampug Cave Dog Bed: Of Course We’ll See Master Luke Again

Our pals over at Homes and Hues spotted this Wampa-inspired Hoth Wampug Cave made by Tom Spina Designs for Kristen Andrews’ famous pet pug Chubbs the Wampug. She will knock you out and drag you to her icy cave, where she will hang you upside down and save you for a later meal. But she will look cute the whole time, so you really won’t mind.

As you can see, Chubbs the Wampug looks pretty adorable here in her Wampa costume, just hanging out in her Hoth ice cave dog bed. The coated foam sculpture even has an upside down Luke action figure hanging from it and the cave has a ramp granting the dog easy access.

Be sure to check the action filled video of Chubbs in action. Spoiler alert: It is better than the prequels.

Imperial Ketchup AT-AT Walker: Hothy Sauce

While there have been plenty of images circulating over on Reddit showing the awful, unsanitary things workers do when they’re bored at their fast food jobs, Redditor Txmaluda did something a little more creative – and decidedly less disturbing – with their downtime at work.

imperial ketchup walker

Yes, that’s an AT-AT Imperial Walker made  from plastic ketchup containers and cardboard. Of course, it’s all well and good until the Rebels start firing french fries and chicken nuggets – as it seem to be even more vulnerable than the ones in Empire Strikes Back. You certainly won’t need a tow line to take this AT-AT down.

My favorite part of the picture is the box that says both WHATABURGER and “fancy ketchup.” How fancy can WHATABURGER ketchup really be?

Battle Of Hoth Wedding Cake: Do You Take This Rebel?

This Battle of Hoth cake makes the battle different than I remember. Thanks a lot Han and Leia. The rebels are facing the Empire in a battle round and round this cake, while the pair of them are busy getting married up top. At least they made sure that the Rebel base is protected with some turrets around them.

hothcake

Too bad the Empire didn’t bring anything that could climb to the top of this mountain of cake. That’s some nice Hoth detail though. I hope the groom live happily ever after. I just want Han and Leia to get down there and help out in the battle.

What, are you going to have your honeymoon while the rest of the Rebels rely on Ewoks to save them on Endor?

Donkey Hoth T-shirt: How Cold Can You Get?

Now here is an arcade reboot that I can totally get behind. Donkey Kong gets the Hoth treatment as Han races to rescue Luke from the Wampa monster.

donkey hoth
Han has his Tauntaun and blaster and he won’t rest until Luke is free. He has to navigate his way through some Imperial Probe Droids and make his way up to the farmboy who is dazed and dreaming of Dagobah. No jumping barrels. Just shooting stuff. And if he makes it up high enough, he can grab a lightsaber. Though I’m wondering why Luke doesn’t use the force to pull it to him and slice off the Wampa’s arm.

This T-Shirt design by Baznet is pure awesomeness. It’s just about $25 (USD) from Redbubble. Check out more of Baznet’s science fiction inspired Donkey Kong levels over at MightyMega.

Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Sets

star wars angry birds death star Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Sets
This brand new game from Rovio is hitting it out of the park on all points- it’s got Angry Birds, it’s got Star Wars, it’s got Jenga. If this thing could cook dinner, I’d marry it. The game comes in three different versions: Death Star Game Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Sets, Hoth Battle Game Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Sets, and Tatooine Battle Game Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Sets. Each game comes with Star Wars figures appropriate to that scene (ie Tatooine has a little Jabba the Hut) as well as a bird launcher based on a ship (X-Wing Fighter for the Death Star game).

The gameplay in these is not exactly like Jenga, since you will want to knock it down. Still fun though. The Death Star set is the biggest and comes with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca birds that can be launched for a squawk attack on the pork side’s Darth Vader and 4 Stormtrooper pigs! Sweetness.
