Every time I order takeout or have food delivered home, I make it explicitly clear to not send over plastic cutlery… not just because they’re bad for the environment (and they are) but also because the food industry is under the misconception that sporks are useful. Here’s a fact. They’re not. Designed to be half-spoon half-fork, sporks sadly fail at doing the job of either of the two… and their sibling, the splade (spoon + fork + blade) is even worse. Now I can understand why having a combination of the three pieces of cutlery makes sense if you’re in the outdoors. More items mean more chances that you forget or lose one of them, so a splade or spork, as dysfunctional as it is, is better than having to try and drink canned soup with a knife and fork because you can’t find the spoon you were 100% sure you packed.

We’ve seen a great amount of multi-tools. Multi-tools shaped as credit cards, as pens, as bracelets. However, these only do one thing. They shrink your toolkit.
