The Ryze 360 iPad Case transforms your tablet into an elevated 4K monitor that fits in your bag

Desktops and laptops were named for their ability to sit on desks and on laps. Tablets, on the other hand, can’t do any sitting of their own and need to be propped up via a stand. Sure, you could buy a fancy case worth hundreds of dollars that packs a keyboard, or a flimsy one that barely props your tablet up… or you could go for the Ryze 360, a stand that lets you angle AND height-adjust your iPad, and even prop it up in both landscape and portrait modes. Relying on a clever design inspired by origami, the Ryze 360 takes the term ‘stand case’ to new heights, no pun intended. Use the case to prop your iPad up at surface level, or fold the flap to give your iPad a 3-inch height boost, turning it into a makeshift monitor that you can look at without straining your neck. The Ryze 360 also has a swiveling design that lets you rotate your iPad to landscape or portrait orientations – something you wish your current iPad case-stand did.

The Ryze 360 builds on the success of its predecessor, the Ryze. Originally designed to give the iPad its own protective case and support stand, Ryze managed to do what most stands couldn’t – elevated docking. Almost every case stand (even the one I have on my iPad Pro M2 right now) gives you the ability to rest your tablet at a variety of angles, ranging from nearly horizontal to diagonal, and nearly vertical. Ryze did that too, while allowing for one more position – docking at a height… and the Ryze 360 retains that clever ability with one more trick up its sleeve, portrait/landscape switching.

The case comes with a faux-leather PU exterior that both gives the iPad its distinct leather-bound book-like feel, while protecting it from bumps and scratches. A crease pattern on the front flap guides you into setting up the Ryze’s stand. There are 3 angles you can choose from, depending on what you use your iPad for (doodling requires a lower angle, Facetime requires a higher front-facing angle), and a special fold lets you prop your iPad up at a height, raising it to match your eye-level so you don’t bend your neck while viewing the tablet. In this elevated mode, you can also rotate your iPad freely, alternating between landscape and portrait modes depending on what you use your iPad for.

The Ryze 360 comes in four colors – black, gray, lichen green, and caramel, and is compatible with both 11″ and 13″ models of the 2024 iPad Air and iPad Pro. The tablets are protected by a polycarbonate shell on which the faux PU leather is mounted. A magnetic flap holds the front lid of the case in place, preventing it from accidentally opening on its own, while also protecting/holding the Apple Pencil Pro in place as it’s docked on the side of the iPad. The Ryze 360 starts at $49.90, but YD readers get a 10% discount using the coupon code YANKO-UNIQ10.

PITAKA’s new iPad Case comes with a clever zip-less design that lets you set your workstation up 1 second

A major part of good design isn’t the actual art of designing, it’s the art of identifying problems. If you can identify a problem that people tend to ignore as ‘a part of life’, chances are you can unlock a solution that people never knew they needed. This is the story of PITAKA’s FlipBook Case for the iPad. The story started with the designers at PITAKA realizing exactly how cumbersome current iPad cases and sleeves were. In order to use the iPad, you’d need to extract it from within the case or sleeve, and then put the case/sleeve on the floor beside you. This entire process would take minutes, and just seemed inefficient to begin with. So PITAKA reinvented the iPad case.

Designers: James Zheng, Stephen Lu, Shawn Wang and Alion Peng

The PITAKA FlipBook Case for the iPad takes just around a second to open and get working. Designed to sit around your iPad so you don’t have to ‘take the case off’, the FlipBook Case goes from protective cover to workstation in practically seconds. Just attach it to your iPad and Magic Keyboard and you’ve got a case that opens in a split second, and folds down in the same amount of time. Handles built into the FlipBook Case let you carry your iPad as if it were a mini briefcase, and a zip on the front of the FlipBook Case lets you carry accessories like your phone, cards, wallet, charging cable, or anything from PITAKA’s own ecosystem of great EDC products.

