Air purifier that blends in rather than stand-out

There is no reason for domestic appliances to disrupt the harmony within our homes, yet so many become undesirable eye-sores. HORIZONTÁLIS is an air purifier that demonstrates how a product with a distinct function can be designed in a way that allows it to be in keeping with the existing furnishings within the home.

On first glance, you would be forgiven in mistaking this air purifier for a side-table; its confident form and carefully-considered details lead to a product that resembles an item of furniture as opposed to an electrical appliance. Its designer, Jaehyo Lee, recognized that furniture isn’t as simple as ‘one-size-fits-all’; by incorporating a modular design, this friendly air purifier can be transformed to suit the environment it is destined to be placed within and further harmonize with the existing furnishings.

The Hub-less Espresso Machine!

dyson_coffee

Not more than a month back we saw Dyson reinvent the hairdryer. Over the years we’ve begun to appreciate how their well engineered products are also supported by amazing design. The same goes for the Cyclone Belt Coffee Machine. It captures the hubless style of the Dyson’s Fan and Hairdryer. All you do is place the cup in the negative space, run the controls, and out pours the coffee, tasty as ever. The design resembles the bladeless fan in aesthetic, except for the little extrusion on top, which is where you store your coffee beans. Even the controls limit themselves to three simple buttons, which goes to show how smart and effective the machine is at doing its job.

The Cyclone Belt uses Dyson’s proprietary cyclone system for precise control over moisture and temperature. It also looks absolutely badass, making your Keurig look like a puny little toy!

Saved By the Net

Net Rescue Boat is a lifeboat dredge with a net. The purpose of this re-design stems from the difficulties rescuers face while on missions using a regular lifeboat. The net area makes it easier to bring people to safety and commence first aid. Yep, in playtime we can also think of many party uses for the net area … but that’s just a wicked side of us!

Making Beaches Safer

The SOS Rocket is a unique safety buoy that earmarks safe swimming areas at the beaches. In case the currents sweep a swimmer, they can latch onto one of the buoys and release the helium-filled SOS balloon and thus attract the lifeguard’s attention.

How to clean a Broom?

The typical way to clean the broom brush is to manually pull through the entangled hair and grim caught in the bristles. Yucky! The Filter Broom can spare you this disgusting routine thanks to its innovative design. It is designed in such a way that if you press the button on the handle, the comb passes through the filter plate and hairs and foreign materials can be removed easily. Say yay for innovation!