The FlipBook Case comes with a smart, zip-less design, making it efficient for use while traveling. With an all-black design that just screams professionalism, the case is constructed using leather along with Carbitex CX6® Carbon Fiber trims that provide heightened durability. With just the right balance between the two materials, and slight, judicious use of orange detailing, the FlipBook Case has the appeal of a sports car… except it can open and set your iPad up faster than a sports car can hit 0 to 60!

The FlipBook Case is available on PITAKA’s website starting $89. PITAKA’s ASI (Accompany Small Innovators) members get priority access to the FlipBook Case, while shipping for regular buyers begins July 1st, 2022.

A Tablet’s Guardian Angel

blok_01

Tablet cases are designed for protection and yet so many fall short in offering much if any real security from drops! Increased distance = increased protection… the entire BLOK aesthetic and every product detail is driven by these principles and nothing else. The weakest part of the iPad is the strongest part of the case. The design actually flexes on impact to absorb the shock. Square corners and a polymer structure offer greater absorption and protection for the most fragile areas. The pure geometry of the cases has proven itself by continually outperforming competitors products in controlled drop tests – even from heights of six feet onto surfaces as hard as concrete!

Amp iPad speaker case enhances the iPad experience

iPad-Speaker-Case

At some point in history, it seemed an iPod was utterly useless without a good dock or bay to recharge it and enjoy tunes. Is the iPad gearing the same way?

iPods, iPhones and iPads all sound fantastic and are great products in their own right. That is, until you have to take off your heaphones because you want to share the experience with those around you. It’s there where docks, speakers cases and the like become a necessity instead of a luxury.

This case is called Amp, and was created for iPad users who are willing to share in the joy. It is being marketed as “the first premium wireless iPad Air case of its kind”, and by pairing the device with its speakers via Bluetooth provides a great audio solution, doubling the iPad’s volume. The project is currently being crowdfunded at Kickstarter, where $129 USD can get you an Amp iPad Case before anyone else, cheaper than the $249 it will cost once it hits retail.

Amazing Paper Sleeves for iPads

It’s a modern take on retro-futurism with these Amazing Paper Sleeves. These cardboard sleeves protect your iPad, Kindle, or iPad mini while adding a splash of color. Reminiscent of 1940′s science fiction pulp art, it just looks like you’re reading an old comic book and not watching sports highlights on your iPad.

Back to the Future Sports Almanac is Real, As an iPad Case

Now Back To The Future fans can turn their iPad into the Grays Sports Almanac that Old Biff gave to Young Biff in Back to the Future II. It’s just too bad that it didn’t arrive in time to get some future scores.

Oh well. So you won’t get rich with this thing, but at least your iPad will be protected and look awesome. And who knows, maybe some dude from the past will steal it from you. Then he’ll be upset that it has no sports results and all he got was a lousy flat TV. Which will then lead to an iPad being manufactured in 1984. Great Scott!

Smart Cargo Lets You Take Your iPad Gear On the Go

Smart Cargo

So you’re always carrying accessories and chargers for your iPad around in your bag and you’ve lost a couple of them already because you left them lying around wherever after using them and forgot to keep it when it’s time to leave and head home. You could try to be less forgetful, or you could just get something like the Smart Cargo case to provide you with some extra space that’s dedicated for all your iPad-related stuff. That way, you’re less likely to leave them lying around or stuff them in your bag (that’s already got loads of other stuff crammed into it).

The Smart Cargo is meant to be used in conjunction with the Apple Smart Cover. It is attached to the Smart Cover with the use of 14 magnets. The Smart Cargo is made from durable plastic, but it’s lined with felt on the inside to protect your iPad gear and essentials on the inside.

The Smart Cargo fits easily inside the Smart Cover when the latter is rolled up, and doubles as an iPad grip and wrist support to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome when you’re typing something using it.

The Smart Cargo is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where it has already surpassed its $10,000 goal. A minimum pledge of $15 will get you one of your very own.
